Michael Vick Indicted for Dog Fighting

I used to watch the animal planet cop show, and people who actually physically ran pit bull "farms" barely got fines and less than 6 months in jail.

We dont even know what his involvement is, his friends/family are split as to what his involvement is, and it's going to turn into a he says she says.

He's probably a target of all sorts of people trying to extort money from him since this has come out, and wouldn't be surprised some of the jigs speaking against him didn't get what they wanted.

A lot of those shows were taped at the American Humane Society Detroit. There is a lot of dog fighting around here and some of the rumors going around certain circles here, are that they only get minor fines and time in jail because our very own mayor enjoys the show.

Anyone that advocates this kind of bullshit is criminal to me. Were it up to me, I'd snipe these motherfuckers out while they were standing around the Pit Ring.

You guys go ahead and have your QB stats pissing contest, it derails from the actual issue. I don't give a fuck how good of an arm Vick has, if what the authorities are saying is true, he should be shot.

So you're backing off the whole vick vs tank pit bull matches? Glad you've come to your senses.

As far as Goodell, he's come down on repeat offenders. This is Vick's first offense, so don't get too excited about seeing him suspended. It may take up to 48 months before trial even begins.

And as for the the whole Vick missing whole seasons...lol where does your peabrain come up with this. Look at their stats, or here, I'll show you.

Rex: http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/396159

Vick: http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235253

Vick has missed 2 games in the past 3 seasons, he was injured 4 years ago in preseason, and played at the end of the season, the year prior he started and played in 15 games, only missing one.

Last season he rushed for over 1k yards, and threw for 2400, giving him 300 more yards than grossman total, which is negligiable, but he had a much better (20/13 vs 23/20).

Micheal Vick is a threat, McNabb a threat, Palmer a threat, Manning a threat, these players have coaches up all night thinking of ways to stop them, no one is worried about Grossman, he's like Trent Dilfer when the Ravens won the Super Bowl, just did enough to get by, and let his defense do the rest.

PS: You asked what my problem was with you, and this is a clear example, you talk out of your ass making shit up as you go along. People call you on it and you dissapear. Well, it's my turn to show you up, and I have stone cold numbers to prove you're an idiot, now run away.

Vick is a thung he is a horrible leader and a bad teammate. These are the reasons I wouldn't want him on my team. There are a few teams that are reallystruggling at QB and looking for an instant fix they might take him yes. I am guessin most teams will want a player that actually care about how the team does. Vick seems to play well every other game and out of the 2 times he went to the playoffs he followed a good first round game with a horrible second game. QB is supposed to be a leader not some stupid thug that could care less about the team.

Yet Vick can't take his team all the way. Yes I know The Saints were in the NFC South along with the Falcons, but years prior why can't he get the job done if he's so amazing? As far as Vick's charges they're far more serious than Johnson's charges because Vick is getting federal indictments where as Tank was only held in prison at Cook County.

Vick is risking federal prison. I can't remember, but isn't there still controversy over Vick's water bottle hidden compartment? Micheal Vick has a trail as much does Tank, Pacman, and 9 of the Begal players.

As far as Grossman versus Vick I would still rather have Grossman who had freak injuries as a quarter back over Vick who simply can't get the job done. Yes you will bring up the point that Grossman didn't get the job done when he was on the field in the Super Bowl. What you wont mention though is how the Bears defense wasn't doing a damn thing to stop the short passes. That is a big flaw with cover 2 is either the defense gets beat on short passes trying to protect the long bomb, or the defense gets beat at the safety zones by a deep post route going towards the middle of the field.

Now lets bring up Vick's short game as that is all he has. He ran for 1,000 yards as a QB now isn't that the job of a RB? Ya Vick can throw some what, but he barely breaks a 52% on his completion rating (Grossman 54%). Then Rex also threw for over 3,000 yards lets not forget his 45 sacks versus Grossman's 21. Yes go ahead bring up the Bears Offensive line. Vick lost about 7 so did Rex (both coming out to be 6.7 yards if you want to be exact). You want to glorify Vicks running why did he only have 2 touch downs running?

Now we have to bring in the running game as that is what Da Bears focus on offense wise. Thomas Jones out ran Warrick Dunn had more TDs. Cedric Benson 6 TD 647 yards only playing the last few weeks with some red zone touches.

The Bears put forth more of a team effort for winning rather than focusing on one aspect. As Tim said Alge Crumpler was Vick's favorite target. Face it Ashley Lelie isn't a #1 WR. Where as Grossman has Mushin Muhammed, Bernard Berrian (shouldn't be a #2), Mark Bradley, Desmond Clark (even though I don't like him), and Rashied Davis. Now I highly doubt these receivers would be getting many TD, and Desmond Clark who isn't a great catch and run TE nor does he have the hands of the new generation TE of Shockey, Gates, Heap, and Crumpler. Yes yes I know Clark had 6 TDs, but it's taken him too damn long to develop.

Football is a team sport not just a one man show which Vick pretty much is. Although it is Sports Center and they only show clips of people's favorite players. Vick is a one note kind of player that is a scrambling QB until he was put into a west coast offense where short plays dominate and we all know Vick doesn't have the cannon that Grossman does.

Vick
Grossman

Grossman has nothing but leg problems. Vick has problems from scrambling, being tackled more than a QB should, and sacked. Vick will continue to have these problems as long as he's a rushing QB because he's going to get hit a lot. Which will present a problem for a lot of people that would be interested in Vick when he becomes a free agent. They will look at his injuries the amount of times he's been hit with in the seasons. He will be signed by someone if he's not thrown into prison, but the chance of him retiring due to multiple injuries is great as it is with pretty much any scrambler.

You can bring up games he missed, but look at the injuries as to why he missed them.

The reason Vick is a one man show is because?

HE HAS NO ONE ELSE ON HIS TEAM!

How fucking dense are you? Even you talk about how useless his teammates are, and still too fucking stupid to see the point. Put Vick in a place with quality position players and he'll outperform grossman. You wanted to talk about Vick's 52% completion, then you realized Grossman was barely better at 54%.

What puts Vick over the top of Grossman is his ability to creat when there isn't much to happen. Grossman feels the pressure and throws Ints, as shown by his 20 Ints compared to Vicks 13.

Vick's injuries don't cause games missed, all they are is injuries. Look at any player and you'll see plenty of injuries, here is one http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/players/1025/injuries.html If you aren't missing games due to injury, it doesn't matter. Look at most teams and they usually have 4-6 starters in the probable category of their injury report with various injuries.

BTW, you also failed to tell us about all these games Vick's missed, where are those stats at? Oh ya, you he hasn't missed many games, just one season due to injury, which happens to many stars, if you need a list, I'm sure I can bring up about 20 people who have missed seasons due to injury, all of them which you would probably want on your team.

You remember Grossman's 2.9 quarterback rating game right?

And where do you get that Vick doesn't care about winning? I missed that quote, please find it for me.

Fist of all about Grossman yes you are right he does suck. But I would take him over Vick for one reason. He does't act like a dumbass 100% of the time off the feild. What kind of player flips off their own fans and would put his team in the position they are in now. When you look at a player you have to look at how he is going to effect your team all around. What do you think Vicks effect on the falcons will be the next 6-10 years? Unless he gets some kind of super special treatment he will get mabye some playing time this year and lots of jail time.

He represents the Falcons as a member of the team so everything he does on and off the feild is a representation of the team. His current actions up to this point shows how much he "cares" about his team.

Warrick Dunn who is rushing as much as Vick, but doesn't get to throw the ball is on that team. If your QB is rushing for 1,000 yards along with your RB that must mean you're lacking somewhere on offense. If Vick were on any other team he would damn near negate the RB, but Vick has a good rusher in Warrick Dunn.

I will take Grossman's 2% more completion rating plus 3,000+ yards in the air with Thomas Jones 1,000+ yards on top of Cedric Bensen's 600+ yards in only a few starts with some red zone touches over Vick's 2,000 yards in air with rushing so much. He takes unneeded hits which isn't exactly helping the longevity of his career on top of Vick's numbers and off-field actions aren't helping either. Oh ya and 45 sacks for 300 yards isn't exactly a good thing to have. One last note: Injuries add up Meeze.

I will take Grossman's ok numbers over the fiasco that is becoming Mike Vick. You have to have a running game to set up the pass, and you have to have a passing game to set up the run. If the Bears were to have Vick there would be even less of a passing game with Vick on the field. There has to be a balance, and with Vick there isn't much of a balance on the offensive side. So the defense will be setting up to stop the outside sweeps that Vick does to avoid sacks.

On top of running plays, long time consuming pass plays (Vick mostly has these due to him having to scramble out of the pocket) aren't a good thing this will be eating up a lot of play clock. Yes I know that if you're TEAM is winning eating up the play clock is good, but if the team is losing (let's say 2 touchdowns) you'll want more play clock to work with to catch up. A pass play that gets extended by a scrambler isn't a good thing if the scrambler can't really bomb the ball down field. Vick isn't Steve Young nor will Vick ever be Steve Young.

Grossman also threw almost 100 more pass than Vick did. Of course in those passes you will have more interceptions. 7 more interceptions on damn near 100 more pass isn't terribly bad at all. You didn't bother to look at the number of passes thrown did you? Of course with more passes you'll have more interceptions. Yes I would agree with you that 20 INT is bad if Grossman only put up as many throws as Vick, but in this case Rex Grossman has 92 more passes than Vick.

Now I will expect you to bring up Brett Favre having 150-160 more passes than Grossman with only 2 less interceptions. I will agree that Grossman can and will make some poor throws decisions causing some interceptions. That is something a QB in his first full NFL season as a starter will make is mistakes. You can chalk it up to Brett Favre having more experience than Grossman. 2005 wasn't Grossman's first full year Kyle Orton started 15 games with Grossman being out with an ankle injury.

Ya I made a mistake I thought Vick didn't start some games. I thought Matt Schaub had started a game or two in 06. Although to get a start you only have to play your team's first set of downs on offense. Just because Vick got the start didn't mean he was missing games Meeze. He could have gone out on the 2nd set of downs for offense or later on in the game, and Vick would have still gotten the start because he played the first set of downs.

So this still leaves the question of two injury prone Quarterbacks. Which one will I take the more freak injuries of Rex Grossman or the non-freak injuries of Vick due to him being scrambler? I will still take Grossman because a pocket QB balances the team more than a rushing QB because once again the rushing plays set up the passes. The passes set up the rushes. If you don't get what that means it means that passes and rush plays are dependent of each other. You can't focus on one part because the defense will anticipate that part which will shut down your offense.

Show me which games he was pulled after two series?

You keep making bogus claims that can't be backed up, and you keep looking like an idiot, that is why everyone laughs behind your back.

If Vick is doing 3400 yards combined, to Grossmans 3100 yards, and grossman has all these other weapons while vick has shit...you do the math.

Vick would destroy grossman with a proper offense, and your numbers prove it.

Vick was in a proper offense for his arm. He was placed in a west coast offense.

3400 combined yards with only 2,000 yards passing doesn't leave much room for setting up rushing plays. You fail to realize on any offense that rushing and passing are dependent on one another. Once again they are DEPENDENT on one another. Vick has one talent that is running. His arm is nothing to talk about.

You have your QB rushing for 1,000 yards while only getting around 2300-2400 passing yards. That isn't a good number for any QB. Lets take years prior to Vick finally rushing for 1,000 yards as 06 was and is the only year that has done so. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235253 right there you can see he barely breaks 3,000 yards a season combined. Those numbers aren't spectacular. He has had the weapons before, and was in the right division of the conference to be a good passer.

Face it the NFC South has be weak since the Bucs died after winning the Super Bowl. Carolina is NEVER consistent on what they want to do. They either can show that they are in fact contenders or pretenders as it's been stated so many time before. They aren't consistent. Then lets just laugh at the Saints prior to the 06 season. Hell we can still laugh at the saints because there defense wasn't special. If it wasn't for Drew Brees and the Panthers being horribly inconsistent the Saints wouldn't have been as amazing as they were this year.

Vick can't get the job done. Simple as that his passing yards are low, but seeing as though you think him rushing for 1,000 yards is absolutely fantastic with only 2 TDs I will keep laughing at you for wanting a QB that can't throw the ball well at all. If you're impressed by a QB that can only pass for 2,400 yards by all means have him. I know I will never be impressed by those numbers. I will take the Bears balanced offense which still has it's main focus on rushing over Vick running his ass off. Not to forget that Grossman just played his first full season, and is still developing. Where as Vick should be past that developing phase and really starting to shine. Honestly I don't think Vick is anywhere near that shining point.

Maybe with Joe Horn on his team now his passing numbers will be more impressive then I will change my mind. This is the only case that I will say well gee now I would like to have Vick now that he has managed to break 2500 passing yards. Then I will say wow I will take Mike Vick now for actually doing what a quarter back is suppose to be doing which is throwing the ball to his fucking receivers or even his fucking backs if he has to on screens.

I love how you have to resort to insults Meeze. You totally dodged my point on the injuries adding up because Vick is getting hit more than any QB should. That still decreases his longevity as a QB because all those injuries do add up into problems. Just because he's playing doesn't mean he's hurt. Look at Brett Favre playing with a broken fucking thumb he didn't miss a game. 10 bucks said it hurt like all fucking hell for Favre to throw a ball. 20 bucks says it hurts Vick like no fucking tomorrow being tackled with a rib injury.

So I was wrong that Matt Schaub didn't get starts big whop. I was wrong there, but I am not wrong in wanting a QB that does his job on passing than a QB that has only been getting 2300-2400 passing yards whose been starting since 02 and has only missed one season.

Also putting Vick on the Bears doesn't mean that he will destroy at all. That's just you hoping it to be true so you aren't wrong.

Put Vick in a ring, all padded up. And let a dogg get at him. See if he can throw after that. Fool ass man, all he is. Stars with money thinking they are above the law strike again!

One, you keep avoiding when I'm asking you to bring up proof for your points like Vick starting games but not finishing, I guess you've conceded that Vick hasn't missed a whole lot of games.

I wont even touch the division thing, because the vikings and packers suck, and I can't remember off top who the last team there is.

I wasn't talking about the system alone, a system is jack without players. Vick is the only one of any real ability on that offense. You can make a point for Dunn, but he is a draw/pitch back, and not a hardnosed runner which you need to keep the linebackers from being able to play off the line and take away passing lanes.

If you put swapped Vick and Grossman, the Falcons wouldn't even be thinking playoffs, and the Bears would be looking a whole lot prettier.

Take away everything about this case, and Vick is one of the phenoms in all of sport. His talent is not just running, it's keeping plays alive. The reason he is taking so many sacks, and rushing so much is because his O line sucks, and his recievers are easily covered because there is no top notch player at that position.

At the end of Vicks carreer, he will be mentioned with a player like Garnett if he doesn't leave the Falcons. They have never exhibited a will to win; aside from one super bowl run, they are rarely in the playoffs, and continue to suck since they came about the league.

Ok Meeze this is what I think of you: Der I am Meeze I can't read. I already said I was mistaken. I thought the Falcons had Schaub starting some guys. I was wrong I have said that twice now. What don't you get about that?

Once again you have missed Warrick Dunn being on that offense. Warrick Dunn produced more yards rushing. If the Falcons built their Oline the plays wouldn't be dying. The point of the west coast offense is short quick passes which Vick should excel at because he doesn't have the cannon of an arm that Grossman has. I also said once again yes Grossman is prone to mistakes due to inexperience. What you don't seem to understand is that Grossman threw almost 100 more passes than Vick. Anyone should expect more interceptions from more passes thrown. Especially by a QB in his first full NFL season.

Passes aren't meant to keep the clock moving either so Vick keeping plays alive, and not running out of bounds isn't a good thing. Passes are meant to strike the ball down field in a quick amount of time. This is why you'll see times that are trying to get a come back win pass more than they rush. Vick can't throw the ball past the line of scrimmage or it's a penalty. So then Vick has to stick to rushing. Then instead of just getting some yards to make the play worth it he'll go for first down instead of going out of bounds or sliding to end the play. This defeats the purpose of the west coast offense. Of course they have a new coach this year.

Also McNabb is a better QB than Vick. You want a receiving core that counts as under talented thats what the Eagles have. Reggie Brown was the best receiver the Eagles had. Yes I know Jeff Garcia was in quite a bit of the year, but let me ask you who the fuck is Reggie Brown? No one knows because he isn't a top notch receiver. Hell before the Eagles had T.O. McNabb made his receivers look good by making plays. 3,000 yards+ with an under talented receiving core (exclude the year with T.O.)?

Vick has every potential bone in his body to be as good as McNabb. Maybe finally having a #1 caliber receiver will finally boost Vick's passing yards to the point that they should be for a QB on top being able to carry the ball. I wont take an underachieving quarter back for a quarter back that is inexperienced. Not to forget Grossman is younger.

I hope he gets what everyone who enjoys/fights in UFC/Boxing, a nice slab of meat, and a fur coat gets... absolutely nothing.

Put Vick in a ring, all padded up. And let a dogg get at him. See if he can throw after that. Fool ass man, all he is. Stars with money thinking they are above the law strike again!

Um Vick is faster, stronger, and bigger than the dog. I'd think he's better off with his feet and hands chained together to give the dogs more of an advantage.

I talked about Dunn, maybe you're too fucking stupid to follow. He isn't a back you can hand the ball down after down. The passing game and Vick need to soften the defense up and spread them out so he can hit gaps in it.

McNabb is obviously a better QB, no need to bring in another QB we both know is head and shoulders above vick and grossman. Remember McNabb had plenty of help as far as a strong defense who got him more opportunities and Staley running the ball over the years.

You pointed out 100 extra attempts for Grossman, thats attributed to a defense making teams 3 and out or turnovers. Another 100 attempts nets vick about another 680 yards which puts him right over 3k yards.

If his line doesn't suck, he could add another 50-60 attempts, which would cut his running and sack counts. Vicks numbers would be astronomical with a halfway decent franchise, but Atlanta keeps limping around the NFL sucking. If I'm Vick, I'm praying Atlanta drops me so I can sign on with a team who actually gives a shit about winning.

Vicks stupid attitude towards the being lawful runs in the family... remember when little vick stomped on some guys calf?

That whole family is retarded.

Um Vick is faster, stronger, and bigger than the dog. I'd think he's better off with his feet and hands chained together to give the dogs more of an advantage.

Are you serious? Lmao get off his dick. He gave you money? The dog would eat him. Man just think about what you just said...Dog>Vick...

You obviously havent read the thread, because Romp is supporting Grossman this whole thread.

Is your last name Vick? Because you appear retarded too.

And Romp, dogs are faster and can run farther, ever try to run from a fully grown pit? Most dogs top out around 30 MPH whereas only Michael Johnson can get that fast.

Dont get me wrong, he might be able to maneouver around enough to get away, but in a 100 yd dash dogs win.

Actually you can compare Vick and McNabb because they're the same style QB. The only differences is which hand they throw with, and McNabb can make plays on the pass. Exclude the year where McNabb had T.O. you can look at his receiver core, and go who the fuck are they? Todd Pinkston? James Thrash? Freddie Mitchell? Those aren't star receivers. Vick has had the same kind of receiving core. I said Vick has ever potential bone in his body to be as good as McNabb.

After these charges I doubt Vick will get another team unless they desperately need a QB. Most of those teams though either filled it with a QB in the draft, or they're like the Falcons with a horrible Oline so it doesn't matter much anyways where he'll go if he isn't in prison.

Grossman had more attempts because he doesn't rush out of the pocket like Vick. The Bears will also pass more than the Falcons, and not that the Bears will have more 3 and outs. Will they though? Yes, but it wont result in 100 more passing attempts.
