Lowbie BLMs not using any INT gear

GAWD, don't you know that VIT and CHR effects magic accuracy damage (cap can be seen by adding the two together btw)
 
You can't really blame people that are entirely new to the game, for not understanding what stats effect what abilities/magic especially when SE doesn't actually explain that (at least not to my knowledge... maybe its in the game manual?)

Even at Qufim, i've met a lot of people that have been new to the game and didn't quite know all the basics. Some people who have played other RPGs, or other FF games would probably catch onto the "INT = Black Magic" but that's not everyone.

And like someone else said, usually if you tell them in a way that seems like you're trying to give them helpful advice, the problem will be solved because they then take the advice.

I don't know many people that would intentionally gear up "badly" (other than being too lazy to farm gil to get decent gear) so its usually safer just to assume they might not be aware about how a particular stat will affect their job.
 
Blm was my first job and I dinged into HQ Seers gear. Newbs these days don't know what work is! Why, I fished days in and out for my gil! Uphill both ways! In the rain and the heat and the snow all at once!

More and more people have shitty gear these days it seems. Hence why PLing yourself solo to 37 is the way to go. It's seriously not difficult to learn basic information about the game. Hell, I used gamefaqs and a brady games guide and still managed to have HQ gear and leveled subjobs. I know it's just a game, but who the hell goes to play a video game and wants to lose? The social aspect isn't a valid excuse either, who the hell goes to play a video game to make friends?

What the hell are you smoking? The newbery continues even through Garlaige Citadel. For some people, it will NEVER end. Quifm just shows they had enough intelligence to scrape by Noob Desert.

This just caught my eye, because I never had to do this when I was bringing up BLM, and I've never asked another BLM to do it in the dunes. BLM is one of the best DDs you can get at the level, I wouldn't waste them curing. Maybe it's also that I tend to try and make parties from people that I know are competent..

ok please tell me how at lvl 10 a smn main heals by himself. He has Cure1 and Healing Ruby 1. Both of which cure for 10HP. The tank takes 20dmg from a lizzy easily. How do you expect to keep up with dmg the tank is taking w/o stealing hate?

and the matter of irrelevence. Its not irrelevent if you read the other thread about the ohat. Quite simply read before you post :D

I said I tend to make my own parties, and if I decide to even party at 10, which isn't likely, I'm just not going to make a SMN main heal.

My post wasn't exactly didcatic about how every party should go down, or how a BLM should unconditionally play their job, I was just saying aiding in curing is no excuse to be sporting lolZealots. And really, it doesn't take long for a WHM to be able to stand on their own two... Hardly past the dunes.

I see this same thing all the time with with lower level BLMs, and it makes me sad in my pants. The worst part is it isn't just with low ranks, presumably new, but with people I've known had at least one other high job.
 
and when they get to their 60s they sell their int gear and just use AF for every situation in exp pts

i sold my int gear because I WAS POOOR!!!
but before that, i had INT all over my sexed up body. My only regret was not finishing BLM!!! freaking rawr, damn you people not inviting BLMs into your cannons

Jyakotsu, you weren't even there. You don't know what Kotsu said to make me mad, and yet you take sides.

Why do you like to butt in so much?

Besides, starting at 11, a white mage DOES have cure II and can quite capably main heal without the help of a black mage. If you read my post I'm also talking about qufim and beyond, where a white mage has no excuse for not being able to main heal. I can even do it as a red mage.
