As I have passed on, it looks like I'm going to have to create a new PoL account. I've figured out that I'm going to go MNK>WAR>PLD but I'm somewhat stuck on a race, I'm having a hard time deciding between Elvaan or Hume.

Elvaan in my eyes would make the 'best' PLD, but Hume is the most 'balanced' so I'm looking for suggestions.
 
Whichever you'd like looking at for 100's of hours. If you have no interest in leveling other jobs Elvaan could be the best stat choice but honestly the racial max min isn't that important to me.

I would say Elvaan because STR+ will grant more damage which grants more hate, and the MND+ will grant better healing which gives more hate. Probably best choice. Armor is sexier on elvaan anyway... >.>
 
Yeah FFXI is re-installed and re-updated only took about 2hrs, thank you quad core processor and Comcast internet
 
Did some looking around over the weekend and I found one of the two CC's that would have been used for my old FFXI account. So when they get done with the maintenance today I'll be calling PoL and seeing if the card I found is the correct one. If that's the case my old account will be back /hurray.
 
Heading over to my second job to be, to give them some information, I found the CC that I was using for my old FFXI account. After finishing up at my job I called PoL, this is just an FYI at this point, if you get the secondary account verification process started the only way they will release your account back to you is if 1) the Secondary account verification finishes; or 2) you can provide all information for your account; Name, Address, PID (Product ID), CC info, Birthdate, I think that covers all the information they want. Well sending off my Secondary Account Verification page today so I should hopefully have my old account back soon.
 
Since you're only level 4, I'd like to beg you not to pick a race based on stats spread unless you feel like having PlasticSurgeon or Wardrobe open 24/7. Race really isn't that important unless you're deciding taru vs. nontaru.
 
Well put my secondary account verification paperwork in the mail yesterday, with any luck I'll have my old account back soon.
 
Well wen I talked to PoL last they said once they got the Secondary Account Verification, it was going to take them 2-3 days to decide on my old account. Once they have made a decision they will send me an email. At present I'm leveling Thalin as if PoL says that I'll not be getting my old account back. Either way I should know by the end of this week if Tsaku will be making a comeback to Quetzalcoatl.
 
Well my gut is telling me that I'm not going to be getting my old account back. PoL could still surprise me however and give me an email letting me know my account is back.

So I'm thinking that since I'll have limited play time (due to two jobs) I'm gonna level BST as a job I can work on when I've got the time during the day and level subs on the weekends.
 
To put it into perspective...

An elvaan PLD level 75 with capped healing would throw a cure III for around 193, and a cure IV for around 377 (assuming you're not using any healing enhancement gear).

A hume PLD level 75 with the same capped healing would throw a cure III for 192, and a cure IV for around 371.

Do NOT choose Elvaan because of cures..
 
Elvaan can't hold shields correctly... They hold em slightly behind their backs... whats the use of a shield which is behind your back. And don't say "Argo from behind" lol.
