i have to agree with fire here. I love the game, but those faults are there for me too. Minus one thing,
I liked the story, granted a little bit cliche' it gave me that nostalgic RPG feeling.
And i liked the characters, not AS likeable as most FF games IMO but i really liked how as the game went on Kaim was slowly opening up to his friends, and it felt like he was slowly opening up to me as i played too, till you start to see the real kaim.
I like that.

Story isn't bad, just isn't quite an FF quality story. To be honest, I didn't think FF12 was an FF quality story either. This is around the same level for me.

I think some of the reason people feel the way they do about LO's story in comparison to past FF games is that the past FF games happened when we were younger and had big impacts in our childhood and young adulthood. I think it would be hard for a game to effect me the way past games did seeing now I have more things going on in life and alot more real life experiences.
