Next update on EXP

Konartist, you may have a point, maybe not, I don't really care. You have lost any credibility in this debate by your childish behavior earlier and there's really no point debating with you. You dislike me because of our past and you will agree with anything and anyone who disagrees with me, and look for any possible cheap shot you can make at me. These last few pages are solid proof of this. While I still respect Cubs and Darkdante and Sneakypants who are trying to have a civil argument with me, I don't think anyone on the other side of the fence respects you or Gims at this point. You should just move on because there's no way to have a reasonable debate on this thread with you. Please stop distracting and derailing with you bullcrap so if Cubs, Sneaky or Darkdante would like to make a real point I am not so distracted.
Don't turn the General Board into the Flame Board.
Thank you. Good Bye.

oh no im so sad Firestreak says I have no credibility

Also it seems to me that you care so much about what others think of you that you may in fact have extremely low self esteem. That could be the reason for the pot smoking too (your RL friends do it and you want to look cool) either way man, stop worrying so much about how people perceive you cause of how you argue on a flame board.

So we have to get used with more n00bs in sky and sea...

This is really what irks me. It seems, to me, that there is this attitude of "no high level job = n00b" prevailing in these discussions (not just here, on Alla and KI as well.)

THIS. GAME. IS. NOT. HARD. Anyone with a reasonable IQ can likely learn how to play any job at an acceptable/above-average level with as little as three or four days of browsing forums and gleaming information from others. I'd heard people say "Oh, Ninja is sooooo complicated, you have so much to do" but to me the process of learning the job is "Can I count to three and later four and occasionally hit another macro." You are only a n00b if you choose to be one. Knowledge and research are not hard to come by anymore.

I need to say something here...I think...

Anyway, I'm level 54, and I don't have the time to put into this game to level faster than 3-4 levels/month. The reasons I still play are:

-My desire to reach endgame and see what it's all about
-Ballista
-Certain quests, such as missions, BCNM, or even helping lowbies
-Some of the people

EXPing isn't too much fun. In most parties I'm in, even the good ones, someone is complaining about how not-fun EXPing is. The steep TNLs drive people away.

If Quetzy still had the same NA player base it did a few months ago, I would understand the concern about idiots reaching high levels. Well, I have to say, most of the people who left are the idiots. When I party, most people have decent gear, leveled subjobs, and are somewhat personable. Obviously, there are going to be people who don't know what the hell they're doing in any venue imaginable in life, but the ratio is down recently. My guess is the poor players all flocked to the easier WoW.

Just my $.02.

Cubs I can honestly say I would have no qualms about seeing you up in sky one day. It's just a question of if I felt personally that with the old system level 75 took too much exp. Granted with the old system, people who can't level up often are trapped to take a long time.
I can't say I've ever exped with you, but you seem like a knowledgable player, and know we both agree that character level is not a measure of player skill.
This debate is almost seeming to be a conflict of...
...people with too little time versus people with too much time.

And maybe the prevailing point is, if I'm trying to understand this, those with too much time get level 75 too fast... so many people are 75 now, when you make it with your too little time, you don't feel like it's as much of an accomplishment because it's been done before so often it's not as big of a deal?

I may be confusing your point a little with Ishaela's, but that is in my opinion, a strong point to your side.

I'd just say... it's better to be a level 50ish with skill and self respect than a level 70+ who doesn't give a damn about anything. Being 75 isn't all that great, the trip up is what's really important.

It's like that Quote from Kill Bill 2... "The number one killer of old people, is retirement."

And I don't think Kira was talking to you as much as... that the people who level as fast as possible with crap gear, are the ones that are obviously going to be sped along to 75 quickest by this. I could be wrong, but he doesn't seem to be a jerk to me to be talking about people who are just slow levelers.

And I will just add on... any one with gil CAN play Ninja. But I do think it's a challenging job to play if you do it right, specially when you're doing it for hours. Counting shadows, timing utsu, canceling ni, debuffing, voking, compensating for SATA, nuking, skillchaining all at once... for 3+ hours, while 1 slipup = down shadows and inability to get them back up is not easy. Even with the same gear, some ninjas are definetly > other ninjas. Like Mattaru who me and Moch leveled with last night. He kicked ass, barely even got hit. Not every ninja like that, believe me.

You could think I'm wrong here, but I believe at the end of the day people already accept me for the personality that I have, and if you continue this debate you're going to hurt your rep. Your arguing points aren't so bad but I really think Gims and Konartist are making you look terrible. You can disagree with me, but I don't think you really want this looming over you if you really do intend to come back.
I can be as civil as people are to me, and I don't think it's fair that the three of you are going to be lumped together for this when you are much more thoughtful than Gims and Konartist who are just trying to stir things up.
I don't particular mind if you want to continue this fight, but I don't see a reason, if you agree with me on this, that the other two going overboarding are making you look really bad, that you should be injured by this.
Think what you want to think based on the reaction of the board, in the game most high levels at least that I've talked to agree with me.
If you can't see the fact that just because you can't change my mind by trying to make a stink about it you're going to damage yourself long after people forget about the exp change,, you really need to look at this from a wider angle.
The ball's in your court. You started making this debate not civil out of frusteration, but I'll forgive that. If you want to continue debating me, try to keep personal flames out of it. I love debating but I honestly hate flaming. So the ball's in your court.

This was mailed to my box last night as I typed out a message that waved the white flag. The ball was apparently in my court and I decided to call the match. Then the ball was picked up and thrown at my head. Until Pupusa bans me there is no reason for me to not post. I'm still playing this game and for some reason I actually like most of the people on this server and wanted to come back. I do not appreciate being talked down to, nor do I appreciate little threats on my reputation sent to my mailbox. Go ahead and post my reply to your threat if you want because I admit I was royally po'd at the time. I wasn't the one who made this post not civil. You were with your attacks on my character, completely offtopic ones at that. I responded and Gims responded. Neither were positive replies to an assualt on my reputation and character. Also if you knew Gims in game you would know that hes one of the nicest guys on this server. He just doesnt like bullcrap. And after this lame message I have a feeling you are attacking my cred simply to get back at Konartist. Thanks for involving me in your lame power struggle.

Now you act like nothing happened. Calmly shoved under the rug, put the woman in her place. And you can't stand not getting the last word in so feel free to insult my mother since thats the only thing you havent done yet mr. internet tough guy. You can have the last word. I've said all I want or need to and been unkindly told to leave.

I'd much rather argue with Vang, at least he makes logical sense and has points he can back up.

Cubs, I agree with you 100%. You said everything in small words that FS can actually understand and didnt include examples for him to twist against you. /salute

Oh, just to answer the question
Elemmire - No one got compensatio when cap was raised (i.e. 50->55); what is meant by that, is that when that was the cap and people got spare exp, it went down the crapper, and when the cap was raised, they got no compensation~

This just makes no sense.

Explain to my why there needed to be compensation for furthering advancement? So they were at the top of the game. Next level cap rolls around. Guess what? 5 levels later, back ontop of the game. Your arguement is incredibly moot.

This is the opposite. They are essentially destroying hard earned Experience Points from those all ready at the top, and the others that are close by it. It's not going anywhere, it's being removed from the game. It disappears. You are losing work, not gaining work to do. If they were ADDING and not TAKING AWAY, this would be wonderful, but they aren't, so it's not.

see... I don't get why people don't see, this, Skaw. Why don't any of you see how we are being screwed over? I could garuntee that if you were 75 and worked with the old system of exp that you'd be against it too cause you are about to get hard earned exp just completely DELETED!!! All that work will be gone and we aren't getting anything back from it... it's bullshit

I sent you the message before our last few posts, before as you admitted, I made you look like an idiot, or you waved your white flag. You responded after, to what I think was a kind gesture trying to stop this pointless feud with...

I dont know your deal with Konartist but its stupid. I find it insulting that you are warning me about this. I wanted to have a discussion, not a flameboard rant. I've washed my hands of the affair in the most childish way I can, you can stop being a dickface now.

/peace

Basically, a slap in the face to me. But I got over it, and I have NOT included you in any future debates. Check all posts afterwards, I never mention your existance even. It was specifically to Konartist, and a mention to Gims, both of whom were acting like 10 year old brats all last night with their posts.

Like I said... I like debating... you can either debate me or you can't. If you come at me with flames this is going to be unpleasant for everyone involved(except for those entertained by it).

And I never once threatened you... I gave you advice. You apparently don't want to take it.

WOW.

This thread went down the toilet. Nothing new has even been discussed for 10 pages...At least. And now people are really burning some bridges and behaving poorly, on both sides. Plus I am getting really sick of people on both sides that have little more to say than, "Yeah!!!! See???"

Shut up. I vote to lock this thread. Nothing good is coming of it, despite repeated attempts to keep this a discussion rather than a flame. The update comes out tomorrow and all of our ever important in-game lives will continue.

No matter what side any of us are on, we're not going to be dancing in the streets are doing anything about it. Turn off QCDN and walk away from this thread.

I pretty much agree with you.

I'd say page 14 is about where this thread started getting extremely horrible. Mistaya came at me opening with an insult, which was immature, and I chose to humiliate as a response. I wasn't mature to feel the need to sink down to that level, I know. It's too bad it had to really tarnish this thread.

The point, is that we need no more explanations.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!
Nevermind.

Continue with the bullshit.

I haven't posted in this thread yet.......and I'll be damned to read the 28 pages that have been posted.

So Im just going to spank my opinion on here anyway, it's quite simple.

For those who are above level 51, the experience points that they LOSE as a result of this update....Should be rewarded back to you.

If you are lv75 at this update, the experience should be rewarded back to you. When that reward caps at the end of experience, LIMIT points should be rewarded as a result.

That is all, kthxbai.

LOL, good answer. Follow up Sneaky's post with a "Yeah! See? She started it!" response. I'm sure that helped get this thread right back on track.

This reminds me of all of the people that cheered and flamed when they heard Utsusemi was being 'nerfed', and then cried when they found out that nothing changed. People are getting upset about something that they are setting up in their minds as this huge tidal wave, when, in reality - as we will more than likely find tomorrow post update - it is nothing more than a pebble in a puddle.

You guys don't even know what the update is yet. For all you know it's going to save someone a grand total of 10,000xp... sweet, an hour and a bit of partying... way to flood the world with n00bs SE.

Come on people. Let's at least have the common sense to see exactly how you are being affected before we get together in a mass flame war on a thread that SE will never see.

I'm not going to get into the personal attacks, I just want to say something on-topic...

I for one support the experience point requirement change.

I do however see what the high lvl's mean. I'd feel totally ripped if I worked really hard for something and then have it made really easy for everyone else.

Thats like going to university for 4 years, working really hard, getting good grades, and eventually getting a good job. Then you find out your co-worker (who makes the same amount of $$$) half-assed his way through his education and still got the job. You'd be thinking, what the hell? If this dude gets it so easy why did I have to work so hard? For those of us without Lvl 75 jobs, this is a good analogy to think by.

This argument is really about what side of the bridge you're on. If you're pre-75, you welcome it. If you're 75, you don't like it.

As I said before, I support this idea. BUT I think that everyone who got Lvl 75 before this update should have a little * next to their name. The star meaning "Attainted Lvl 75 before the XP change". I know it doesn't make up for all the hard work lost, but it would atleast make you stand out from the crowd of the other 75's on the way.

Just a thought...
Don't eat me please...

/shrug to Mist. I admitted to fault as well. If you disagree with my assertion just click page 14 and read the first post that was a flame. (except for with Panda which is over and done with long ago)
