Metal Gear Solid 4 - Official Thread

Goddamn that's quite an accomplishment. May I ask what your strategy was during Act 3 on the bike? Tranq/Solar/Twinbarrel with v-ring i know, but how?
 
I just finished the frog attack in Act 1. Fuck that was insane without being able to buy tranq ammo <_<

stun grenades, tranq gun, and V-ring shot gun. When you make the slow motion jump try you best in tranqing one of the torrent guys, but when you land, go for the PMCs on the ground. Btw, Auto Aim is win for this part specifically the slow motion part.

In the last phase of the chase, hit the first truck PMC with a V-ring(auto-aim). If you don't have atleast half health by the time you reach the haven troops(Undamaged is A LOT better) then just start over. Continue shooting PMC jeep dudes with the V-Ring(auto-aim), then once you hit the frogs switch to tranq gun, and put on auto-aim. With some luck you should make it out alive.

Any haven toups that gets on the van, auto-aim and shoot.
 
Man, I've never used that Mk. II <_<. This'll be fun.
 
ive just started my 2nd playthrough on big boss hard,

so far i haven't gotten alert once (although i did get an alert sound from the gekko's in the beginning, i hope that doesnt count)

im gonna play through and see how i do this time, the first time i played through i didn't care about killing or sneaking past guards i just wanted to get through to see how the story unfolds

(man if i could get big boss ranking before my friend who is a mgs fanboy it would be such glory lol)

shit that thing is a perfect scout, so long as you dont use it near unmaned infantry, those things can see through the stealth

but yea, you can stun enemies with the mk. II when you hold down l1 and hit r1
 
I just went 16 and 5 with 11 headshots in TDM lol, then the server went to DM and i went 13 and 4 with 9 headshots lmao. I even got a double kill with my m4 which was pretty sick. People kinda suck at this game online lol. In the TDM the next closest dude was on my team and he was actually 9-2 which is decent, everyone else blew though. Then in the DM i think the second place dude was 5-4 and no one else had more kills than that lmao.

new choice of weapon for MGO. The Mosin sniper rifle. Whenever I hit someone with it, it brings bundles of happiness upon my face. Sit next to the guy you slept, wait until his stamina meter is almost full, an bam headshot with a handgun lol. Total pwnage
 
Anyone know if there is iPod music in game with the "main" Metal Gear theme by HGW? They had been using it since the opening credits of 2 and used it throughout promo and in 3 as well.

Here is an excellent live version...well, at least the last minute or so.

Yeah, the Orchestrated theme for MGS2 w\is by far my favorite song from the series. I didn't here the exact version in MGS4, nor did I find the iPod for it (I don't think, will have to recheck) but

during the fight with Ocelot, if I remember correctly, there is a slight remixed version of it
 
Man, getting through Act 1 for the BBE is hard. I've had to restart so many god damn times <_<;
 
i have a question about the emotion ammo

now when you shoot them and they start to laugh, cry, rage, or scream can you just walk right by them or will they still spot you?

i know that when you shoot them and they do their emotion that they get knocked out but i dont know if you can run right by them
 
Ok I'm part way through act 3 now, certainly surprised me, but definitely the weakest act.
 
Just wait until the end of 3.
 
Damn dude, I finished Act 1 on my BBE playthrough, but I cant figure something out. I had no alerts, no recovery items used, only used my tranq/mosin/mkII (and an rpg on the stryker tanks) but it still said I somehow killed 2 people somewhere in the act.

Cant figure out why that is.
 
People standing near Stryker when you blew it up maybe?
