mystic wonders on the side of my screen

Yeah, because there is no possible way you got violent for some other reason. Especially not the situation at hand. I mean who gets mad and starts fights at parties? That never happens!

You're diggin awful deep there. It's almost like you're trying to imply you know him better than himself. For some reason, I have trouble believing that its rare for Chasym to attend parties, so if he's been to a bunch of them before and after, and the only time he got raging mad was the time he smoked weed, maybe there's something there you just don't want to be true. I'm not saying it makes people mad, but stop acting like you know exactly how they're gonna react to a high. I don't know what you're trying to do but look like an arrogant ass here. Take what he said at face value.

I don't get rage from too much caffine, but my Aunt and Uncle do. Should I assume they must be getting mad because of something else, or should I take the uncommon chemical inbalance in play within their bodies at face value? They only ever get aggro after a couple cups, so we serve them decaf whenever they come over. I on the otherhand can fall asleep after 4 shots of espresso. People don't always react the way science tells us we should.

and ive done weed a handful of times compared to the partying ive done too many times to count.
i never get violent at these parties, or at the bars. i dont get irrational or anything of the sort.
those times i smoked pot, i was irrational and violent and almost everytime ive been told it was over something absolutley dumb and for no reason.few guys i worked with pressured me into smokin with them after work before i went home one night, snapped on them too for turning the radio station in their car.
so my experience doesnt compare to yours, doesnt make mine wrong. im sure there are others out there who have it happen to them too.

aside from that you can defend it all you want because you do it, But just because you do it or someone else does it, doesnt make it right. it doesnt make it safe and theres a reason its illegal.

This can vary depending on the bud. I'm always a pretty quiet guy, even when high, but the people I smoke with - their reactions change depending on the stuff. Sometimes they do get blabbery as you describe, but very rarely. It's usually a "too lazy to talk, turn on some music" high.

It's not like they even argue, they just talk, non stop, about nothing. Hygene is usually sub-par, and a general aura of disrespectful behavior and absolute arrogance follows them everywhere. At first glance you may think I'm describing a teenager, and I am. These stupid shits are the ones ruining the whole movement. No one can take that visage seriously, and knowing that we are just going to see more of that same means we don't want it.
Then there's the corporate suits who smoke to kick off the weekend. Yes, I do know people like this. One of my past bosses, branch manager of a nation-wide retail outlet, smoked. He was owning the region as far as monthly profits, and top 10 in Western Canada.

If everyone keeps thinking it's only the skater punks hanging out at 7-11 who are marijuana users, then it will be very difficult to push the movement further. Once people start realizing that anyone they know could potentially be a user, even their close friends who appear to be the same person they have been for the past 15 years... then progress is made.

There are enough things people try to pass off as excuses for their behavior, we don't need to legalize another.
Why not? I don't mean to throw around derogatory terms, but I can't think of a better one: the ideology behind your statement sounds similar to discrimination (again, for lack of a better word).

As has been said several times: marijuana's bad for you. Like alcohol and tobacco, which are legal. What is the component, the effect, that makes it illegal? There must be some way to differentiate marijuana from cocaine, heroin, shrooms, etc. We wouldn't want all of those to be legal but marijuana is not the life-ending holocaust it's played up to be.

I can say with some level of confidence that probably 35% of the population in Vancouver BC uses marijuana. City of 1.5mil. Excluding the unignorable Pickton trial, this place is not a region of mass murdering lunatics rampaging around the city because 35% of them are stoned. This percentage includes more than just the teenagers and scrubs.

I just have to say...I've smoked pot with hundreds of people, and you are the only one I've ever even heard of who feels angry or violent as a result.

Jesus...I was at my bro's for almost a week, I thought this thread would've died by now, glad it didn't though.
I didn't read hippys first book since I don't have the time right now, I'll read it later, but the second lengthy post summed up pretty much everything, thanks for the referance material.

I wish pot was a form of currency, Canada's "dollar" would be astronomical. $10/g is the going rate here, $30/8th, $50/qtr, $90/half, $150/oz (this is all in CDN funds). What are comparative prices in the states?
The going rate around here is $20 a quarter for so-so schwag, I've got a hook-up who gives me some decent pretendies for the same price though, and the good chronic is $50 an eighth, $100 a quarter. And who the hell buys in grams? In all my years I've never heard of anyone buying or selling in grams until now.

Seriously, I refuse to believe that Chasym isn't leaving out a vital variable in the situation, or just flat-out lying to prove his own point, we all know the anti-pot movements aren't opposed to doing that. Although that is a little hard-headed of me to say that, different people react differently to things. I'll admit that by some random act of God it could be possible, but that's a one-in-a-million sort of thing. And it brings me back to my earlier point - responsibility. As with anything, driving a car, drinking booze, taking a piss, or smoking reefer, you need to exercise responsibility. If you know it makes you angry, then pot isn't for you. In which case I suggest percocet :D I was at my brother's because he just had knee surgery and I was there to take care of him and he hooked me up with an entire 30 pill bottle of the stuff. Lemme tell ya, this shit is cool. If you ever get the chance I would highly recomend taking it. It won't make you stupid or loopy or act unnatural(as long as you don't go crazy with it), but it gives your body a nice little buzz. They key to this stuff is to lay down and do nothing, if your moving around it won't be able to take full effect and you won't really notice anything, kinda similiar to pot but on a much more noticable scale, it is sooo nice to fall asleep to. I've only had a nicotine buzz once, not too long ago actually, it was the first time I smoked an entire cigarette by myself, my friend got a brand that didn't make me wanna puke, I actually enjoyed smoking it....shit, I got off track, anyways, the percocet buzz is alot like the nicotine buzz as far as I can tell, but for several hours instead of a couple minutes, and it makes you really relaxed and lazy and not wanting to move, like pot.

Because all "stoners" are the same.

Now you are insulting me as you disreguard everything I say as "Shit spilling out (my) mouth". Whatever.

In light of all that, I think it would be more likely caused by your lack of alcohol that particular night. If you do that every weekend and go to bars, you're pretty much an alcoholic. Yall get angry without yer booze.

I'm not saying smooking pot is right or wrong, I'm saying it should be my choice. Yes Chasym, there is a reason it is illegal, and if you read my other post, you know I'm very aware of that. However, you also know it's a stupid reason based on fear, hatred and racisim.

To me, equating marijuana use to violence/people dying/crime is like equating video games to people violence/dying/crime. The whole arguement against it seems as silly as Jack Thompsons arguement against video games causing violence.

$100/quarter?! Jesus H, is that a celebrity strain? Even White Rhino isn't too much more than average price here ($100-120/half), granted that isn't the best bud available but it's damn good. Purple Indica was about the same price.

As for grams - living on res at BCIT there were a number of people who would only want enough bud for a joint or two. I was more than happy to buy ounces for $150 then flip for $10/g, but I ended up smoking the stash and lost more money in the long run. I suck at dealering.

You lucky Canadian bastard, your weed is so much higher quality than anything we get down here. That $100/quarter stuff isn't nearly as good as white rhino, it's extremely hard to find anything that good here. Our KB is probably like your schwag.
I'm gonna vacation to Vietnam one of these days I swear, and when I come back, I hope not to remember even going.

Don't get all emo on me now. You already know we outlaw things just because a few people ruin it for the rest of us. Honestly I dont care. You were biased spouting bullshit from the moment you entered the thread, then you tried to claim some kind of victory ecaus no one was responding to you. What the fuck kinda logic is that?

You've already demonstraited an innability to comprehend what you read and have been trying to turn a thread about whether weed has killed anyone into a thread about the legality of it. Fuck it. This is the same shit I get from every stoner the moment health and pot are brought into the same conversation. It's illegal, because it's unhealthy, and enough people deemed it so. If people weren't so stoned, and they made up the majority, they could vote it legal.

Until that happens, I'll keep thinking it makes people lazy, stupid, and slothfull.

Exactly! That's why fast-food was outlawed last year.

wth is wrong with that? As for stupid, that's already been discussed, you just choose to ignore everything that's been posted thus far.

Having disdain for you and your name calling is not being emo. it's pointing out that you have resorted to name calling because you have no ground to stand on. I haven't said anything that isn't 100% true and yet you still call it bullshit with mention of what is bullshit?

This thread is about the green dot to the left. It has been derailed to the subject of a signature, then drifted to the topic of marijuana. The legality of it is very closely related to the safety of it's use. I have no doubt you can comprehend what I have written, but I am uncertain of wether or not you want to comprehend what I'm saying.

This is you choosing to not comprehend what you have (supposedly) read. Health risks have nothing to do with why it is illegal and you should know this if you read what I wrote.

Those lazy stupid slothful people run corporations, govern countries, win gold medals, teach your children, write books and music that you read, Cook your food, build your computers and design the software that makes them run. A lot of "pot heads" lead productive lives and contribute to society. Your reason for not believing people can smoke pot and be useful is that we can't makew people believe that we can smoke pot and be useful. See how that works?

Just because you post a plethora of information doesn't make it true. Your just as much biased FOR pot as people are who are against it. This is one of those issues that there is no neutral ground for, which is why it's always such a heated debate whenever it starts.

Trippyhippy said:

While it is true that pot has several beneficial and well-founded medical effects, those doses are very controlled. As with almost any medication or medical treatment there are side-effects, and those outweigh the medical benefits pot has. Also, what ARE you saying if BB is wrong? Thus far, you've shown that your in favor of pot being legalized and, again, are biased in your belief to why it should be so.

Trippyhippy said:

So we should believe that marijuana has no health risks aside from the smoking part? Why? Just because you said it? Yes, you posted links to sites saying that it is safe and poses little to no health risks. Problem is, this proves my point about their being bias in this issue.

To be quite honest, this whole issue comes right down to choice. Are people wrong for smoking pot? In my eyes, yes, but that's my opinion. Other's would say no, and that is theirs. I have a bias against pot, so I choose to believe that it is bad for you. I am not trying to get people to not smoke it or suddenly change their lives based on my opinion, thats retarded. I have stopped posting in this topic (this post being the exception) because I started to see how pointless this arguing is. With that, I leave this topic. Good day to you all.

P.S. I appologize to Trippy for picking at his post, and meant no disrespect by it, nor am I trying to incite another debate.

This is getting ridiculous. If you want to smoke pot, fine. If you don't, great, whatever. What point is there in all this sparring? It's like arguing what band is better. There's nothing empirical; it's all opinion.

Nothing wrong with debate, even if it does get a little heated. I've learned more about pot in this thread than I have in the 6 years I've been smoking.

Has anyone disputed any of my info? Did I post anything untrue? I tried to be as unbiased as possible, I even used fox news as one of my sources.

Now if you want to talk about medical use, the only negative effects are long term. Please explain how long term side effects outwiegh any medical benefit in a terminaly ill patient? Maybe someone so sick from chemo they can't eat takes a few puffs to get an appetite back.

What I am saying is that the drug is harmless to everyone but the user (if you exlude the penelties of law). That makes it a victimless crime. How can you arrest someone for not bothering anyone?

So we should believe that marijuana has no health risks aside from the smoking part? Why? Just because you said it? Yes, you posted links to sites saying that it is safe and poses little to no health risks. Problem is, this proves my point about their being bias in this issue.

You should believe it because it's true. Lets see you find a reliable source that says otherwise. What makes you think I'm bias? Because I smoke pot? I thought it was stupid that it was illegal before I smoked pot too. I'm not being bias, that's just what I believe. I always have, and always will.

But just as many potheads go on to lead unsuccessful lives as well. Am I saying that people who abstain from pot are guaranteed success? Hardly.

I'm not trying to say "potheads" are better than non-smokers. I'm saying it doesn't affect yout success in life either way.

To be quite honest, this whole issue comes right down to choice. Are people wrong for smoking pot? In my eyes, yes, but that's my opinion. Other's would say no, and that is theirs. The only opinion I want to change are the ones based on ignorance. If you want call what the police do with marijuana users justice, or if you think it's right to lock up smokers with violent criminals, your opinion not only affects me, but it puts me in danger by helping to keep the laws the way they are. I don't want to change your life, but I would like you to change your opinion. All smokers do. The opinion of the public is what keeps it illegal. I'm just doin my part by making sure people are informed. If you choose to ignore the facts, your choice can no longer be blamed on a lack of knowledge, and your ignorance turns to stupidity.

P.S. I appologize to Trippy for picking at his post, and meant no disrespect by it, nor am I trying to incite another debate.

Really, I wish you would quit picking and just come out with it. You disagree with me, but only in general. Nothing specific, just the whole package. Tell me where I'm msileading. Tell me where I have misinformed anyone.

You won't be inciting another debate, you'll be finishing this one up.

You wanna start some shit, biatch?!

You are inhaling smoke into your lungs. I dont see how ANYONE can think that is a good thing health wise. Will heavy pot smoking lead to long term health risks? Most likely yea, in the lungs at least.

"o noez11 zat noez tru3"

Geuss what it is. Inhaling ANY kind of smoke, be it simple as mortar and dust off of construction site is shown to have long term ramnifications. Why do you think they where those face masks? That shit aint healthy for you because geuss what, once it goes in, it stays in.

That being said, its a personal choice, you want to smoke pot, fine I dont give a shit so long as you dont do something while high to compromise the safety and well being of an innocent bystander. Granted if you are choosing to smoke pot I will lost likely choose not to be hanging around for that at a party or something. I cant stand inhaling any kind of smoke, be it cigerette or pot.

Its your life, you can take a hammer and bash your brains out as a form of entertainment, I truely could care less. Jump off a bridge, so long as you don't hold up traffic no problem here. So again smoke pot don't smoke pot, I really dont give a shit what you do. But don't be delusional enough to think that the long term inhalation of a fine powder into your lungs is anything other then detremental.

As for pot heads "ruining" their life? Who is to determine what constitutes success? Money? Happiness? Worldy possesions? College Education? Beats the hell outa me, give me a good computer, food, and a comfy bed and I am more or less content, throw in a pretty girl and now we are talking. So long as someone wakes up in the morning and doesn't think, "Why am I even crawling out of this bed" then they are more or less on track. (Baring of course your lifestyle involves doing harm to others but thats a whole nother story.) I could see making the "ruined" life case if you become obsessed and smokingy pot becomes the center point of your life. When you have to base your entire life around a personal indulgince, be it any kind of obsession, then yea that aint healthy. But its your life so do what you will with it.
