Racism & FFXI

Oops that was a weird double post. Sorry.

There are JP players that are open-minded about partying with players that speak a language thats different from theirs and then you have some who are...just not.
I would say it depends on their experiences with NA/EU people, whether they had good ones or bad ones and then down-right atrocious ones.
The Japanese are a pretty complicated people, to say the least. If you cannot type like them and you respond back in roma-ji, they automatically assume that you are not one of them. Granted, its not like we can see each other over the screens so I guess I cannot blame them for that.

I have had more interactions with NA/EU players who sucked at playing, who had bad manners, who were just plain idiots compared to playing with JP players. However, that is most likely because I partied alot during NA prime time and not JP prime time.
I have had interactions with great JP players, and some who do not even come close as decent.
I am not saying one player base is better than the other. All I am saying here is that its up to the actual person playing and his/her abilities.

As for the JP onry thing. It could be that they actually want to chit-chat while in the party and gain a few levels while in the process. I've had long parties with some JPs and they do talk way more amongst each other compared to the parties I've had with NA/EU.
Perhaps, the NAs or EUs I've partied with would rather get exp rather than chit-chat.

As for manners, I will say the ratio of rudeness I've gotten from other players leans towards the JPs. If they are seeking and if I invite them to a party, I either get a response or none at all. I refresh my search screen every minute or so, so if I see them still seeking 10 minutes later maybe they are afk.
If I see them in a party 5 minutes later, then it's safe to say that they have ignored me.
I would rather get a response saying [No thanks.] than none at all.
On the other hand, some JPs have sent me a /tell saying that they were afk, and that they were sorry. There were some who did ask if I still needed them in the party.

In the end, it depends on the person you ask I suppose.
