While you technically can recover and still live a relatively happy life, trusting others becomes almost impossible for quite a long time. Well I appologize for not having an open minded view about something like rape. And I AM helping her, thats why she's even still alive today. Um...what? I've seen what happens to rape victims, a close friend of mine got raped by her ex-bf recently. She now trusts no one, save for myself and a few other people. She's a completely different person. So no, you CANT recover from rape, you have to live with it for the rest of your life.

Yeah I know, my original post was more my being upset about an argument I had so I couldn't really think as straight as I wanted to. Its possible to recover, with enough time and support. But that fact is always going to be in the back of your mind, and no amount of time or support or recovery can change that. You just have to get around it and not let it dominate your life.
