Regarding a member on the boards

Well then those people can put him on ignore too :). Why exactly does the ignore feature "not cut it"? I have a few people on ignore myself, and it works just fine. :)

The fact of the matter is, he hasn't broken any rule to deserve a ban, and just because you don't like him, that isn't a good enough reason.

No. You are letting the staff do your dirty work. If legitimate action needs to be taken it will be.

You realize you are making yourself look more and more like an idiot right? Just checking... I did nothing when are you going to realize that these kind of threads do more flamebaiting outside the flameboards towards me, than I ever do on the boards themselves

I'm saying that it isn't going to be up to a vote. Put him on ignore and be done. He hasn't done anything wrong to be banned. If anything you have already flamebaited him several times in this thread.

I have read your OP, which was a flame, btw. And putting banning someone to a vote is a stupid idea. People have given you suggestions on how to avoid Jyak, you simply refuse to listen to what they have said.

If you think he's flamebaiting use the report post feature. You can put him on ignore, or if you really need to know that he's not talking about you that much, don't put him on ignore and just don't respond to his posts. It's really not that difficult a concept to understand.

Telling me to go back and read your OP, or quoting it continuously isn't going to do anything. I read it, I gave my opinion, you're the one going around in circles about it, Dia. Banning someone simply on teh fact that they aren't liked, isn't right, and it won't happen.
 
No, Iso.. I stated in the opening post that it wasn't only my problem with him. I also stated that the ignore function is not going to work, here. You respond by saying "It sounds like your problem. Use ignore." ...which you said 3 times now.

Be more specific. Why isn't the ignore feature going to work. You don't see his ratedowns or his posts anymore. Those were your two biggest problems, right?
 
I'm just going to avoid any further hostility arising from this. Clearly it's going nowhere, like the flames, like the "report function" and like the ignore function which I'll be putting in place right now.

As have most of the people who have responded to your thread, bud. There is no other course of action to take here. Report his posts and pretend he doesnt exsist, or don't and deal with him. He isn't going to be banned for no reason, or because you want to "put it to a vote because it's a benefit for the community".

I will just add one more thing to this and let it be done. We are tolerant to a degree on this boards in regards to statements made in SAF. We want real feedback, but the OP to this topic went over the top over-embellishing the situation with Jyakotsu.

Use the ignore feature, it is the most proactive solution and frankly, is/was/ and has been our response to issues involving personal disputes or what have you. I'm not really all that willing to do much more for personal disputes with exception of addressing what still seems to be the uncertainty regarding "wall posts."

As a public notice:
It will not bode well for anyone involved if the staff's trust in the appropriate use of this board is compromised. People dislike other people, and that is fine and dandy, but this is not public flame ground.
 
Granted the topic is closed, I really feel I should just share something...

The ignore feature was modified so people could ignore certain individuals with the moderator privileges on the private forums.

This thread is a perfect example of using that ignore feature. If you choose to abstain from using it, we cannot simply go ahead and ban a user without significant cause. This is where the report function will come into play. We have gotten much better on replying to users who have reported a post and let them know what action was taken. Should you see a post you feel breaks the rules or constitutes some type of punishment, please feel free to report it.

When you do report a post, it would be wise to mention what rule it is breaking and a brief explanation why you feel it is cause for action. Reported posts with "user again" or "what a tard" will not be a proper way to start one.
