Nintendo annouces their new handheld

[Bajaratt]

Nintendo's new handheld is apparently called the 3DS, and is capable of doing 3D video without using glasses. There's not a lot of information out about it yet, but apparently it'll be out within a year. Might want to hold off on getting the DSXL that's supposed to come out this year.

Damn, it's not like I don't already own enough Nintendo handhelds. I just hope they give us a way to migrate our DSi purchases over to the new machine.

the $200 price tag of the XL turned me off but having huge screens to play DS games on was appealing. I hope this one has a good camera tho...my stupid cheap cell phone has a better camera than a DSi...

Images of prototype!

Nintendo DS 2 Prototype - Gizmodo.com posted a couple of rough images for what they would like to see in the next Nintendo DS. Running with their idea I decided to make a 3D version, getting inspiration from the Wii, PSP, and iPhone I created some renders. Gizmodo liked them and after I made a few changes at their request they featured these images on their front page.

I like the sound of it so far. And am kinda glad I haven't upgraded from my DSlite now. Will be picking this up for sure and am excited to see what they offer as launch titles. Nintendo never seem to fail with hand held consoles, lets hope they don't start now.

Looks amazing. Just hope they don't add the stylus features... That's the reason I barely play my DSlite
