Red Mage Merits, Where to put them?

How do you know wind acc affects Silence, and possible other spells. I would dearly like to see where you get that info. In all my days of playing Red mage, I am told Only Mind/INT and Enfeebling Controls the power of Debuffs. Where is it writen that Wind Acc effects Silence. That is my question.

Brown/Tan=Earth
Light Blue=Ice
Purple=Thunder
Darker Blue=Water
If you seriously didn't know that just fucking wow... did you even have macro equips qith the appropriate spells?

never had a need too, my spells stuck just fine. In anycase, I agree with the tossing Thunder out the window. But I still think Blizzard should be more merited on. I guess you taught me something new, are you happy?

Wind affects Silence and Gravity
Ice affects Bind and Paralyze
Earth is slow
and been to long to know each one but those were the important ones. If you were a level 1-40 RDM, I'd of been happy I taught you something new, but the fact your 75 and never used a equip macro... I'm dying a lil inside.....

I'm glad to see I have an effect on you. The fact of the matter is, I never had trouble with my debuffs during 1-75. In fact I really dont see any Red mage marco'n staffs for each spell. I see Magic acc as a source of MB'n. To see that I was wrong bout Wind acc, I bow out now~

You must not pay that much attention to other RDMs since switching out staves for spells is common practice.

Spell Interruption Rate down (great for any job really if they say.. solo or are a tank and need to recast)
Critical Hit Rate up (good for solo-ing as a RDM and all other jobs too )
Sword+
Shield+ (our evasion sucks.. stop wasting it on Evasion)
STR+5 (solo better and for future jobs )

that's my goal. I'm about halfway done or so. I just haven't cared to play in awhile.

evasion merits really DO help ^^ I notice a huge difference in h ow much I evade

First concentration should be MP or Enfeebling Magic.

Ha Ha, I'm a Tarutaru rdm lvl 75 but I never have any problem with MP so much, therefore it's not really the first thing I'd focus into. I can see a Galka definitely or any other race though.

Enfeebling and magic elemental acc is good for rdms like most everyone had said. Luckily my enfeebles don't get resisted too often even on ITs unless they're possibly mobs with high magic def like Ahriman-type mobs you can find in Uleguerand Range.

I find myself putting most of my merits into elemental for now though, not specifically for rdm but because blm is the next job I wish to take to 75 soonish so would be great to have strong nukes before then. Although it's also fun to nuke a little higher with less resist on rdm.

Mind you, I haven't really obtained much merits yet since my rdm only hit 75 last month. All my magic skills are capped except healing and divine but I am planning on putting merits into enfeebling and maybe even enhancing as well. Nothing worse than a sneak/invis that may only last 5 seconds a bit of the time, especially in heavy aggro areas that have mobs with ep+ to 75s.

well there is another reason for me to merit shield I wanna take PLD to 75 XD whenever I feel like playing again that is x.x PLD, BLU, DRG, RDM to 75 are the only jobs I want to 75 (though BRD is tempting just so I can get a decent cannon going >.>).

Also, about the shield, you'd be suprised how well a RDM/PLD can solo meleeing. It's pretty nice from what I've read and heard from friends. And not just EP->DC but EM and even some T (though from what I gathered the person had to sleep it for a bit to get healed XD).

shield is nice even more now with the tp bonus rdm/drk <3. I still think eva would help more though because it help no matter what your sub is while shield only help if you equiping a shield. Also to point out why it good to lvl enfeb, when you lvl more enf the less enf equip you need (even though im trying get as much enfeb equip as possible.) In exp party it you can then go with more int/mnd and mp gear to allow you to do all them mb so so love. lol think we scared the op'er away he has not replyed yet. h34r:
