My hypothesis for ToAU: Up to four new jobs.

I'm not so sure about Knight either. As mentioned before, the JP called Paladins knights. Knights would have to be pretty much PLD without the white magic (all JA's and such are in effect). Not to mention it was one of the upper class job of Warrior in FFI. I think they'd want to do something more than just take WAR, and give it all of PLD's defense JA's.

Well my opinion all these jobs sound makible heres my reasons why

alchemist (chemist)- We have a gill based tank and DD why not a gill based healer. They can use things simalar to nin tools made though low and some HL cooking and alchemy synths. But what would differs chemist from whm and rdm will be theyll also get potions with reasonible recast and cost that increase stats also like str and atk potions and vit and def potions. Things like that can grealty help help a party and disinguish the chemist from the other possible healers. Weapons I really dont know what they should have.

Time mage- I cant really thinkk of anything that doesnt copy over. Hastaga slowaga stop can be like a sightly longer stun effect petrify and tp draining spells. Thats basicly it

Knight- I really liked that Idea a tank type job with a A in GSD and skillz to parry and counter and a second job with a provoke type skill. But I cant really think of anything else that would make knight different from any other
job

Shapeshifter- I like this idea for the simple fact that its a party biuld DD type job thast more based off chr. Being able to tranform into a beastmen would be aweaome and hella fun scaring noobs. All the beastmen all have different abilities and you can make so this job is heavly skill based with abilities to tranform in to specific jobs type beastmen. I really cant think of how that would work but that idea sound very doible.

Dancer- Comon that can work in consol games but not this game we alerady have enough buffers.

All in all chemist is sounding more like a gill based rdm becaus theyll have elemental potions that can to DD with healing potions and de/buffing potions

O and in addition think with the way I molded chemist they can make wars much more effective tanks as well. What I had in mind was potion that also temp reduces physical and magic dmg by a certain %. Imagin a 60 pt with a war/nin tanking with a chemist as a healer pumpin him up with vit, def, dmg resistance, agl adn anything else to help him keep hate while keepin him alive. With the way chemist is turning out I acually wouldnt give them stuff like evasion and acc potions and the dmg resistance will be HL only stuff like post 70. But also im considering the SJ capibilties of chemist whm/cmt would be really effective as a healer with potions to save them mp. Chemist sound a bit over powering but to balance it if need be you can go as far as adding chances of side effects on mainly the buffing potions so keepin your skill capped will be very important or youll do nothing but hurt your pt in the long run.

I'm seeing alot of pro Alchemist here but do you all think it will really be necessary? I mean looking at corsair what we have is a job that Buffs and deals damage to a target. Unless their hexaguns run off a special ammo or no ammo at all we're looking at a class that will go through gil much like ranger and ninja. With that said you can see there are now 3 jobs that go through gil like water that fall into the main classes of the game: Ranger (DD), Ninja (Tank), Corsair (Mage, eh, still debateble). They wouldn't add two jobs that eats up gil in one expansion.
I think they will add another Tank class just for the lack there of. I doubt it will just be a Knight. The job would have to fit into the new story somehow.

I think Geomancer would be the new "tank" if it was added.

something that u can ride chocs on and attack with or a mission or something
like a knight ona choc

A Paladin is not a Knight.

Yes, it is. It literally translates to Knight in the JP client, "ナイト." You can't have two jobs with the same name.

They are two totally different things. First a paladin is a holy warrior.

pal·a·din (păl'ə-dĭn)
n.
1. A paragon of chivalry; a heroic champion.

knight (nīt)
n.

3.
A. A defender, champion, or zealous upholder of a cause or principle.

Oh my, seems they're both champions, yet, they're not the same? They are, they just come from different orders. One for the crown, the other for the church. Do you know what Dragoon is in the JP Client? OMGS ITS DRAGON KNIGHT LAWL.

As a Knight I feel that sword, great sword, and polearm should be main weapons.

Hay guys same weapons as paladins!

But it took me about an hour to write this little bit because I was doing other stuff

Or, you're just dumb.

PLD=Knight, is it that hard to understand?

I don't care what it translates too. What is the PLDs skill in GS? B. There are alot of things that are champions.

Main Entry: Warrior
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: combatant
Synonyms: battler, champion, combatant, conscript, dogface, doughboy, enlisted man, fighter, fighting man, GI, GI Joe, hero, man-at-arms, serviceman, soldier, trooper

The Steelers are Champions also. So really, what is your point?

Paldins fought for the church to protect people from the unholy. Knights are hired soldiers that fought for a king or some other nobles. Or guarded the castle or person that was their liege. Hmm to me that seems different.

Do you read what you type? You just said that paladins protect the church and knights protect castles/nobles...wow big fucking difference. Besides you have yet to offer any convincing arguement as to what skills they would have other than "OMG! an A in Greatsword Sword and Polearm would be ub3r 1337 cools!" Oh and that they would have no white magic...probably crippling them for hate control.

Less moronic babble more content please.

everything im pulling here from the ff orgin site

http://www.ffcompendium.com/h/jobs.shtml <-- main site

http://www.ffcompendium.com/h/jobs/paladin.shtml <-- pal link
