You're not scene. Scene refers to hardcore kids...you're an emo don't confuse yourself with the two or try and lie out of being an emo. Also...

it's gay and further proves your emoness that you rely on this so much in trying to prove you aren't what you are.

That picture makes me laugh more then you'll ever know. And nevermind the fact that I have myspace.

lmfao, "I'm so sc33n! omg! Go ply ur gamboyz n00bz." So gay. I'm sick of all this "scene" bullshit too. And the kids who go to the hardcore shows and think they are all scene and tough and shit. Ugh!

Glad you enjoyed it. You know I could send you those undies if you're interested ^^?

I must not be emo.
Emo is the mind-killer.
Emo is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my emo nature.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the emo has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Ya know, I decided to come back to this post... :P Just to clarify my feelings on the matter a little. :D

The whole concept of "Scene" irritates me on some fundamental level. Probably because the nature of a "Scene" is to be exclusionary and painfully pretentious, two things I vehemently despise. Thinking about it one day, I decided that you could pretty much break any 'scene' into a few categories of people, which I'll explain below.

First, the Pioneers. They're the ones that sang the songs, wrote the book, created the art, made the movie, whatever. Generally, they're about as annoying as any of the losers that will follow after them, but occasionally you can find one that's not wasting my air. The worst of the lot are the ones that set out from the start to create deep, meaningful, philosophical works, since typically the best they can manage is pretentious twaddle.

Next, the Explorers. Catchphrase: "What's new? Seriously." These are the people that typically are first on a "Scene", and also the first to abandon it. You can typically identify them within a given subculture because the first words out of their mouth will almost invariably be "Back in my day", or some variation thereof. They rank among the more pretentious of the typical scene followers, though thankfully they're always moving on to some "new" scene so you don't have to suffer their obsessions for very long. The sole requirement for them to consider moving on is simply to find even one other person who knows what the hell they're talking about... Once that happens, it's obvious that their personal passion has become less than painfully obscure, and it's time to go find some new bit of trivia to annoy the hell out of people with.

After that, we have the Raving Fanboys (/girls). Catchphrase: "ZOMG this is teh most meenaingful thing i'v evar heard/seen/read!!!!" (Spelling errors intentional) The typical fanboy can enter a given scene at any time, though if you ask any of them they'll tell you they were there at the start. They'll set about rabidly collecting anything by the Pioneers they can find, spend a good half their day on whatever their obsession is, and consider anyone who doesn't share their devotion to be less than fully human. They're far and away the most aggressive of any scene-types you're likely to find, and will cheerfully (though you'd hardly know it) rant at you for hours, completely oblivious to the fact that you find their life sad and pathetic. I will admit, there's a certain amount of humor to be found in locking a Fanboy and an Explorer in the same room together. Just remember to swab the walls down with alchohol to destroy the forensic evidence when they're done mutilating each other.

Finally, there's the Herd. Catchphrase: "Moo, dammit, MOO!" These tend to make up the vast majority of any given scene, and like most large masses of non-sentient animals, anyone is welcome so long as they look/dress/smell/think JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Any trace of nonconformity has long since been sneered out of these poor wretches, who rank simultaneously as both the least aggressive and yet most pathetic of any scene followers. The quiet hypocrisy can sometimes be terribly infuriating, as these social lemmings tend (like pretty much all the rest of the people in the 'scene', oddly enough) to be horribly pretentious, look down on anyone that doesn't share their view... and yet on the rare occasions that you manage to get past their herd conditioning, they'll piss and moan about how nobody understands them, and they didn't belong anywhere except in the scene that has accepted them for who they truly are... The absolute saddest part of this particular category is that once a scene has reached a certain level of mainstream acceptance, much like the Explorers (though substantially later), a significant fraction of the Herd will trundle off in search of greener, less-trod pastures, all the while embracing the same concepts of imposed conformity and quiet pretention.

And there you have it, Raes' analysis of the scene mentality, in 10,000 words or less. I think, I couldn't be bothered to count.

My musical appreciation and collection, the obvious criterion for human value and worth, is much superior to yours!

LOL @ Emokid's replies, Panda's... stuff... and it's creepy but Sabia pretty much took the words out of my mouth with her long post.

This whole Emo garbage is nonsense. Back in HS, I played football. I used to go out of my way to be nice to the emo kids, just to see what would happen. Of course, 100% of the time, I'd get shunned and treated like shit from them, but hey. They're vessels of emotion and sorrow I could NEVER begin to understand because I'm not nearly as deep, intelligent, and I happen not their ambrosia, coffee.

Something from the first page of the tread I just had to quote (not sure who wrote it)
Never seen an emo by themself.

These odd creatures travel in packs to stave off the predators. Because, you know, those preps and jocks are constantly looking to stash them in a locker or trash can.

Also, Sabia... much <3 for Del the Funky Homosapien, Deltron3030, et cetera. Check out the whole Definitive Jux label if you like Del... you'll be glad you did. Recently started listening to Muse at Bikaru's recommendation -- damn, they're good.

Edit: To Emokid:

real life > in game

That's right, so why are you getting your panties in a wad over this whole situation? OH! I forgot. Refer back to the post on page 2, I think? Someone's friend wrote a whole 10-steps to being an Emo... and one of the pre-requisites was an internet identity. :)
