I was just wondering if anyone had tried flaming him yet? He resisted my fragmentation and utterly destroyed me (300 per hit H2H with Double Atk!). He should not be able to do that, it is cheating...
His brittle bones should have been turned to dust by two MS Rushes with one at full TP...why he was still standing before afterwards is just ineffable to me at the moment. But yea, I am not too happy about losing to Maat as a War...I feel as if he took something prescious from me. Yea...it was my pride.

Great Advise for all jobs on Genkia 5. A must check! Good luck.

Also let it be known that for every single job there a secret way to make MAAT quit.

For example: WHM I think you have to heal X-amount of Hp and MAAT will quit.

SAM ( More reasons for me loving SAM ): Simple do a 7 WS Skillchain. ( Easier than it sounds )

This site will tell you either or a secret way to defeat maat.

Update.

Here's What to do.

Simple.

Make Macros for all abilites, and your icarus item, and WS.

Get the follows items: Opo-opo neckless, 4 sleep potions, meat mithkabob, icarus wing.

Enter the BC and use your kabob. Equip your neckless,then use sleep potiont on yourself until you have at least 100% tp.

This importnat so don't forget. Maat will not attack you until you attack him first.

Approach him, do not attack yet. Use Agressor, Berserk, Warcry, And mighty Strikes.

Now Attack him. ONLY HIT HIM ONCE OR TWICE.

Then use Raging Rush VERY SOON AFTER start spamming your tp wing hotkey and you use your TP again.

I also heard that if maat resists your fragmentation Then you must have crappy luck or crappy gear.

But this site is like 100x time better than shitty allahkazam and is my #1 resource on info.

speaking of maat...do u need a testimony for every fight or just once? ^^

Yeah Maat sucks! 0/4 against him :(

And for the record about the rumor about Maat quittin agaisnt PLD after 4 WS thats BS, i REPEAT 4 WS BS. 3/4 i have gotten 4 WS and fight continues. Even with Espadon, Chiefkabobs, Amemith Mantle, 2 Str +3 rings, etc.
 
heh, your testimony rips much like an orb cracks after a BCNM...

so if you want him again you need a new testimony(if you die challenging him again you lose exp! ((ºA º))

I just lost my second fight to Maat last night, funny thing is, I didn't have a chance to use any potions, after two guillo's, he popped his two hour and I had to run away, unfortunately, after a stun, he still managed to hit me and cast spells and do me in.
Has anyone fought in the Qui Bei Arena...or however its spelled?
I noticed that in that area, there are 3 rooms, 2 smaller rooms near the transporter, then the main arena where u fight maat...I am thinking of just pulling maat into one of the smaller rooms and when he two hours, stun him and run into the open room, which I hope will one give me distance on him, and enough time for his 2 hr to wear. Well anyway, wish u luck ur second fight, I know how stinky it is.

It was my 3rd try. It was rough oh so rough.

My advice to the DRK's: Do NOT repeat NOT use Guillotine. Guillotine has added effect of SILENCE. If you silence maat he will not waste time casting absorb-mind on you. Which is something you want him to do.

HOW I BEAT MAAT AS A DRK:

1) sleep to 100tp on Scythe
2) MAKE SURE TO EAT FOOD AND EQUIP YOUR NORMAL NECKLACE
this is very easy to forget in the panic before you engage.
3) engage FROM A DISTANCE and cast BIO2 to make maat lead the battle with a spell. His spells suck and the more he casts the better off you are. Bio2 cut his melee attack by at least 30 points.
4) Keep HP above 600 at all times. This is vital. I was dragon kicked for 300, but managed to spam-potion my way back up.
5) When he uses 2hour Stand Your Ground and counter with your own. you should keep roughly even HP unless he crits(bad) or you do (good).
6) Use Cross reaper the instant you get 100tp, it should do 400+


items you need: Slayer earring--> 20%phys damage saved me. Wear AF body and pants for parry, evasion, and vit and hp bonus.
Do NOT wear sniper rings.


i had 14 hi-pots and ran out near the end, i reccomend at least 18 to be safe. he will give up just before/just after your 4th cross reaper, at just under 3/4 hp.

And yeah Kira his lil speech at the end made me think... Maybe hes not such a bad guy after all...
