POL NEWS: User Agreement Violators Terminated and info on Kraken Club

These reports are always nice to see. After last holiday season, I feared a repeat of the massive inflation. It's good to see that this won't happen again. I imagine a significant portion of the population (besides the ones punished here) are sobbing over this more proactive SE. Lots of people planned on massive inflation and hoarded big ticket items to cash in on later. I can't imagine all the gil they've wasted, having to resell at a significant loss. Can't say I'm overly sympathetic, though.

I've quested each of the first 3 teleport scrolls 3 times. It's easy to do with a mule, especially when Boyahda Moss is less than you get as a reward for the bastok/sandy quest. Windy fame is easy with a bastok mule during the one week every few months that bastok isn't in last place.
Tele scrolls are easy, sure. But Warp2? Who's gonna haul their mules out to Beaucedine for a 50k scroll?

Maybe it was someone stockpiling in an attempt to corner the market before an expected inflation.

Absolutely possible.

It could very well be a legit main who just has a buttload of scrolls to sell, but with all the recent talk of item duping and a few well-timed emergency maintenances it just sorta pieced itself together.

He sold 2-6 teleport-alteps per day for nearly a month at around 40k a pop. I find it really difficult to believe that a non-rmt person has an army of mules just to quest with and sell scrolls at at stupidly-low prices.

He sold 13 tele-dems in 7 days. A bit below the number of altep scrolls he was selling (and probably warp II) but still pretty suspicious.

If that's the case I'm not sure why they started unloading them in November...wouldn't they wait to make sure there wasn't going to be a rush? Also why under cut the market from 200k+ on tele-altep down to 40k a piece? I can understand wanting to get rid of stuff fast but that's a little ridiculous considering there isn't that much competition on selling tele scrolls.

I didn't know the price dropped that much, but I was kinda thinking the same. RMT don't usually hold items in bulk and wait for the price to go up; they get the item and they sell it asap.

Anyone hear reports of people getting KClubs to drop yet?
Personally, no. But there was that emergency maintenance on Waughroon last night or this morning I believe so they must have either set the drop rate too high or forgot to add it to the list.

Yeah, when I saw how the tele-altep scrolls were being sold I just assumed it was probably a bunch of rmt doing the quest at once and then having one character sell them all. But, I really can't say for sure. I guess it could be a stockpiler but if it is I think they really screwed themselves on pricing. Personally I think it seems too fishy for a person stockpiling but I could be wrong. =P

Haven't heard of this "You", But I still fail to believe they are crafting 400+ Capes a week. which is roughly how many it would take at Tier1 HQ of 10% on a good moon, more on a bad moon/day.

First off day/moon/direction is a bunch of horse shit.

You is an Old school JP who had 99 cloth when when I had 0 cloth, over 2 years ago.

It's very easy to make that many capes, you don't even need the materials for 400+ capes. You just have to desynth the NQ's.

proof plz
test it yourself against someone who doesnt have windower for about 20 min, The windower hooks into ffxi itself, and in bursts when your pc reads those hooks, it gives you a boost of speed in your walking. This is why many have been accused or suspended for fleetooling that havent and didnt know this.

I lol every time I read the "I knew it! everyone said it wasnt a cheat, but I knew it!"

rofl

It's not as if the movement speed stuff was widely available or talked about information until relatively recently. At the very least i wouldn't call most of the folks who use a windower malicious cheaters. There's a difference between grabbing it knowing of an unrelated advantage and just wanting to browse the web while playing. :P

Some of us have a slow enough pc that with or without windower we still can't keep up with anyone. ; ;

Day and moon are definately factors in HQ rate, and there are other factors besides those.

And to Chasym, GM's don't always know what they're talking about. If you need proof, look at Uzor's GM convo picture where the GM said teamspeak was a violation as a 3rd party tool, despite the fact that it doesn't interact in any way with the game.

Want some uber hacks? Unplug and quickly replugin your ethernet cable while you're walking. HOLY SHIT TELEPORT HACKS.

I honestly think this constant banning solves nothing. Each server just lost about 250 accounts and I can guarantee there are far more than that on our server alone. My thought is the sellers have already adapted to these bannings. Think about it, there are constantly RMT groups leveling which to be honest is seems pointless at first glance. Too many RMT means too much gil which lowers the value of the gil and forces them to pay more for all the accounts thus ultimately less profit. But what if they planned for being banned and created new accounts in preparation? By the time the current 75's get banned, they already have a new unused 75 waiting and reading to start farming the next day. The only way to get rid of them is to take severe, drastic zero tolerance policies and these bannings are just not enough. 2-3 years ago, it might have been a good fix, now it's just a duct tape quick fix and it barely even cuts it at that.

well Lavi maybe you're giving the RMT's to much credit. and i see one major example that what SE is doing is making a differance. im sure you remember that big inflation phenomena last year? where is it this year?

there is no "fix" to this problem really. all SE can do is patch up the holes RMT's slip through till they burrow a new one.

There has never been any conclusive evidence that it does. The only things that matter are the random number generator and the tier your at. After I stopped caring about it, I started crafting when I wanted to and haven't noticed any significant change in HQ rates.

I must have had a super lite version because I couldn't out run anyone and I could never win those chocobo race quests.
