Nerf Treasure Hunter!!

BLMs are not getting a nerf they are just making it to where manaburn isnt possible, that means they will probably do something along the lines on increased resistance with multiple spells within a time frame. they Quoted they wated BLM powerful, and it is they arent changing that they are just stopping the manaburns. That is not a nerf ...

If they had to change something about the job, the ability to manaburn would be what I hope they change.

Upside:
-Lots of people may abandon the job, selling all there gear, making the prices plumet.

-No more "/sea all 75 inv" to find a list of 20 Blm salt and peppered sporraticlly with other jobs.

Downside:
-Not enough people will abandon it, making all those extra 20 Blm that used to be in 4 ManaBurn parties go seeking.

-They may actually fuck with the mechanics of it, changing the way it's played and we have to engage to cast or something stupid like that.

We'll see.

Forcing mages to melee in parties: that would be terrible, but I imagine it would please a hefty percent of the mage population. Mostly because I can't see it only pertaining to "elemental magic" but rather spellcasting in general. Whms are getting nudged towards melee after all. This would make every meleeing rdm say "I told you so".

well maybe not bad per se... just a huge pain in the ass

In all manaburn KS runs, the orbs are never provided by the BLMs. To me, this is nothing but a free ride for the BLMs. You provide some little task that only a BLM can do and make huge rewards off it. To me, this is no different than the casinos in lower jeuno. Someone trying to get rich off someone else's laziness. It happens all the same, but that doesn't mean it's acceptable.

Funny i don't see any melees tossing up an orb for the ks99 i'm running.

Not that I give a damn, they would just get in the way.

Which KS would that be? The KS99? I do remember quite awhile ago, Phraust had the idea of doing a manaburn KS99 and he was the only one supplying an orb, but back then you had no problem with leeching from his seals did you? The problem people see with these manaburn KS runs is people work hard to earn those seals, very hard and a BLM gets a free ride into them because they literally are a guaranteed win with no thought or skill required. No other job has the ability to enter any KS fight, be guaranteed a win AND do it in under a minute. It has been so abused that BLMs will stack the job and charge people to come. The BLM did nothing to merit entering the BC and earning a reward except level BLM to 73 for thundaga III. I leveled my WHM to 75, did I get a huge monetary rewards? A constant cash cow I can milk anytime I chose? Or maybe I should just charge anyone and everyone for Raise III's since that's the one thing ONLY my job can do. PLDs should charge everytime they tank a NM. MNKs should charge per fist that hits and so on and so forth. You get the idea right?

Yet once again, SE never intended things to be so easy. NEVER. You want someone to blame for the nerf, blame yourself Odon. You ran the KS30 runs and advertized them so heavily, you are making the KS99 run, I believe you even did the manaburn DM, and tried making a manaburn dynamis. You abused the system more than it was ever meant to be and now they are nerfing it. I don't blame every BLM, I blame the ones that abused the system and I know full well not every BLM took advantage of it or even for their own gain, but BLMs are still responsible. No one else can be. You reap the same rewards every other job does but for a fraction of the effort and it was never intended to be so simple. This game was supposed to be team and strategy oriented, but throwing a single job at anything is not considered a strategy.

I forgot to add this last part. How long does it take to obtain 30 KS? 99 KS? Now how long does it take for a manaburn to do the KS30 battle? KS99 battle? Now explain to me how it is fair that a BLM takes about an hour to make the fight possible and I, the orb holder, take weeks or even months to earn enough seals to do this fight, but yet I earn the same amount of gil at the end of the fight. I have far more time and effort invested in the fight and yet the one who makes out the most are the BLMs. Where is the fairnes in that?

Lavi, no one forces melee to go w/ blm. your arguement on this point holds absolutely no water. blm do not go up to melee and say "we are making you use your ks30 for us". People work hard to earn those seals, that means they can spend those seals any way they want, including a manaburn. If the orb holder wants to split his/her gil, who are you to stop them? If they would rather go in a traditional set up, you dont see blm crying. Again, why are you so concerned with how people want to spend there seals. You dont want to pay manaburn a cut. then go as a regular pt with other people that feel the same way, since apparantly there are many.

As for other jobs wanting to charge for whatever abilities they have.. hmm, teleport services anyone? I suppose all those should be free. on the other hand, maybe blm should charge to warp people when xp pts end. maybe you should start charging for r3, I wont complain, I'll just ask another whm for r3.

Basically what you are implying is that you are upset that whm doesnt have a way to make gil as easily as blm. I infer this from the statement "I leveled my WHM to 75, did I get a huge monetary rewards?" Well, guess what, there arent that many ways for blm to make money. SE nerfed -aga farming, and blm cant solo for shit. Different jobs have different things they are strong at, and due to bitterness/jealousy over 1 ks, blm will lose out on abilities/

No self respecting Thief would ever have a Thief's knife bought for them.

There are no ways for WHM to earn money in a superior fashion than any other job. Except maybe teleport services but I hate that crap. 2k per tele for about 50k an hour? Yah, I'll take my chances somewhere else. I get the crap about being the best miner in the game and can mine Ifrit's Cauldron which has the greatest rewards for mining out there. Only catch is the thief with TH2 and superior soloing skills mines there too and better than I do too. Where does that leave me? That's right, I can melee bones for those awesome bone chips everyone wants or perhaps I can solo a too weak mob for 5 mins and hope my lack lack of TH2 makes things drop faster. See my problem is I have to work hard at EVERYTHING I do. It takes a lot of time and effort for just about everythign I do and far more than any other job.

Now I finally earn up enough seals and what do I have? A KS fight that has no reward left after the abuse it's been through. No melee left to do it because they all took the easy way out and manaburned it. No one who would even consider doing it because there is no reward left to it. See my problem? BLMs abused it so much it screws me over as the common player trying to get anything out of that fight. You seem to think just because I don't do manaburns (I admit, I did one manaburn. Yay!~ less than 40k! Makes those hours of farming seals worth it!) that it doesn't effect me but it does. Now I have to contend with another fight and never have a chance at the item I saved up all those seals for in the first place. You are right, I am not forced to do manaburn KS but don't think for a moment that doesn't effect me at all. Those belts now worth 2k on AH once worth 100-200k each are deflated because of the abuse. Firestreak would like to contend it would have eventually happened but that's utter BS. You flood the market with belts from a manaburn and you get lowered prices. You keep doing manaburns and the prices will continually drop. Had the manaburn never existed, the items would never be so over abundant and the prices would have stayed the same.

You're free ride to 75 wasn't paying for expenses as well.

Oh snap.

Lavi, there are multiple threads on our site asking people to do KS (the normal way) and we are always begging people to do ENM. We setup KS99 runs every now and then - just post under my weekly schedule to get one scheduled. I'm not sure what you are bitching about.

I personally have taken almost every Affinity member to the PCC BCNM.

You have plenty of ways to make money with that blue pearl above your head.

Ive already made the point about the belts. The market would get flooded with them regardless, as long as everyone goes to that ks fight looking for a v. claw, which is why most do that fight. The number of the fights will not decrease. the duration of the fights will increase. but as long as people want that v. claw, people will keep doing that fight, in w/e set up they want, and the belts will drop with the same frequency. If this ks30 has no reward left, then why the demand to do it still? theres still a o. ignot u can get, or a v. claw, or those belts that would have devalued anyway due to how many of them drop.

So thf can solo mining better.. they can solo alot of things better. No one is calling for a thf nerf (not seriously anyway).

And, as far as nerfing goes, these guys need to be nerfed some more!

OHHHH, the humanity!

I don't get what you do not understand. If I was to do KS30 Copy Cat, I am guaranteed 200k minimun just to win. Did the drops from that devalue because everyone does that? No. Unlike OPS people do it infrequently enough to not spam the AH with more than the demand of the items which is what manaburning does. It makes a guaranteed win for little effort and creates large masses of runs into that one BC. That one BC now has no normal consistent drop of any value so the only reason to do it would be to get a V Claw which would have been my goal if there was a guarantee of atleast some gil. But to many this BC is no longer even profitable because the normal drops are junk. So the choice is a small chance at V Claw and no gil versus guaranteed gil and no claw. To me guaranteed gil is better because atleast I won't walk away empty handed, but I still am nowhere near getting a V Claw than when I was when I farmed the seals I needed.

The ONLY reason belts dropped in price so much was because 30 people all selling belts at once is going to force a price drop. Basic economics. Supply versus demand. Every high level uses one of those two belts possibly even both. The demand is high, but when you inundate the AH with them, you are forcing a huge supply which creates huge competition. Nothing like that has happened with any other BC. To my knowledge Copy Cat is the melee preferred choice for KS30 and all those drops are 100k+, so why the huge difference? Maybe it has to do with the manaburns...

Foo, I don't even want to get started on that.

Lavi....if you want to be able to farm like a THF.....then lvl up THF. Its something that anyone can do at any time. If you dont want to lvl then THF then thats kinda your own problem then.

You need to lvl up a melee job to farm, and I needed to lvl up a mage job to solo. Well, I've already lvl'd up WHM to where I want it. I couldnt just not lvl it and bitch that I couldnt solo.

That's a great idea. I should level a job that I may not enjoy, spending countless hours seeking so sometime in the future I can enjoy the job that I actually like playing. How long would it take me to get thief to 75? Months? A year? So I can save myself how much effort farming? Not everyone can, wants to or has the time to level thief just so they can farm to enjoy another job. It may not be that hard to get to 60 but passed that level, it's hard to get an invite when every melee job has higher DoT and can sub thief for SATA. Ask those 70+ thiefs how long they seek. How long at 75 when exp is all cannons?

I don't understand why you aren't comprehending this.

If people would rather level with a certain setup, TOO FUCKING BAD FOR YOU.

Do you really need a lvl 75 THF to farm effectivly? With a lvl 50 THF I would be able to pull in 500k a hour. And if you want to be able to farm that badly, then yes....I would say its definatly worth it.

Alot of things in this game you have to do what you dont like just so you can get to be able to do something you do like. Thats just how life is also. What do you dislike more, lvl'ing THF or having no gil?

Then, on top of farming, mining, doing BCNMs.....there are tons of other ways to make decent gil. Gardening is one that comes to mind right off the top of my head.
