Itachi only did it because he wanted to see if he could. I don't think he really cares, but Akatsuki prolly wanted another Sharingan user.

Kakashi has not had any friends die to obtain his Mangekyou, meaning there's other ways. Maybe Tobi is a Taijutsu user, meaning just a three tomoe sharingan would work.

Kakashi don't have Mangekyou Sharingan, though. Why do everyone keep mentioning Kakashi have it? Atleast not that I remember. Can anyone give me the anime number where this is shown in, in that case <.<; Besides, even if we do, we can't know if he killed anyone or not in order to obtain it, since we don't know everything about Kakashi's past. Didn't he say Obito was his best friend? In that case, Obito dying might have given him the Mangekyou Sharingan, which would then mean Tobi isn't Obito.

And we still don't know if Obito is Tobi. You're just assuming he is, because he's weird looking and half-faced And watching the Anime, it seems like Tobi have shape shifting powers, since he's the one that disguised the two puppets they had to fight to look like Akatsuki members.

Besides, I still think the Akatsuki leader is Sand's old kage. He were the strongest Ninja they had, and he were "kidnapped", and they never found his corpse.

Kakashi uses a special new type of Sharingan against Deidara. He, however, DOES NOT have the Mangekyou Sharingan. That is not the Mangekyou Sharingan but something entirely new and different

And that Kazekage that was kidnapped isn't the Akatsuki leader as this is the manga talk here we know (those who've read the Manga) that Sasori pwned that Kazekage and made him into a special puppet

I have read the manga. But I don't remember anywhere that Kikashi ever used Mangekyou Sharingan. And yes, that was my point, what he uses isn't Mangekyou Sharingan, hence why I keep asking you guys why you keep saying that Kakashi attained Manekyou Sharingan through other means. Besides, I don't believe its the act of killing your best friend that activates it, but the feelings etc. Hence, it would be possible to attain it through other means, but that no one really knows exactly how, since it'd require duplicating those feelings and whatever happends when you kill your best friend. Although I suppose it could simply be backstabbing someone close to you, I doubt you'd still achieve Mangekyou if your friend agreed to it.

And I don't remember his puppet being the sand's kazekage? I remember it being someone elses kazekage. Although it was a long time ago I read it, so I might remember wrong.

it was the third kazekage that was Sasori's puppet and that's the only one that went disappearing. The fourth got pwned by Orochimaru. Fifth by Deidara. Kazekages are Akatsuki's little bitches XD

From what I've understood, the magenkyou is more like the "true form" or just an advanced level of the sharringan, we already know it can change and evolve itself(Sasuke gaining the third orbule in the fight with naruto), so there's no reason to thing that 3 orbules is the final/true form. The fact that Kakashi's looks different could be because he's not an Uchiha or it could be that they're different depending on the person, but it's just another form of the sharringan.

Itachi is a genjutsu-type ninja, so his magenkyou only strengthened those abilities; and his super-genjutsu was a completely different technique. Kakashi developed a different form of the magenkyou, one that was not a genjutsu form. As to how Kakashi learned how to create his new magenkyou, he learned what to do from watching Itachi use it. That IS the cool power of the sharringan, so while he can't copy a kekkai genkai, he could learn how to use it better; which is exactly what I think he did. There's a lot of credence to my theory, based on how they both reacted when Kakashi was talking to the Itachi-clone.

Edit: I just re-read the kakashi gaiden, and the sharringan he recieved from Obito only had 2 orbules, so he developed the third orbule on his own, so the fact that he was able to take the sharringan to another level is even more likely now. I can post the pictures from the manga to prove that if needed, I just didn't see much of a point.

I looked for maybe 10 minutes and found the chapter where he uses his magenkyou sharringan, maybe you should try re-reading the manga next time. Chapter 276, page 4. Here's the page in case you're too lazy to go look it up.

Yeah, not being an Uchiha could be another reason. I'd forgotten that Magenkyou meant kalidescope, but that just helps out.
