NBA

I'm gonna just insist that you two are blinded by fan-dom, but we'll never know.

Edit:

Did you see his shot over Lebron last night??... My god it was just so pretty.

This is the perfect example... You pick THAT shot out of that game to look at? Yeah, it was a great shot, but it was by no means a smart shot. Not to mention Lamar Odom actually showed up and played like the beast he's capable of playing as.

I'm not blinded at all lol. I've seen them play so much, and it's just from watching him play that I know. I'm not one to always agree with sport analyst, but watch ESPN...in the arguements for "Who'd you rather have..Kobe or Lebron?". 9 out of 10 will say Lebron for 3 qts then Kobe in the 4th. Truthfully though, I'm not sure who you think the best player down the stretch is, but if you think it's Lebron, then I can't argue with that all.

If Odom keeps playing this way, the Lakers will be very dangerous and almost unbeatable. I never understand him. He has the ability to be one of the best players in the league, yet mentally he just doesn't have it.

Also, I heard the Celtics are looking at getting Marbury if the Knicks let him out of his contract to back up Rondo.

Shyrra there is no one even close to Kobe i would rather have in the 4th quarter... And i am a bigger Lebron fantard then Kobe lol...

Lebron is not even my second choice lol.. I would take in exact order...

Kobe
R. Allen
Lebron

I'm a huge Lebron fan, but he wouldn't be my first choice either. My first choice would be someone like a Tim Duncan who plays the game as a team player, locks down on defense, and plays team ball. You guys look for someone to take over the game and play 1v5, that's not what you want. Even Jordan didn't do that, he used his weapons wisely.

Ugh, the Marbury rumors scare the shit out of me.
A. It might threaten Rondo and hurt his confidence
B. I don't know if the guy is willing to play team ball/defense
C. He seems like a total asshole.

Also, that's exactly why you're blinded when it comes to Kobe. You're a Lakers fan and you watch them all the time. I could make the same argument for Pierce, he has a tendency to take games over in the 4th, although last year changed a lot, actually having other weapons on the team he's started to learn he doesn't have to do it all on his own.

Edit: To clarify, you guys know I'm not just talking about who I want to make that one shot, I'm talking about the last 6-8 minutes of a close game against a good defense. If I want one guy to bury a guarded impossible shot for the win, hell yeah I'll take Kobe or maybe Lebron, and if I want one guy to bury a 3, I'll take Ray Allen any day.

Still don't think im blinded because I'm pretty sure everyone, including people who hate Kobe, believes him to be one of the all time greats. It's just fact imo. I still think you see Kobe as the old Kobe who had no team mates. He does play team ball more then not now. Yes he lapses sometimes lol, but overall he's more complete then he's ever been.

Marbury would scare me too, then again, you guys have no one to lead the offense when Rondo leaves, and I don't think Marbury would take Rondo's job though. They really would just want him to play some hardcore defense while the starters are on the bench. I don't think you have to worry though. Marbury wants out of New York badly, and because of that alone, the Knicks will keep him to piss him off.

Duncan is a good choice.. Tho now he is an old fart and it surely is showing.

To back me up on Kobe.. I dont think of it as him vs 5 in the fourth quarter.

Kobe is a rediculously accurate shooter, from ALL areas. Thats more then enough to want him in the 4th.

He is a creator with the ball.. He may go 1v5 sometimes but the thing is he is actually successfull in those times...

And my biggest Kobe reason is he knows how to get fouled and has the "Star" rep.. Being honest he gets foul shots some times when there was no foul.

When Kobe went nuts on the Knicks last week he made 20 free throws... I need him in the fourth quarter.

Duncan would be a very good choice tho man.

I don't hate Kobe, lol, and he's definitely a great player, but when it comes to being a facilitator in the 4th Q, he just plain can't do it. He gets locked into this "I have to do it on my own" mentality which if he doesn't fix, he'll never win a championship without Shaq. Against good team defense, that mentality fails, every. single. time. The last 2 finals are evidence of that.

Also, anyone who thinks, or thought, Kobe is "the next MJ" is a moron, lol.

C's definitely need someone to bolster their bench... Marbury doesn't feel like the right fit for me, though.

Double post, but who cares, it's just us 3 here anyways haha.

Kobe is a creator in the first 3 quarters, and would be my #2 choice for beginning a team (after a Duncan/KG type, not them because they're gettin old, obviously). His shooting % in the 4th Q over his career has been 7-9% lower than the previous 3 Qs... that's evidence that he's not as successful. Definitely agree with you about Duncan getting old, I really meant that "mold" of player, or the Duncan of 5 years ago. He is, after all, one of the 6-7 greatest centers in history, in my opinion.

Anyways... I have a feeling we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one fellas, lol.

Well Kobe hasn't won without Shaq; this year he has a good shot. To be fair, Shaq left Kobe and inherited D-Wade lol.

Duncan is a great player, though age is slowing him down. For some reason, I can't stand KG lol, but I can't deny he's a great player.

Shaq hasn't won on his own either, but he's the reason D.wade and Kobe have rings. KG is the man lol, I love how intense he is. I would not want to play against him though, lol. Just wish he'd play down on the post more instead of turning himself into a jump shooter. On the block he's unstoppable but for some reason he always drifts out to mid-range.

The Celts made me cry on the inside tonight. Dallas Mavericks = perfect choke artists.

I can't think of a single player who didn't have a great supporting cast to go on and win championships besides like probably hakeem. Magic had Kareem. Duncan had T. Parker and Ginobili, KG had PP/Ray Allen, MJ had pippen and rodman. Theres only so much a single player can do as demonstrated by kobe, KG @ timberwolves and amare stoudemire :[

KG is way good. way intimidating on the floor. He's like the big elephant in the room, his presence is terrifying. I would not mind seeing a Boston vs. LA rematch in the NBA finals, ALTHOUGH Lebron vs. Kobe would be awesome to see as well would be an awesome rivalry if it ever manifests into a rivalry. I wanted to see the Magic vs. Lakers though personally just because dwight howard is so sexy.

2010 is going to be a horrifying year. I wonder if lebron is going to leave cleveland, who are they gonna pick up to play with him. Pair him up with a good guard, god that team will be unstoppable.

despite being a boston fan, shyrra is still gay <3

God damn I hate you.

;D Yeah, of course everyone has to have a supporting cast, that's why it's a team game and that's why I hate Kobe's(and other's) "I gotta do it by myself" mentality. There's a reason you remember all those guys with their teammates. I wanna see Celtics v. Spurs in the finals just to see like 6 games in a row that both teams score in the 70s, LOL. Realistically it'll probably Lakers v Cavs, though.

It's not just lebron in 2010 lol, EVERYONE is a free agent in 2010. Well, not everyone, but a lot of big names. D.wade, Bosh, and I forget who else, but 2010 will be a crazy year.

I'll say it again. Kobe has been a team player for the most part lately and you're still living in the past, but the fact is this...he's a Shooting Guard and a Shooting Guard in any offense is only setup for one thing and that is scoring..and the whole offense is setup to get the ball to shooting guards on the parameter or paint IF that offense has a true shooting guard, which is why on nights when Kobe has 10 assist...it's something freaking special since that position's sole purpose is to score.

Lebron can't even be prepared to Kobe since he plays a different position. Lebron is a Small Forward and Point Guard. He has more options then Kobe does in his offense...and more times then not, because of that "Point Guard" position, Lebron is asked to run the offense, which means his assist are naturally going to be high. Also lets face it...Lebron is almost a one man show in Cleveland, and no one can convince me he has a team like the Lakers or Celtics, so yeah, he has to do everything lol.

Again, I'm going to drop the Kobe argument because obviously we're not going to agree. As for Lebron not having a team, he really does this year. The past years he has had nothing but Big Z. This year he's still got Z, who's a good shooter, not very physical albeit, but a useful asset, Mo Williams has been great, Delonte West was much better until he got hurt... Lebrons got a much better team this year than he has in the past. Still not of the Celtics caliber teammates, but still good assets.

He does have a better team, and that gives them a chance to beat any team on a any day, but in a series, I don't think they can keep up with the Celtics to make it out of the East.

I'm not even sure the Lakers will make it past the Spurs, especially if they don't get Bynum back lol.

you kiddin, lamar odom's performance was better then andrew bynums lmao. that guy is a monster. Although, there are rumors that the spurs might get vince carter. if they manage to keep duncan, parker, ginobili AND carter damn.. thats a hard team to stop.

I never said Odom hasn't been better lol. It's just the last few weeks Bynum had been playing, he was playing very consistent and in that 6-7 game stretch, he was statistically the best Center in the league.

I'm talking about a series in the playoffs though. Pau Gasol is not a true Center. In any one game he can beat you, but in a series he's to small to play it, and will wear down quickly. Last year is a perfect example. He's a Forward, not a Center...defense shows as well.
