Thank you, orange juice and sausage burrito now reside on my monitor :D

Wow, so much for MotorStorm being the PS3's saving grace for this month.

Fuck MotorStorm...how was it?

Just another rally racing game with horrible handling. Not sure why everyone, media included, was hyping, first of all, a racing game, and second of all, a crappy racing game.

Uh, Not sure how you could qualify the handling as crappy. Its the same basics as any other racer. Have you even played it yet?

Motorstorm shipped today, it's not even out until tommorrow. Bad reviews are a little premature.
Reviews usually come out before the launch, so that people can figure out if they want to get it or not; rather than blindside them with a shitty game that they couldn't have found out about before buying. I haven't read any of the reviews for it, just saying the reviews should already be out if it's released tomorrow.

8.9 from IGN.
7.3 from EGM

Mistake on the EGM rating. It was a 9 in the magazine i have, but the website says 7.3

I rarely give a shit what professional reviewers have to say because they usually rate based on their tastes in games not on the quality of the game itself. For example, look at the reviews of Motorstorm as an import, with no online play against Motorstorm's NA release. The Japanese version had no online and got great reviews. The NA version all the reviewers say that the online is the only reason to get it and then rate it worse. It is nonsensical. If a game looks good, listen to what users say or just rent it and find out.

I've disregarded some reviews before after playing a game, but unless there is a demo to play, reviews are really the only thing to go on before you buy a game. Unless you just have money to burn so you don't care if you waste your money on a shitty game, most people try to find out what they can before they buy a game.

Also, I find it rather ironic you'd take that position when you were deciding about Call of Duty's worth based on professional reviews and disregarding the reviews of actual users.

Blockbuster anyone?

All racing games have a different feel to them just like most FPS games have different recoils, head bobs, etc. and most fighting games have different control methods/fighting styles. They may all seem like playing the same kind of game but they are vastly different. The Demo has been around in our Best-Buys/other stores longer than the PS3 so even if most of the nation's gamers aren't "fortunate" enough to own a PS3, we've had a chance to play it.

Fire, maybe where you live but it's sitting pretty in my buddy's PS3, probably out now and back to R: FoM, and at the mall's GameStop. Do you guys normally get your releases on Wednesday where you live?

For the amount it cost me to rent a game, I could go buy a case of beer or out for a semi nice dinner at Chili's or someshit.

On the subject of reviews, most reviews are trash. I haven't saw a single game reviewed to my standards in the past two years. Reviews are peoples opinions and readers/watchers/etc. put to much stock into them.

6$ for a game rental here

I'll have the game rented by tomorow, so I'll let you all know how it goes then.

Wow, that's how much it should cost to rent a game... They are actually worth renting at that price. When I go into Blockbuster I usually talk myself out of it because I realize $10 is a decent chunk out of a new game.

I hope you guys like MotorStorm better than me though. I typically, like FPS games, don't like racing games to much but I enjoy rally games. However, none have been done right since Top Gear Rally for N64, imo.
