PS3 is hurting!

Microsoft killed Xbox in 2005. They only released it in Japan in 2002. The point of getting a console is that you don't have to upgrade every 3 years like you do to play PC games. Look at how long PS1 and PS2 lasted. Look at how long Xbox lasted, and with 3 years of a system life they didn't even support any decent backwards compatibility. While killing Xbox, to beat Sony into the market they rushed a piece of shit Xbox 360 version that had a huge percentage of fatal crashes with the infamous "ring of death," because they're Microsoft and have so much money they want to just overpower the gaming console market. They lost 4 billion with Xbox and as a result just pumped in more money to 360. They take a huge loss to have to replace their defective 360s and don't care, because customers for some reason are happy with getting a fix 360 as long as they're not charged for it.

Microsoft products are shitty, they're not innovative and they're forced down your throat. Their services are shoved down your throat and the legs beneath them are cut the second they've got another product to shove down your throat.

Sony is a heartless corporation only interested in money just the same as Microsoft, but Sony doesn't force its PS2 users to upgrade to next gen in order to continue getting support. Maybe that makes the market, right now, while PS2 isn't dead yet, a slower next gen crossover than Xbox was, but it means that I can trust Sony when I plop 600 bucks down for my PS3 that in 2010 they'll still be making PS3 games while you plop down another 400 bucks for your Xbox3, rebuy all your controllers, accessories and throw away your useless 360 games that won't run on it.

You think it's dumb to buy a PS3 based on PS1 and PS2 success? You think it's dumb to buy a Sony brand because I've never bought a Sony product that wasn't top quality and supported by a company that's loyal to its customers? You think it's dumb to avoid Microsoft, the 1000 pound gorilla of a company that makes its mark in the industry by fucking over people, that churns out buggy shit year after year and forces people to buy or be incompatible? You think the nearly 2 million PS3s out there are because people prefer to pay 200 bucks more? They prefer Resistance to Gears of War? No, people buy PS3 because they trust Sony and when in a few months out and the games are competitive and gamers are going to be chosing between Microsoft and Sony for their system, Microsoft is going to have to buy a hell of a lot more gaming studios to keep these trends up.

Yeah it's a decent machine, and it's no worse than PS3 until the next gen of games come out, but it's a Microsoft product and I know the Microsoft approach to business. Run your competitors out of business, grab market share, create constant, forced upgrades and overcharge for shit.

And Blue Dragon sold 130k in Japan. Maybe all the people who bought it, bought an Xbox for playing it, but it was a disaster. Most of the developers are going to work on the Wii because it's selling so well in their home market and the low power makes it a fairly cheap machine to develop for. All Xbox is going to get is ports, and mostly for just the NA region, which are going to be inferior because they were built for PS3. Just look at Armored Core 4, they are porting it to Xbox over here but aren't making a Japanese version. Their market is so small it's not worth making a japanese xbox 360 version - and they've already got a Japanese version and a 360 version.

By the way, do you know if 360 is going to get Mouse and Keyboard support for UT2k7 like PS3 is? The more I learn about this game the less I care about Halo 3 - this thing looks like the bomb.

UT has always been a vastly superior game all around. better play and better mechanics. better support.

In order to stop repeating myself and dig up the same facts I've been presenting, I'm giving up on you getting me, I'll just touch on this...

I know the 360 supports usb mice and keyboards but I dunno if games can/will utilize them, I'm sure if the PS3 will do it, they will do it. However, I prefer controller. If I wanted Keys and mouse, I'd buy it on PC. I suck royal cock using keys and mouse but with a controller I'm pretty dangerous.

As per Halo 3, I hope it fails but I know it wont. I think Halo 2 is one of the easiest, and worst, FPS games ever created hence its popularity. I will argue how bad that gmae is until I'm blue in the face. The only good thing about the series is the music. I hope UT 3 is the next big FPS. I absolutly love the franchise. However, if online mode is as bad as Gears, it'll suck, bad, considering it's much faster.

Something I noticed last night that you may not like. Look at the release date change... http://www.gamestop.com/search.asp?...ournament+3&N=0&find.x=0&find.y=0&find=Search

I try not to take gamespot's information into account ever since they tried to get me to pre-order a PS3 version of Dead Rising they had in their lists for April.

Not throwing out the possibility that Unreal Tournament will come out for the Box first considering that it's an easier system to code for... but also not throwing out the possibility that the PS3 version will surpass the Xbox's cause it's a crossplatform that's not a 360 port. I think the first real test is Armored Core 4, a crossplatform that wasn't made for 360 and ported to PS3.

Yeah, the big thng about UT is that they aren't making it for PC and slapping a controller friendly scheme for a port, but rather making all 3 versions at the same time.

The PS3's version of UT3 couldn't possibly do anything different that I, personally, care about. They could add map modding and all that but to me, it's still he same game. The only thing that would get me is if they added a game style to one the other didn't offer but they aren't that retarded. I'm not to picky when it comes to things like that. God knows I wished they'd set the 360 version back as I bet they want to but Microsoft is rushing them like they did with Gears...

Rushing isn't the end of the world assuming that the base product is good and the optional stuff they skip out on can be added through free patches. Like Motorstorm is getting a splitscreen patch for example. It's a question of if the studios are going to support their games or move onto the next thing if we can accept getting a product rushed to market. The demand is there, just look at how people bought that crackdown shit just to get into halo 3 beta. I'm sure people would pay 60 bucks just for Halo 3 now if they could get patches as they complete it.

That low budget, last generation, tiny effort piece of shit can't compete with the well constructed Red Steel brought to us by the folks at Nintendo. Afterall, fun has nothing to do with graphics and that's all PS3 and Xbox 360 have to offer.

Yes, because Nintendo made Red Steel, just like every single other Wii game out there.

I think Tag is pointing out Nintendo didn't make Red Steel. It's an Ubisoft game.

Man I just found this thread;; and am 50something pages late. Could have ended this long ago. Lets talk now for a sec. Now; ps3 is lame. 360; is on top in every way, graphics, gameplay and EVEN diverse games.(not just fps) now given it had a year headstart I don't just bash ps3. Ps3 I am sure will break through the slump and make something worth buying. Not just graphic showcases that are less then par and horrible games overall like they have so far. They will come back strong. But end lies of ps3's power;; if you want power get a pc. 360 and ps3 are equal eventually. So many brag of the ps3's power numbers on paper yet they ignore the 360 has the better graphic processor;; man just don't bash one or the other lol. They both will succeed. For now 360 is ahead by long shot, but can't repeat it enough sony will equal them. And both systems are equal in power. Just different ways they process info and the way developers well... develop for them differently. Myself I am interested in blue ray in future. Also I have both of these systems.

My friend told me that if you don't have an HDtv, that a PS3 will downscale the graphics down to close to PS2 levels. Can anyone(who will answer clearly without dodging around) answer this for me? If it's true, that'd be a serious reason to not get a PS3, since you'd be paying more for less than with a 360.

Not really sure sorry;; I went after an hdtv couple months after 360 purchase and ps3 way after my hdtv;;

My TV blows, and that's completely untrue. I'm amazed by the graphics on PS3, I can only imagine how it'd be on a good TV.

Yeah, I played Motorstorm on a regular TV during this spring break and my parents walked in and were stunned at the graphics. The "downgrade" they're talking about is on a few poorly constructed older high def TVs that downgrade a few titles to 460 because they don't accept 720, which I believe has been patched, but not sure... however it's the TV's fault not the PS3, the PS3 patch had to trick the TV into thinking it was getting a 1080 or something along those lines.

However even on 460, most PS3 games still look very good. Graphics cards have more to do with just resolution.

On a side note: Does anyone with a hacked PSP know if it'll read movies in the same format that the PS3 uses? Might be useful to get a PS3, PSP and USB Hard drive setup if I can load the harddrive up with movies and mp3s and transfer them by memory stick between the PSP and PS3 when I want to watch/hear on the go.
