Official FFXIV benchmark.

This is from a friend of mines PC.

AMD Phenom II X4 3.2GHz
4GB DDR3
64-Bit 7 Home Premium
ATI Radeon 5770 1GB

Low Setting: 3959

Well, I did the above 4 steps but I don't know how this will enable crossfire support.
Neither does it show any significant change in the score.

The dll however has nothing to do with SLi/Crossfire support but instead changes the benchmark's windowed mode to full screen.
Which actually is fairly pleasant.

Which .exe did you rename to 3Dmark06? There are two, one in the "Data" sub-folder, and the one that allows you to set your resolution and character. I don't have sli, or crossfire, yet, I am just going on the post I saw on other forums. If you installed the *.dll in the data folder, that is where the exe is that should be renamed. With the dll installed, the other exe will still allow you to pick a character and set high or low resolution, but it will crash when you hit launch; but then you just go into the data folder and load the benchmark in there. If it isn't pushing sli/crossfire still after that, I really don't know why then; as I said, I do not have that set up to run test scenarios, I am going off of the word of another forum and thought it would be helpful to others here.

When I load benchmark, either the one main file or the data file, it doesn't work ;; I get to the select language and race, but once I select my screen resolution and try to run it, it acts like it's going to work by bringing up a black screen and then says:
"Final Fantasy XIV OFFICIAL BENCHMARK has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

My computer is only a couple months old and I spent a lot of money to get a good one. Now why I'm not too savvy on computer specs, I know that my comp is fast enough to run programs like adobe illustrator with ease. So any help would be appreciated!

I did exactly what it said; I renamed the file in the \data folder and ran the executable, it started the benchmark program prior to giving me the option to select race and res. (which is stored in the .ini file anyway)
Then I placed the DLL in the exact folder.
The DLL does nothing for SLi/Crossfire, it only makes your benchmark go full screen instead of giving it borders.
It also sais on the site that that is exactly what the DLL does, make your benchmark go full screen.
It sais nothing about multi-GPU support whatsoever, anywhere.

Renaming the .exe does all it does, rename the .exe.

I ran the test 3 times on both resolutions to be absolutely sure.
Trust me it does nothing.

OK, thanks for confirming that. It is unfortunate, guess I'll be waiting until it is actually confirmed by SE that it will support sli/crossfire before I buy my second card for the system I am building for ffxiv.

When i look at Task Manager and go to the Processes Tab... is it bad that there are 71 processes running?

Wouldn't think so because I'm running 88. But I have more programs running atm so of course I have more.

Using the fullscreen trick causes the benchmark to crash, running it normally gets me the overlay, but no video.

71/88 processes seems pretty excessive. My work computer has 58 running, and I think my home computer is somewhere in the 30's... What do you have running back there? o.-

Home:
Windows 7 x64 Professional
Intel i7 930 @ 2.8GHz
6GB DDR3 1600
GeForce GTS 250 2GB

High-Res: 1800ish
Low-Res:3200ish
Not sure about the load times; 15000-17000?
P.S.: The Mito...Mico...Miqo... The Mithra are still the damned cutest thing around.

Running 85 processes here, but that also includes visible running programs.
But as I asked earlier, have you checked/updated your drivers lately?

Same question for you.

Word!

Running 48 processees here.
I don't think your processes are what would be giving you that score. I agree you should check your drivers, nVidia did just release a new driver in June I believe.

I had this issue on my other older, older, pc. I never did get it to run on it, but you may start with checking your drivers and DX install. What are the specs of your system, may help a little.

Got me some sexy new scores and I'm not even done yet with this new pc build O_O

I7-860 OC - 3.5ghz
3gb - DDR3 1333Mhz
gForce 9800 GTX+ 512Mb OC - 782GPU

Still saving for a second card to SLI with, faster ram for higher overclocking, and a faster hard drive. Here is where I spec out now though.

Low
Score: 4336
Load: 10241

High
Score: 2378
Load: 14086

I'm really hoping this game is SLI compliant since that's why I backed down a stage on my vid card so I could buy a second later.

My score actually went down when I enabled my 2nd video card >.<

yep i just Updated my nvidia drivers the other day to the newest ones from june. it did raise it another 25 points but nothing to phenomenal.

While i write this post im currently running my desktop through system recovery and doing all the cpu, video card, memory and HD checks from the boot disk to see if anything funny is going on. If i cant find anything wrong i may try a system restore to reset the pc back to factory settings and see if it runs better as a squeaky clean pc. Its been over a year anda half since i sis a system restore so its due anyway.

Finally bothered to update my drivers and get it running properly.

Didn't bother to run it on 1080, however, since my monitor doesn't have quite that high a resolution (yes, I need a new monitor).

Was 4348 on the 720 setting though.

Edit: And yes, I also rather hope that they enable multiple card support, since I too grabbed a slightly les expensive card with the plan that I could double up if needed.

How do you hose a system with a system recovery? Don't you just put in a disc and it says "hi would you like to make your hard drive look like me again?" Why yes I would, Click.

it got hung up at 99% or something, so im trying it again right now

Yes, I can concur with that statement. Raes does not like the HP computers.

I have an HP--well I'm building a new one but thats custom and besides the point--and I think it runs fine. Never really been one to trust OEM installs though; however, the hardware is fairly decent though. Mine came with an Asus MB and a LG PSU /shrug, seems decent enough to me. My only problem is that it's an AMD board with a X2 processor and a 250watt PSU, which is why I am building a new system for FFXIV. For general purpose usage though, I think HP makes a fine PC.
