RDM/NIN can solo
Hakutaku HNM.
Look up Avesta. RDM/NIN has its
place in XI. As for Melee RDM,
usually not a good idea. .

Good gear for people now adays (the n00bs) is shield earring an NQ bone earring at level 65+ equipped with garnet rings and a fucking awesome +2 dex ring or venerer ring.

People seem to forget that woodsman, just as good as sniper's, can be obtained from like 4 different easy/fun ENMs. Not to mention they are around 180k.

Spike earrings are cheap as fuck too.

Gimp players kill this game.

RDM/NIN is one of these gotta have combo's by so many who come into this game and hear about those jobs soloing NM's and avatars etc, prob is just having the jobs isnt enough, nor is being geared elite, what matters is the brains controlling that character.

I've seen far too many rdm/nin's that really think they are the pride of FFXI. Along with War/Nin this has become the cookie cutter job to get. :)
 
I don't think anyone is going to argue that RDM/NIN isn't a great soloing job combo, but I can't imagine anyone taking it into a party on a regular basis and not realizing it's fucking gimp.
 
RDM/NIN is supreme, This job combo isn't for you're grandmother, hats off to the true RDM/NIN.

As for RDM/NIN in parties it blows. But at high levels when you're PT is doing 5-8k per hour, RDM can sub whatever the fuck they want and melee all they want too. Reason being is the PT is mobile and when the mob dies so fast without doing anything to the WAR/NIN or whatever blink tank, RDMs enfeebling magic is practually useless even against Weapons in many cases.

Again only in the highest levels. Some of you 75's should know that. Well probably not the PLDs.

No one cares if you level Ninja or not Eilistrae. From a solo point of view you'll always be inferior, and remain a less decorated RDM. Besides you're level 58, you would be able to do much with /NIN even if you tried.

wrong, my red mage is 75 and has been for quite some time. My Summoner is 58. I can solo plenty as a rdm, but I prefer to duo things, its just more fun that way.
 
Duo is simple play.

RDM/NIN on the other hand is too expensive for alot of you and requires more skill if anything is to come of it. The greatest vestal for the skilled gamer in search of flexability to achieve, indeed. Still not for everyone.

Mashing up the NM doll solo, for another RDM to get their AF headgear felt nice, considering its recommended to do that NM in an alliance or cannon PT.

All the sheep in this thread don't know to respect to a good RDM/NIN, and remain silent. For RDM/NIN to be in a low level PT is retarded for sure, but the rest of the shit i read in this thread is laughable.

RDM/NIN has its place. Its very useful in many situations. As proven time and time again. That place has never, and never will be in the experience party however. RDM's role chages drastically depending on the situation, I.E( Dynamis, BCNM/KSNM/ISNM/ENM, Exp/Merit PT [in old area vs. ToAU], coffer keys ! Kiting, the list goes on...) It is easilythe most variable job in the game. When you look at it this way then you can understand that RDM/NIN isnt really such a bad combo to have.

Huh? Vestal? As in... virginity? I'm trying to figure out what you meant to say there, but it's beyond me. I find it amusing that you think RDM/NIN is too expensive for "alot of us". I'm sure you're Mr. Gilbags in-game and all, but there's plenty more expensive jobs out there than RDM/NIN.

Please. As if only a RDM/NIN can handle that doll. BST can solo, NIN can duo with the RDM that needs it.

I don't think anyone has said that it's Not a good combo to have, lol. It just shouldn't be used in XP, lol.
 
I'll only add one thing to this post and its probably got nothing to do with what ya'll are talking about.

I have in my shell, the greatest RDM I've ever played with. When we do Kirin, he kites as RDM/NIN and damn near no one can peel hate off of him. He does an amazing job, is incredibly well equipped and I'm really not sure anyone can do it better.

That's about it. In EXP, RDM/NIN has no place, soloing mobs and NMs, sure why not. However, its not the end-all, be-all of job combinations, as anyone can attest. Have fun ^^
