PCC vs Chiv. Chain

Your solution is simple, Q: Give me the Peacock Charm and keep using your Chivalrous Chain. Then we both win!

Leave sushi and start using meat, then you'll need the pcc.
(Ofcourse it depends on what you're doing.)

You know I MPK taru's on sight, not help them. Everytime a Taru dies, a elv gets his/her wings.

Head - Turban
Neck - pcc
Body - Shura
Hands - dusk gloves
Lega - B.Haidate
Feet - Fuma
rings - wood + Jaeger
Back - Cerebus mantle
earrings - super. + brutal
ammo - bomb core
waist - potent belt

Thats around 35 acc alone not including the dex, also with 8/8 katana merits, 5/5 str, and 4/4 crit.
In that case, PCC is a TP-building accessory. The only time you'd find a need for it is on Greater Colibri, however it's a pretty popular camp so it can't hurt to hold on to the thing. With +47acc and Aggressor (though no axe merits) I still have issues hitting GCs without sushi, I think my average was somewhere around 75-83% acc.

Sell it and buy a Hauby + 1. (If you don't have one already).

I wouldn't miss a PCC if I sold it for the gil it's worth.

i agree with this. if you go this way, its a 3ACC loss, not a big deal. And you get a nice chuck of gil left over.

Meh, I have a osode I use for ws, not sure I want to buy a haub+1. I could see myself buying a hq haub if I had another job that could use it.

I wouldn't even consider selling my PCC. It's by far the most useful piece of neck equipment you can have for tons of jobs.

If you're hard up for some gil, then I'd personaly look to other ways to fix that situation then selling your equipment. Thats never a good thing to do.

Also, consider the gear setup you want your NIN to have in the future. You might not have a Swift Belt/Speed Belt now, but if you ever get one you'll wish you had the PCC then.

And NIN is one of the main jobs that gets the most use out of a Hauby lol. Even the NQ will produce much better results then an Osode for Jin.

I'm not sure if you do level cap stuff, but the PCC being 33 leverages itself nicely for those situations. I'm thinking BCNM, CoP and ENMs which are always nice to do.

(*'-')

Bottom line: STR does jack for meleeing, same with the miniscule store TP. PCC>all

5 acc > 3 Str while for TP imo. 3 Str will not increase your dmg that much to warrant dropping 5 acc, especially if you're Tping in chainmail. I use Breeze for WS.

And Yeah, I've tried Osode vs Hauby, and Hauby wins out on Jin. I just use Osode on my Ranger.

Haub +1 is a lot better than osode. I use NQ for TP and WS and it serves me really well. If I had the spare gil i'd get the HQ.

You do, jackass. Remember that time we duoed BST?

None of the arguments for CC make any sense. If you wanted the extra strength you'd swap in a STR ring, and keep the PCC on. There is no combination of gear using CC that doesnt have a superior alternative using PCC. This is not a subjective opinion, but an absolute fact; PCC setup will give you more ACC with the same STR, or more STR with the same ACC.

Oh, and a ninja should be using Shura Kabuto and a Breeze gorget for ws.

No, you're right Rormant. PCC is better than CC for TPing. What I'd say... is CC is a perfectly viable alternative for PCC/PCA even for TPing.

But we're talking about 2.xm versus 200k. For the monetarily minded folks that's factored into the equasion. And not everyone has a Breeze Gorget.

point in case: unless you have a sea torque, pcc is by far one of the most effective slots to have ACC equipped in, allowing you to use other slots that have better stats, available for equipment.

For merits parties at least, for most camps if you want to eat attack food and still hit consistently so you can come out on top in parses you are going to want that PCC. If you've only built your gear to support sushi then yea, the PCC won't make that big of a difference.

it's rather obvious that the pcc or chiv chain are situational and realistically if you're fanatic about damage output you will carry both. sucks huh? depending on your other gear, your merits, A A+ or A- in your weapons skill ect... if you're at 100% accuracy and hitting low it's pointless, if you're at 90% and hitting for BIG it's better. Str will only make a significant impact on your WS's of course, and if the att+ puts you over an att:def ratio tier. working on the basis that att vs def ratio is rerolled every swing with something like blitzball shot vs catch in FFX(and i have pretty good parse support on this).

like i says, If it's hard to choose between 2 gear pieces, that means you should carry both. and there's probably some third fourth and fifth that you should have too. there is not slot with only one gear piece, except maybe ace's helm on the applicable jobs.
