Dont forget Big Country!
You have to be completely blind to think that UFC Co-Promoting with M1 would make them more money, that is completely rediculous.
My point is, the UFC contract certainly wasnt terrible, if it was so bad why are so many fighters wanting to get into it? My point is, he didnt really care to be the undisputable no.1 heavyweight in the world, he might be the best but he didnt care to show the world, he preferred to according to you make more money and have freedom.
I believe if they Co-Promoted on a free card such as something on Spike they would make more money. Fedor doesn't really give a shit about what people really think hence why all he does is work out, spend time with his family, and devote himself to his church. He hasn't gotten wrapped up in the stardom and still lives a simple life in his hometown. And he is the consensus #1 Heavyweight so he gets it all.
You talk about Rogers only having one name, but look at Shane Carwin. Who has he beaten besides Gonzaga? Yet he is such a worthy opponent for Brock. Or Cain Velasquez whos biggest win is Cheick Kongo and we saw how well he is doing these days. There is the same amount of worthy competition outside of the UFC as there is inside of it.
And don't be so naive, yes Barnett is on roids, but I'm willing to bet a majority of the MMA world is also on them. They just are smart enough to not get caught.

ProFighting-Fans said:1. Fedor Emelianenko (31-1) – “The Last Emperor” solidified his position as the number one heavyweight in the world with his 2nd round TKO victory over Brett Rogers at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers early in November. His 11 fight win streak and his 28 fight undefeated streak is remarkable in itself, but throw in that he hasn’t been to a decision in over four years and that makes his run much more impressive.
2. Brock Lesnar (4-1) – Since joining the UFC, the 6’4” 265 pound giant has climbed to the top of every top 10 ranking board. Two hard-earned victories over Heath Herring and Randy Couture along with a TKO of Frank Mir at the historic UFC 100 event have erased any doubts of whether Lesnar is for real. He has had his next title defense with Shane Carwin moved twice and now it is put on the backburner as he recuperates from illness.
3. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (32-5-1) – “Minotauro,” who already was experienced beyond his years, has steadily improved since first stepping into the octagon at UFC 73 in July 2007. Nogueira has been on the winning end in 3 of his last 4 bouts, including one of his most impressive victories at UFC 102 by defeating “The Natural,” Randy Couture. Nogueira also owns notable wins over Cro Cop, Mark Coleman, Fabricio Werdum, and Heath Herring. He will fight Cain Velasquez at UFC 108 in January for the right to challenge for the HW belt.
4. Cain Velasquez (7-0) – The American Kickboxing Academy fighter has quietly risen to the top of the heavyweight division. His perfect 5-0 record inside of the octagon is highlighted by his decision victory over Cheick Kongo at UFC 99 and a UFC 104 TKO of IFL-er Big Ben Rothwell. He will challenge Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 108 in January in a number one contender’s bout.
5. Shane Carwin (8-0) – The Colorado-based heavyweight came into the UFC with a sparkling 8-0 record and has continued his success among the world’s best. A UFC 84 KO of Christian Wellisch was followed by a TKO of Neil Wain at UFC 89. His UFC 96 1st round TKO of the respected Gabriel Gonzaga moved him into the driver’s seat for a title bout. Although the date and place have yet to be finalized, it looks as if Carwin will be the next challenger for Brock Lesnar.
6. Alistair Overeem (31-11) – It seems that “Demolition Man” is getting better as he gains more experience. The Dutch bruiser has been on fire over the last two years. Since winning the Strikeforce heavyweight title in November 2007, Overeem hasn’t lost, instead posted a 5-0 record with 1 no contest. While no bout is scheduled, he plans on defending his Strikeforce title sometime in 2010.
7. Frank Mir (12-4) – The 30 year old Vegas native was riding high after defeating Antoni Hardonk, Brock Lesnar, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in succession. However, after losing to Lesnar in their UFC 100 rematch, the two-time UFC heavyweight champ fell off of his high horse and back down to earth. Mir remains a solid heavyweight with a bright future ahead of him. He will battle Cheick Kongo at UFC 107 on December 12 in Memphis, TN.
8. Junior dos Santos (9-1) – Team Nogueira striker completed 6 of 7 KO’s while fighting in Brazil prior to joining the big leagues in late 2008. Since that time, dos Santos has easily stopped Fabricio Werdum and fast-rising Stefan Struve as well as finishing a legend in Mirko Cro Cop via 3 rd round TKO at UFC 103 in September. He will fight fellow Brazilian Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 108 in January.
9. Randy Couture (16-10) – Although Couture has dropped his last two bouts, first to Lesnar and then to Nogueira, he maintains a solid position within the top ten. The UFC Hall of Famer has recent victories over Gabriel Gonzaga and Tim Sylvia. He doesn’t look to be losing any of his fighter’s status as he nears age 47. He will drop down to 205 pounds to fight Brandon Vera in the main event at UFC 105 this weekend in England.
10. Josh Barnett (24-5) – “The Babyfaced Assassin” is on a four-fight win streak that has included fights in Sengoku and Affliction. Although his career has taken him on several detours, he remains a heavyweight force to be reckoned with. Rumors have circulated as to where the Seattle-born fighter will go next, but while Japan is the most likely destination, Strikeforce is also an option for a future fight.

Well I was never arguing that Fedor is #1, and sherdog has him as #1 for all time, the list I posted is a current list thats based on statistics and more recent fights. All those list show is that the majority of the better heavyweight fighters are indeed in the UFC. 6/10 in the first list, 6/10 in the second, 7/10 in the third, 6/10 in the fourth and 5/5 in the fifth. The only people outside the UFC that pose a threat really is Overeem possibly Barnett if he gets off the roids, oh and possibly Rogers when he gets better and gets another shot at him. Where as I could see any of the top ufc HW take him down.
Just looking at Fedors last two fights, he didnt even really look that good in either one, just got one power shot in to end the fight. Which, i guess could be seen as good, but shit Arlovski was rockin him until he decided to throw that stupid flying knee. And rogers was hangin in and for a second i almost though he was gonna pound him out, but Fedor got in a nice escape. I'm not sayin he isn't number 1, just he'd have some better more challenging fights lined up in the UFC. As it is now though, I hope overeem beats him lol.
Im not too excited about that card, and?
Lol you cant argue with him Raidr, hes a die hard fedor fan, his timing is real awesome, letting Rodgers maul him on the ground, a guy with hardly any wrestling skill. He timed all of that im sure to make the fight more interesting.
Anyway, you dont need to post 100 media sites saying hes the No.1 Heavyweight, i never argued that, i just have my own personal opinion, and you have yours.
Also, I think that if any one guy out of the many we listed from the UFC, were to become champion and beat every single other HW contender we listed (Nog, Mir, JDS, Cain, Carwin, GG, Lesnar, Etc.), if they beat them all i believe theyd be ranked ahead of Fedor.
