Pros and Cons of Dragoon and Ninja

Honestly people, drks dont really whiff much at all, i may miss 1-2 hits per fight max, and yes Blood weapon is badass, when you have links pop SE + BW to get 300+ hp back per swing, and when you're /war using pole strap and you double attack.. that 600+ hp is a lot more then then lousy 170~ the monster will be doing to you.

as i said. the myths of old will never die. i never bought into that "drk have the lowest acc of all melee" garbage either.

Don't forget, there was a time before the two handed update when Sushi didn't exist and accuracy was a huge issue. I leveled my DRK up to 37 for my sub and in all that time, the only time I bothered to use my two hours were in dire emergencies. In every single instance, it was a massive whiff fest and maybe 1-2 swings of 4-5 swings actually landed. I leveled both WAR and DRK up to around 27-30 range together since they shared the same gear and I can't recall having such bad issues with WAR. Now, I'll admit they shouldn't have a vast difference in accuracy, maybe 1-2 dex, but I think the issue was more of the accuracy not being there when I needed it most that makes it seem worse than it really was.

well there are many pros and cons for these 2 jobs as there are for all jobs but the main ones are that Dragoon's wyverns do not have commands as other pets do which is very unfair I believe that should have been one of the first changes to drg. Ninjas could have also gain improvment from battle enhancement ninjutsu as well instead of having only effebling and shadows in battle example. en-spells

ahhh valid point i forgot about the 2H update, which drastically increased accuracy.

and blazeoffury: 1-2 hits max per fight eh? hmmm seems a bit...low... anyways...

Back in the day when I was lvling my WAR pre 30 it was called "Mighty Misses".

the bad rap for DRG's started when SE took away something people could abuse. long time ago penta thrust used to be considered among the best WS in the game cause people would get a massive TP return from it. you could spam it like 2 handed warriors do rampage. the player base abused the hell out of it and SE nerfed it. and much like when rangers got humbled people dropped the job with the quickness. and as more gear came out drg's weren't included as much probably cause SE wanted to cater to the popular jobs (that just a guess on my part, but it seems reasonable).

the job has risen above its old shortcomings but still most old timers cling to the past misgivings about the job. its the same old song, if a job doesn't have a trait you can spam the hell out of, it gets a "gimp" tag.

Actually, unless I'm mistaken, wasn't the big hooplah over monks with the level 1 relic knuckles doing literally back-to-back Asuran fists? It was just in the announcement of the change to WS TP return, they said something like, "Multi-hit weapon skills like Penta Thrust..." and everyone just assumed it was a DRG nerf.

Also, blaze through Giddeus in a few hours to collect 200+ yagudo necklaces. Spinning Scythe and other aoe's would gain TP for every target it would hit.

Woot!
just hit lvl 10 and I'm actually doing awesome :D
got my scale armor set, few weapons I'm juggling around, and still 3k gil with an auction for a stack of Dark Crystals up for a little over 2k :)

Got off to a wonderful start and I'd like to thank the people who helped, and a special thank you to K. Ishitar :D

i think it was a bit of both. Penta would return 60+ TP before so you could basically weave a good 2-3 pentas in a row from what i remembered. Get 100 TP, penta to 60 meditate, and penta, and get the rest of your meditate + penta TP and then penta again. something like that. I never got my DRG to that level to have that fun (unfortunately) but thats what i remember people telling me basically.

what do you mean by OP?

and yes it's a pretty fun job, just not one for starters...you have to have access to a lot of hidden stuff...

OP=over powered

ah ok.
Being a warrior what should I take as my sub?
I was kinda thinking monk might be a good one, but iono

pretty much, level mnk to 18 to sub for your war as you level war to 37
