You can quest it, but how long does it take you to get enough fame to get the quest, and by what means are you getting that fame. For me I've turned in countless zinc ore. So just because it's a quested item doesn't mean that it's easy to get.

Even if the quest takes along time or is'nt "Easy" to do, that is'nt an excuse not to have the item thats realy a must for your job.

Sorry but I don't consider a LS a status symbol or some sort of judge of character. Personally I couldn't give two shits less about other peoples link shells. I have fun in mine and that's all I care about. Hey if it gets you hard to call out peoples link shell and demand reprimands, by all means go ahead. Assuming they didn't have Utsusemi, where was their Linkshell? Were they going to help them find Norg and do the quest? The first place most people turn to is their Linkshell for help.

if they were just playing a joke on these people, then they probably were not using their real jobs. so whoever was nin would not need utsusemi in doing what he/she normally does and probably did not care to ask anybody to get it. anyways that's beside the matter, the point is don't bring the LS into this when two people are trying to have some fun. I've pretty much never had a LS, and when I did it was maybe 5 people, and I still got Utsusemi and all the elite gear money can't buy. I feel bad cuz I want to junk some of it, but you never know how hard it is to get another Tungi, Pendragon Axe, Dainslaif, when you actually need it. I should level my WAR above 18 some time. ; ;

You don't need a LS to get utsusemi; you just need to be remotely competent. But it still hasn't been said whether or not this whole thing was a joke or not.

As cofounder and treasurer/secretary of UnknownSoldiers, I'd like to set the record straight if I can.

Chione, Angellita, and myself xp-d through the Dunes together over the past few days. I expressed a degree of dissatisfaction with the fact that she had yet to quest the scroll, but figured that if she didn't, she'd catch flak for it soon enough.

Looks like I was right.

Any comments they made about not knowing the location of Norg were a joke - a defense mechanism I've seen both of them use from time to time. Their disbanding and immediately going after the spell are indications of their true feelings on the matter - embarrassment.

In any event, I totally agree with a lot of the things that have been said here. I do believe that a shell's rep should stand for something, and in that light, please accept this as an apology, for what it's worth.

By the way, if you'd like to see the other end of the spectrum that this LS has to offer, swing by the outpost in Qufim tonight around 8:30 EST. I'm taking ninja through there as well.

You can still get the pictures from PS2. All you gotta do is send them through POL email to any other email you normally use online. Then save them to the computer, upload them to a site, and post them. Can't post the kinds of pictures you want, such as chat logs, though. :/

It also doesn't mean it's an accurate representation either. Back to the two friends in the car, the other one could be straight as a whistle and now he is represented as a pot head. Not a very accurate description, don't you think? What someone thinks based upon a few brief circumstances does not portray them in their entirety.

There are quite a few LS with very bad reputations, but you don't see people fleeing from them do you? Why? Because people realize there is a lot more important that what someone else thinks of you especially on a flameboard. Granted I find not having done the Utsusemi quest unacceptable by any standards, but doesn't mean the rest of the LS is like that. They may represent the LS, but they are by no means the standard of the shell.

And as a last question. What if there are two members in a LS, one whom is a complete noob and another who is the elitist player you ever seen? You go from one end of the spectrum to the other, but how do you judge the shell on that? Serious question, looking for a serious answer. And for those that think this is far fetched, it's not. I've seen a lot of very good players associate with the poorest of players and often times, people care less about gameplay in a social shell when they RARELY participate in group events and more about the person as a whole.

I did everything solo as a 40 white mage. Took maybe 5 hours max to get the fame, but I farmed yagudo necklaces, and didn't buy any. All in all, I made around 100k from completing the quest so many times selling off all the gear I got off the yagudo. The quest is easy, getting the fame is easy, there is no reason for someone to not have the scroll via questing.

forgot to mention that the only reason it took 5 hours was because I didn't have many free inventory slots. If someone has a DD job, they could go in naked with a weapon and get ti done much faster.
