Hm... Noone seem to talk about this but yea Odin Sphere is coming out this month.
Great looking game however as the game demands too much out of poor PS2, you tend to lag at big fights.
Overall, the review seems to be good for this pre-release as the only downside they stated is just the occasion lag.

Yeah I'm looking forward to this as the "spiritual sequel" to Princess Crown, I love me some good side scrolling rpg.

I totally didn't realize it was coming out this month. Been looking forward to this since I saw the trailers linked from PA.

Does this have Odin in it ? I like it if it has Odin~

Wait what type of RPG is this? Never heard of it >.>

It's a side scrolling rpg somewhat like Valkyrie Profile, Tales of series.

I would say more along the lines of Castlevania SOTN. This game doesn't have random battles like the Tales series or turn based combat, it's a side scroller mainly with RPG elements on it. I'm looking forward to the game since I saw it posted on Penny-arcade, plus it's been awhile since I've enjoyed a good side-scroller, other than Super Paper Mario.

It reminds me more like Popful Mail, if anyone played that for Sega CD, I was just comparing the sidescrolling elements, not the battles. 5 playable characters, each 1 has their own chapter, then the final chapter that combines their stories, each chapter is divided up into acts, of which are divided into rounds, which are further divided into battle stages.

There's also leveling up via tending gardens during battle that grow from the souls of the enemies you defeat. Odin Sphere is a niche title though, by Vanillaware, whom also did Princess Crown which never made its way here, and the games are very similiar, which is why I called it the spiritual sequel to Princess Crown earlier. It's a beautiful looking game too, comes out in NA only 5 days after it does in JP(and the game features both English and Japanese voices, you can choose which 1 you want)

Get mine tomorrow(the game, damn NA doesn't get the artbook ><) can't wait.

well i stole these pictures from my friend in his house cause god i don't have a good camera. just the ones attached to my handphone.
the game is really full on.
this game is like a story telling thing.
you start off as a little girl selecting books representing each character. you pick a book and you sit and read haha.
you only start of with 1 book which is Gwendolyn's the valkryie and as you beat the game, you get books of different characters.
i feel that the way how the story is illustrated is pretty unique.
the cat where you have at the selecting stage provides you with the scenes timelines. each character resolves around with another. the cat really helps keeping track what is happening.
graphics are just stunning. the great detail in the game is fantastic.
gameplay, pretty challenging i would say. probably cause i need to get a hang over recipe and stuff. (limited jp knowledge)
the only issue i had was there is some lag. but that doesn't stop the game for being great.
well loads of loading time too i guess. but since this game demands a lot out of a ps2, i already considered about this.

Amazing game at:

Challenging gameplay

Beautiful artwork

Really gives off that feeling of a mythological epic.

Fun alchemy/cooking system.

Fails at:

Loading times,

Slow-down with lots of shit on screen (wtf netherworld is laggy as hell)...

I own it also, overall it's a good game, but I think some of the reviews really over exaggerate this games greatness. The graphics are nice and all, but the lag kills me sometimes, and so does the inventory system. The planting aspect is alright, but the novelty wears off quickly. I'm really hoping I finish Gwendolyn's story soon, since I haven't really been captivated by it.
