Nerf Treasure Hunter!!

hmmm.. maybe SE never intended for the game to be able to make 10k+ an hour in exp parties. I will admit, sure, I like them. I like them a lot. I was able to get over 50k in less than two days and flew from 74 to 75 with WHM. In a way it kinda feels like a spoil to be able to zip through a lvl, makes me feel like it did back in the 40's.

One of my best parties was in the dunes. Give or take the party was one monk and four ninjas and a white mage.. lol, we split into 2 seperate groups and started to chain tough-very tough crabs on the beach and goblins. The chains were nice as long as we stayed in the same relative area. You can still get good exp with out a full party if you're fighting the right stuff. Last week, I had a party of a few people on my samurai and we all went to highlands to chain gobs and quadav. It wasn't a bad party at all, and I had a lot of fun. We were getting chain four off of the goblins and quadav there since well... it's really hard to find people to party with in the dunes anymore it seems ;-;

Team work is really important. Every keeping a cool head and cooperating with one another I think is the key SE is trying to show. That is one of the reasons I left WoW after about two months. I really enjoy team work and I think it's way more fun than constantly soloing everything. I missed FFXI and the people. This was over a year ago so I'm not sure how much WoW changed since then.

I guess we'll see what happens :)

I don't see why they would nerf based upon manaburn exp parties. SE already fixed it once with the elemental pets in sea (I think that's correct) so that BLM wouldn't abuse that. If they had such a problem with manaburn exp parties then, why wouldn't they have just corrected the problem outright? I think they see this more of a rewards versus effort issue with KS being the main culprit. BLM parties can pump out 30+ runs in the matter of 2-3 hours, making millions of gil each and never having left a single area or provided their own seals. People come in the hopes of gaining some gil, but most walk away empty handed after having spent time farming seals which should have been a fair shot at some decent gil.

ready the interview from the last event in cali or wherever it was, it says why they are nerfing it.

They are not competetive great. That is correct, but also hugely misleading. The drops Hierarch Belt and Warwolf belt, once worth 100-200k each are now more valuable to an NPC than the AH. You could once do that KS fight and not worry about walking away still poor. Mind you this was a year ago when 100-200k was a lot more. Now you walk away 40k tops unless a V Claw drops which is still very rare or about 1/10 regardless of what BLMs tell you (Why would they tell you its low and thus turn you away when they stand to profit off you?). Any non-BLM abused KS fight still gives the orb owner some chance of gil every run. Coincidence? Or just plain obvious?
Every ks30 I've gone to, the leech was well informed it was a rare drop, they always went in anyways hoping they got lucky. Anytime someone asked I'd say "you do realize the drop rate sucks right?", they still do it. Right now it's not even that great of a profit to blms, so not many wanna do it. I get BEGGED to go do some and I gotta say no cause I'd rather do my Homework or do a ls event or something.

Blms are really abusing the system. You're right. A prime characteristic of someone abusing the system, is when they are begged to do something. Maybe it's the lazy melee's who don't realize probably any combo of 3-4 lvl 75 jobs can beat the same ks30 easily that are abusing the system?

Wah wah wah. You nerfed me so nerf them... What the fuck does thief have to do with nerfing BLM? Granted that is the OP, but I am still confused as to why you need to bitch they are nerfing your job so another job should get the axe as well. WHM cures better than a PLD, nerf them!!!! A job is meant to have a specific position in a team based game and the BLM is a DD which deals in damage spikes (You hit it on the ball) and most importantly the MB. MB is what makes BLMs the strongest in the game and will continue to make it sought after even after the nerf. You just need to be patient and wait for SE to removed the abused aspects of the game. Does that mean BLM will become any less useful? I highly doubt it.
Ever read one of vang's posts? I think many other people share his views. If I go CC against for a thf knife, I

a) cannot solo the NM like a thf
b) Can't claim as fast as some thf abilities
c) If by some miracle I claim I have leas chance of drop because of no th2

and to top it all off, if I claimed people would harp on me about how I'm wasting their NM. Because I'm not a thf, I'm not good enough to try and get a drop. Only thfs are allowed to do this. This is the viewpoint of -many- thfs

I hardly consider doing KS30 or DM easy with or without BLM. I do consider manaburns EASY. 16 BLMs all casting Thundaga III at a predesignated time takes no effort and I could have done it having never leveled BLM and buying an account (btw my BLM is 60 atm). No thought, no skill. 2 things SE doesn't look highly upon. They do not look well upon giving things away free which is what manaburn fights are. I am not talking about exp either. Manaburns are decent exp for BLM and take some semblance effort. Manaburning DM is casting 1 spell and Manaburn KS is 2 spells. Not really very much effort for a huge reward if you ask me.
Have you ever done ODS? those fights were made to be medium difficulty to a lvl70 party. It's dead obvious, when something goes wrong, I can take over 6 hits from those scorpions as a taru blm with 664hp. It's EASY. I can take any random mismash of jobs, have no real plan, and win it easy. 6 people with bought accounts would be able to do it, it's -that- easy.

As for divine might, multiple ways to fix that one fight have been suggested, why not fix the fight itself???

the reason why se is nerfing blm is to un segregate the party setups. they notice the fact that blm are doing manaburn parties. se wants to curb that strategy. the BCNM issue is a side effect. hence the reason why its being brought up. in essence, its an xp manaburn setup.

If that's SE's justification, then it is a poor one. Why target Blms? Wars, Nins, Mnks, Drks, and Smns all have their burns. Why single out Blms?

No the proponets of the nerf always come back to the scorp BC and DM. Still doesn't justify nerfing an entire job class.

And Lavi, you exagerate. 12-14 Runs MAX in 3 hours. Not 30. And after complaining about the belts deflating, you'd best never complain about the high price of something ever again.

my question is "why not" why not single them out? are blm supposed to be untouchable? every job will get a nerf sooner or later. most jobs already have been nerfed.

and let me get this right....it doesnt justify nerfing an entire job class? so, nerfing rng isnt a big deal, but now that its come to your job, all of a sudden you ask this question? what makes blm any different from other jobs as far as security goes?
show me proof of a nin burn party. let me guess, there is a pld burn too. just because you load a party with all of the same job doesnt make it a burn party. as far as smn go, they will probably be next on the list. monks too. but serisously, stop whining and complaining about being nerfed. everyone has been nerfed, blm is no different. most people are pissed off because it has become their turn for the nerf stick

You want proof of other burns? Look at peregrin's elitest thread! Jesus man, pull your damn head out of the sand! Fact is that other "Burns" outperform Blm Burns. Period. This is undisputable by anyone who has any experience with it and isn't just speculating.

For the record, I AM against the Rng nerf. In fact it is BECAUSE of the Rng nerf that I approach this with trepidation. And how dare you tell me to stop whinning after it was whinners like you that make this nerf a possibility anyway.

ok, ill tell you again...stfu and stop whinning. all of my lvl 75 jobs have been nerfed at some point.,..grow the fuck up and deal with it

and how is it i made this nerf possible....how could i have possibly been part of SE thought process to tell them to nerf this job. grow up, deal with the nerf, and go on living life instead of crying in the corner

Fine whatever. Keep being an ignorant little crybaby fuck. Why don't you just sell your account to gilsellers. They could probably use it with more skill, because with all your lvl 75 jobs, you apparently no nothing.

btw, what you are doing is whining about it. do u see me coming up with "omg they nerfed blm...the world has come to an end. oh what will i do" im not coming up with lil childish reasons why the nerf is so wrong. instead your making comments trying to defend why they shouldnt nerf blm...instead they should go after someone else.

and now someones feelings are hurt...aww thats too bad.

you mean to tell me, you didnt know...you didnt know that i bought my account?(refer to the accusation by another person)
and to elaborate. what is it that i "apparently dont know". or was this a sort of comeback that really meant nothing?

alanon, the only reason why your uptight about this nerf is because its coming after your job. if it were for any of the other jobs, you wouldnt be as high strung. but since this is your main job, your all defensive about it. i would be the same way if it was a large nerf like this...oh wait. ive been there and done that with rng already. but you know what, i got over it the same day. when is it your gonna realize there isnt shit you can do about being a rng or nin....oh wait, i mean blm

Can I ask you a question. Have you ever killed tiamat, jorg, or vrtra? If you have, how would you feel if they nerfed blms, and then soon after smn, since no job is left out from being nerfed.

If you haven't killed it, are you advocating a nerf that would make it even harder for your linkshell to be able to do said tasks?

----

Oh btw I -hated- the rng nerf, we were nearly up to the task of being able to kill tiamat, then they nerf one of our more important jobs in our strat. And kirin times doubled, and time to kill gods was raised, and things in general became harder, more time consuming and annoying. Now we're at the stage where we're able to do such events, if they nerf blms we'll be knocked down a peg as we don't have many smns in the linkshell. And I'll assume people will lvl smn to better serve our purposes. Are we supposed to be knocked down every time we figure something new?

From what I see a majority of the blms were against the rng nerf. Alot of people don't have this thing called team spirit. I want to win, and nerfs make winning harder. You just want everything to be equal, if it involed making other jobs stronger than that'd be a good thing, but rather you just want to make our job weaker.

FIX THE FIGHTS, not nerf the job.

its obvious that the fights were longer....like double the time...but you know what...times are back down to what they were before. just thought i would share that. its called adapting and overcoming. it will be just the same with blm. no need to sweat the small shit. no one here even knows how its going to be nerfed yet. most are just complaining about the nerf just for the sake of complaining about the word "nerf"

Who knows what SE'll do, but I'm arguing to the people who want a nerf, they're the ones to complain to SE and presuade them to go do this stuff.

who has complained to se about it. name some names. i guarantee you cant. some people are glad to see the arrogant ones that cant get off easy anymore. i know i am. not all blm rely on the method of burn parties. but there are the ones that do and they are a bit stuck up about it. does this mean i complained to se about it...no. does it mean anyone else on qcdn did...no. but, i highly doubt they are going to straight up slaughter the blm job like they did to rng. they now are fixing the crap they did to rng in the next update. do u think they want to make a similar mistake. i doubt it. i forsee that the update isnt going to be as bad as its made out to be. the only reason why any blm would notice it is because they know its implemented

why make it easy? easy isnt fun. you may as well hook up a game shark when playing online games. when i play call of duty, the people that cheat, it makes me wonder what the point of playing is if you cant do it with plain skill. why take the easy way. me personally, i like challenge if its a feasible challenge. would i attempt to do ODS with 2 nin? i would attempt it. just to challenge myself. at the lvl that nin gets nin af from DS. i could have easily raped it with pld. did i? no. i went alone on my nin and solod it. why? because i wanted to test myself. i was wanting to do sam af helm solo too. i didnt get a chance too because my nin doesnt have a buffer to survive a death. otherwise, i would have taken an attempt at it. why? same reason as before. a challenge. getting out of things on the easy path is definately a plus, but why would you want to do this constantly.
everyone wants to win. thats a given. however, what looks better...a win by a cheesy way or a win by the most challenging way possible?

I'm not against the nerf but come on guys, we all know how SE operates. SE ALWAYS GOES OVERBOARD with a few limited exceptions.

All ks30's are easy, you just need 6 people with a reasonable setup and people who are well equipped and know what they're doing.

I'm talking about jorg, tiamat, vrtra, and ouryu. (and Jlo+AV but I've no personal experiance on these)

I've fought every single of the CoP wrym to a %tage where we can say we did a good job and just need to fix some small things, and have beaten 2 of them. And I can tell you these fights are not easy for us mainly due to being undermanned. Nerfs make us need even more people to be able to kill them, making it even harder.

And to my knowledge only 1 NA ls has killed all of them, and also to my knowledge (excluding them of course), my groups were the only NA groups to take down wryms. I'm not asking for a gameshark, I'm just asking to not make it -even- harder.
