Movie Paranormal Activity 2, October 22nd, 2010

Hey, I just that at the last scene there is a baby in the mirror but not in real life. Neato.

Baby is goast!

Goddamn. I went to watch the trailer and didn't expect the ending of the last movie to pop up like that. I freaked out and slammed on the X to close Firefox. xD

From wiki:

"The teaser trailer was seen with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse upon its release on June 30, 2010. Twilight fans in Texas found the teaser trailer for Paranormal Activity 2 so scary the advertisement was pulled from future screenings of Eclipse."

I read somewhere that this film only cost $15,000 to make...

I wasn't a huge fan of the first one, never really got me scarred but I also watched it at home. Got told it's mostly a cinema experience type thing.

i got about five seconds into the trailer and turned it off. i think i'll wait until someone in this house wakes up before i watch the rest of it.

I don't get it. Normally horror movies scare me too, but whats so damn scary about that teaser? I sat through it and didn't really see anything.

For me personally, it's a Silent Hill effect. A psychological build up. The anticipation that something MIGHT happen, even if it doesn't. It's the tension for me.

Plus in a movie like this, since the camera is stationary usually, I look hard and close at the scene for moving shadows, images in the mirrors, slow moving objects, etc.

An example of a scare for me in the first movie was focusing at the shadows in the hallway outside the bedroom, then suddenly the thing tackled the wall or something. About damn near shit myself.

I understand the movie is probably scary, I haven't seen it. I just didn't feel the trailer at all and don't get why all those Twilight people complained about it <_<

Twilight people

I think that should explain it for you.

And as for the trailer, /yawn. Much like the first film.

Well thats what I initially figured but there are people in this thread talking about how scary it is too so I was confused.

Apparently Twilight People are everywhere.

There's all around us!

Possibly in this very forum!

They could even be... YOU.

Here are several reasons this should not be made. First off, the original was strong enough to stand on it's own. It did it's own thing in it's own way and was critically acclaimed for it. The story doesn't need to be continued. I think you continue it is only going to weaken it. It's a money grab. It's not directed by the original director, however it is produced by him so I can't give it too much shit. I saw the trailer, and it wasn't good. Oh something wasn't there but now it is, how groundbreaking.
It's not hard to startle me which that trailer tried to do and even then it failed. They're gonna make the same movie again, and generally I don't like that.

I guarantee this movie is going to have an inflated budget that will do less than the original did both artistically and financially compared to the first one. This is gonna end up turning into Saw, I loved Saw, it was a great movie, good premise and told well. Now there are like fucking 7 of the damn things each one worse than the first. I hope, HOPE they don't do this to paranormal activity. What was once a brilliant movie that I loved will turn into Saw 7.

As much as I want to disagree and say that it could be as good as the first, all logic points directly to this. A movie is good, a sequel is made to squeeze as much money from the idea as possible and the second movie ends up failing in comparison...

I thought the first film sucked >_>;

this is gonna end up the same way as blair witch 2...everyone screamed for a sequel and it sucked.
