More Sony Mishaps

I agree, its going to be near impossible to get one at release. I'm not buying one until the price drops or something beyond amazing comes out.

The reason I think the ps3 is going to be the winner longterm is the fact that everyone loves the playstation. When the 360 hits in Japan, its going to tank. The ps3 is going to explode both in Japan and in America. People will get past the bad press and the ridiculous price eventually.
Everyone loves the playstation because of the games, and all of the big winners on playstation used to make games for Nintendo only, but stopped with the expensive and less owned N64; which sounds surprisingly similar to the PS3. With the introduction of the Wii, Nintendo is now the cheapest option and with 4 million consoles at launch(vs lol500k for PS3), it will be very wide spread; so more game companies are going to want to make games for the Wii than the PS3. If most of the gaming companies come back to Nintendo(not even exclusively, just make the games for Wii too), which is looking more and more likely with each press release; while the PS3 might not flop, there's virtually no chance that it'll take the top spot.

By the time people could afford to buy a PS3 and whenever Sony finally manufactured enough, the 360 and the Wii will already have a tight grip on the market, so people are going to be even less likely to buy a PS3, when they're already having fun on the consoles they bought. It's very difficult for someone to come into an established market and try to dominate it, and that's practically what Sony is doing with their late release and the scarcity of the system.

The PS3 isn't going to explode, because not many people have the spare money to spend $600 or more for just the console, then even more for games and accessories. Maybe when it's price drops to something reasonable then people will start to get it, but the only ones who are going to buy it now are either wealthy or bad with their money and have to have the best technology asap. I'd love to get one, but the only reason I'm not going to get one is the insane price, and no one game is going to change that, because it's still a lot of money.

By the way, the 360 has already tanked in Japan. I heard a few days ago that the gamecube outsold the 360 in 2006 in Japan. Microsoft is pretty much America-only, which is why they'll never take the top spot.

Although MS doesn't really have any JRPG's atm, and when they do I think they'll get a better foothold in Japan with games such as Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Discovery and so on. I remember reading something about Blue Dragon being one of the top 10 most wanted games in Japan a while ago, mainly because it reminds people of Dragon Quest, plus designs from Toriyama solidifies that. Not sure how it is now though.

I think Sony will have no problem when they lower the price, even during the Wii years. Sony will pay millions to 3rd party developers to go exclusive on their system for some games.

Not sure why Soul calibur III was only on PS2. But things like that sell more consols. For all we know Namco could have made Soul Calibur II for all 3 systems just so more people will come to Sony when SCIII was made.

Bah, yeah. For some reason my brain thinks its 2005 again. I'm retarted, my apologies.

So you think Nintendo is going to be at the top? It feels weird thinking of Nintendo reclaiming its throne.

so a game type I don't care about will be a pain to pay online if you don't have the funds for all the stuff... hehe.. *shrugs* meh.. I'd like to see how much Metal Gear Solid 4, FFXIII, and other games will cost and if they will have any added fees

While cool, Itagaki has already said that he wants to release Gaiden 2 for the 360 as well. He's always been one to put his games out for the "powerhouse" console on the market, but he loves the 360 and has said if he has his way (which he always does with Team Ninja) he'll make games for it forever. Dead or Alive needed a bad pick me up after DoA3 didn't do as well as they wanted and the online abilities of the 360 were part of the reason the series picked up again.

sooo instead of making a new Ninja Gaiden, Team Ninja is just rehashing a game that already rehased with Ninja Gaiden black...
They must of taken a page out of Nintendo's book.

EDIT: Yes I know NGB is just the orginal game with the expansion packs and not a remake like NGS is going to be.
Double EDIT: I still like nintendo but we can't ignor that they have been running the same basic games for years.

Well if it's coming to the 360 that's fine. At this point in time the 360 needs one more game to excite me into buying it. If Ninja Gaiden Sigma was only set for 360, i'd go buy one now.

Yeah, thats the problem. You can't not care about this just because it's a game you don't care about, because if other developers think it's a good idea, you'll see it everywhere. Remember, ultimately they're out to make money, not entertain you. If they think they can pull more money from their product, they'll use methods to do so.

If I remember correctly (which, lets face it, is half the time at max), Team Ninja is going to make games timed exclusives for the 360...

im still holding out for the PS3, althought I will buy the wiii

KH3 and FFXIII right now are the best choices to get a ps3 over the 306 for me.

1,200,000 available at the end of the year, not the month. And their numbers is just one of many, many, many reasons as to why its going to flop.

Still insignificant to 4 million available at launch.
4 million North American Units? Or Worldwide.
