Back when my wife played, she always had this dude hitting her up, giving her items (random crap like flowers and gear and shit) she kept blisting the dude, but he would just create a mule and keep sending her tells and shit. Think he got temp banned for harassment once she GMed him.

I say nay on the comparison made by Zyndara. Its not the same "having to suck off/sleep with your boss to get the next promotion" and "saying fuck you to a shitty leader and in turn getting kicked from an endgame shell" cuz you can easily press charges and file lawsuits against such behavior in RL, but in FFXI, hah, yeah right.

Either way, in this case I think BOTH parties were wrong, Karma and his chick for letting that shit get outta hand, and Skilled for going so far as to try to pull the pity and sympathy crap on her (and possibly other chicks according to Bigbroon?). Some lulz here but mostly crap.

The "tactics" that this guy used to land chicks sounds like me at 16 years old (I'm 24 now and realize how retarded that is). What separates the "me" from then and him now is that I didn't run away with my tail between my legs. Gotta man up and deal with your problems, y'know? Especially problems that YOU create.

And he's married too? That's really sad.

If I were one of his "e-girlfriends", I'd probably just troll him, get his RL phone number, call his house and tell his wife. It's really sad if he's doing that behind his wife's back. She deserves to know.

I wonder if the guy really did jump servers.

So did I. Funny thing is, me and my wife had our TVs right next to each other (makes dual boxing easier) so I would get to see all of his attempts at hitting on her! Once he got out of hand tho, I had to throw on my pimp glove and slap him around a bit (which is when he got GMed).

You're missing the point entirely. This isn't a discussion about real life = FFXI. You have recourse either way, that's the point. It's someone abusing leadership and me not agreeing with someone saying well you are forced to do what they want or lose your hard work. The point is, you make choices. You make choices in life. Some of them are tough ones. Making a choice to whore out because you don't want to lose your shot at the next homam piece is pretty pathetic. Don't tell me you have to do that because that's bullshit.

And discussion of the point of the whole topic's too much for you huh DeviFoxx? Oh well. Feel free to skip it next time.

Don't get butt hurt just because I stated the obvious. For the record, if you actually read what I said, I basically DID skip it.

You weren't talking about the point of the whole topic, really. You basically derailed it into another subsection. I wanted to get it back on topic by bringing back up the OP and the person being flamed--If I were interested in discussing the ethics and morality of the actions of both parties, I certainly wouldn't come to a video game forum to scrutinize it.

If you want to know my take on it, I agree with what Hexx said to be honest. I see what you TRIED to say, but frankly, the metaphor you used to compare this situation to wasn't apt in my opinion.

If you want to make it a known fact that "real life isn't = to FFXI", then don't use analogies that compare real life to FFXI. It's self-defeating.

On the contrary, YOU missed the point, friend. YOU brought RL into this with your comparison (which really doesn't work btw). To you, it may be easy to just skip out on all the time invested (and it is to me as well to be honest) but not to EVERYONE. What IS and ISNT pathetic in this game is really up to each and every individual that plays.

Some of us frown on e-lationships, and yet some of those have blossomed into the real thing (I know quite a few to be honest), some of us frown on the shadiness or botting, or RMTing, or w/e other shady thing you can think of, and yet others dont. You generalizing only defeats what you are trying to say. You tried to make a point, but it wasn't the best way to express it.

Yes its stupid to whore yourself out, but then again thats just OUR point of view. I'll admit though, I for one wouldnt want to start from scratch EVERY time an EG shell leader pisses me off, so Ill kiss a little ass here and there until i get what I want/earn.

And I stand by what I said that real life = FF is not what I was saying at all. It's called an analogy. I'm sure you know what that means. And the situation is a very reasonable comparison. If you're playing a video game by yourself, yeah no morals come into play. When you interact with other people, not pixels, fucking people, it's more than just a video game, it's a social interaction. So yeah, morals, behavior... these things are valid concerns and have everything to do with this conversation.

The OP went to a lot of trouble to make fun of this guy for being pathetic and humiliate him for being sleazy to get what he wanted and then he points out that he and his girlfriend laughed at the guy and he thanks him for helping her with missions and various things. She wasn't some helpless victim here, she used the guy. Whether he was a leader of her shell or not, she did something just as pathetic and sleazy by playing into it.

Im not, and dont think anyone else, has disagreed that karma's (and his GF's) actions weren't sleazy, but I doubt Skilled is any less at-fault for pulling that kind of shit Zyn. As we have seen time and time again on these forums, very FEW people have any sort of morals or ideals in FFXI.......And what Devi is tryin to say I think is that little to and fro with Bigbroon was not needed because you BOTH agreed just seemed to not understand that fact.
 
Theres many hume female characters I suspect that got their awesome gear not through hard work but by a smile and a wink to the lonely LS leader, note I say characters here, this is not aimed at female players that work hard in this game.

This happens alot in rl workplaces I am not suprised it occurs in virtual work also (end game requires much effort and is much like a job) best to keep the socialising away when in those work shells.

I think your girlfriend is a whore if it really got to that point. And if you knew the progression that made it get to that point all along, I think you're kinda weird for allowing it.

Also, unless this mythical "girlfriend" is litterally sleeping with lots of people, she's not a whore. And it wouldn't be the first or the last time a chick has used a desperate man to get what she wants. Can't blame her too much either, I'd probably do the same.
 
I only read through a few of these posts. I will make this short and sweet and will not post again unless unSkilled chooses to defend himself.

1- Sket is a whore.
2- Of course there are screen pictures. I will post them the minute Skilled comes here to defend himself. But as Big Broon said, Skilled will not because he cannot dispute the facts and he does not want screenshots posted to detail his doucheness.
3- Names were withheld to protect the innocent and maybe not so innocent. Anyone referred to knows who they are. The more names that are released changes the nature of the flame. Let's stay on topic.
4 - I did not whore out my girl for items. He tried to be friends with us and said he was helping us out. But what he was really doing was helping himself and once we saw that, we told him to fuck off.
