Monk - Snipers +1 or Woodsman's?

Im pretty much with skaw on this.
My gear is purely Acc, Atk, Str and haste.
More so str then atk.

The only thing i would wear differently at that lvl
is the emp pin and the subligar. I still to that day use
that sweatband thingy that gives +1 str. (Yes i know there is
a headband thingy that gives dex to, but thats just to damn ugly.)
Same with the Garrison hose. Still use em. I seen mnks wear
Arhats Hakama and stuff, but a mnk that can wear +enmity
is doing something wrong in the first place and i dont see the
use of +4 agi over +1 str.

Anyways, at lvl 64 i have +17 acc
and sole sushi and havent really seen anyone to surpass my tp building.
And be carefull if you beef out to much in acc your hits are gonna
account for nothing, as mnk hits arent that strong in base. And ppl could
argue for switching the gear out for ws, but a mnks DoT is as important
as his WS if not more.

Yeah, I'd say go for the sniper+1's over the woodsman's. Neither one will really matter, but you'd want that extra 4 accuracy if you're big on hitting every time. Although If I had a PCC and snipers, I'd be eating +attack food rather than sushi, but that's just me.

I agree with Cubs about the boots, although I've only worn my RSE boots since level 29(+3 STR>all). Yours are different though, so that's probably not as good an option.

One thing I'd recommend trying if you can, is get some h2h merits on your ninja, if they can actually level h2h weapons. You'll have a little more accuracy, have a little more attack, and you'll learn your weapon skills at lower levels. Of course, this only works if ninja can even get h2h skill, but I don't know if they can.

Oh, and I'm wearing Garrison hose over a republic subligar.

Yea i rarely miss on mnk, but even with having more acc id probably still stay with the sole sushi for the str/dex +acc. However I still use kung fu shoes instead of RSE (only for ws's) and seems to work great. Kung fus I dunno i seem to kick more often and often crit as high or higher than some of my critical hand punches (using cross counters atm).

As far as merits, I have 3rd tier critical hit rate up and that often gets me in trouble. I have found myself tanking a lot lately, throwing up counterstance and macro'ing +counter gear to try to not be a mp drain on the pt. H2H merits would be nice, pump them up youll learn raging fists a lvl before with enough points put in, which would be a devastating advantage. But as hume you do have higher natural str, be sure to macro in that str gear when you ws.

Kick Attacks+ does not increase frequency just damage.
Dune Boots and Melee Hose paired, your kicks will actually outdamage your fists.

Nothing increases kick attack frequency as far as I know. It's just like double attack. There are no "enhances Kick Attacks trait" equipment around, so theres no actual way to boost how much it happens, outside of just luck.

And 2 Hand to Hand merit levels will net you Raging Fists at lv40, 3 merits, 39.

Assuming you haven't capped anything besides Katana, such as parry, you'll still have 3 merit levels to spare.

haha maybe its just wishful thinking :D Just seems that way to me, but the damage for it seems worth it to me to use kungs instead of rse or fumas in my opinion :D

Skaw, wtf? WAR AF1 feet enhances double attack, but that's not the point. I didn't misunderstand you. WAR AF2 legs say "Double Attack" +1. Now I'm confused. I wonder wtf the legs do now. Do they make DA hit harder?

/huh

I dunno Mithe, just speaking from the Kick Attacks side of things. It might be the same thing as enhancing for Double Attack, but with Kicks, the +XXX just adds to the damage you can do.

Who knows, maybe even if there were "Enhances Kick Attack Trait" equipment, it would just be like loading up Kick Attack+ gear.

The way I would guess it for Double Attack Though, the +1 from your Relic Legs directly affects the chance, where as the Enhancement enhances your total.

Here's an example, Counterstance.

It enhances your chance to Counter. While it also takes in your basic counter, loading up +X Counter gear indirectly affects Counterstance.

Yea I'll have to test that out. I know AF1 boots "enhance" DA which translates to +1% DA proc rate, but the DA +1 on legs I'm not sure of. Just thought about it when you mentioned what kick attacks + does on your AF2.

Er ... >.> forgive the noobish question but... is it frequency or damage that the kung fu shoes/wulong shoes enhance on kick attacks?

The Red Slippers of Doom give +5% proc rate, do they not? +1% is a fairly useless boost, and we'd see a lot more WAR's wearing different footgear in that case.

I've been curious about the relic leggings too, which give Double Attack +1, but I would imagine it's just another percentage increase of proc... or... dare I start the rumour:

Double Attack +1 gives a second chance for DA to proc, if it doesn't proc on first roll. zOMG IT'S TROO U LOZORS >.>

lol, if it gave +5% every WAR would wear it over anything in the game period. I still wear mine until I can save up the 4 mil for hume RSE 3 boots. It's +1%, +2% at most. Most believe +1% though. It's miniscule but worth wearing because each merit is +1%. +6% isn't too shabby with full DA merits + AF1 boots, but the +1% DA on the AF1 boots isn't as good as rutter sabatons/Marine M|F Boots/etc.

That's why every thf wears their relic boots for that +1% triple attack over just about everything else. That 1% kicks in more than you'd think.

question for vang. have u considered comparing cross counters to t.m hook+2?

i think the DoT on them is pretty nice for a level 52 weopon.

If he has critical +% in merits, he will definitely want to get cross-counters. +dmg really shows up when you start critting.

As for the rings, I would proibably say to use woodsman rings till 54, then just go +4 str. I am personally not a fan of monk -DEF items. I realize that Monks aren't plate tanks even with the proverbial capped guard, but if you plan on decking out your damage output that much, why increase the amount of damage you will be taking?

By the way, accuracy, in terms of #hits/#attacks is capped at 95%, regardless of how much +dex or +acc you have.

Huh...

I didn't realize necromancer job had been announced.

i just traded my 2 snipers and 150k to a person for 2 woodsman. they kickass.

....You can't tell the difference in an EXP PT....they have the same + stats...and you don't tank.
