Unless there was a way to toggle the display of those on and off, it'd just be a huge clutter to the boards. Not to mention one person's thanks/boo may not have near the same point as someone else (one person may say thanks for finding something useful, another may say thanks just because they agree. That and the cluttering issue was the main problem of the last time we had a Thanks feature)

Also, there's a string of upsides/downsides. On the plus side, it -can- give people a perspective on how useful what they say is (if it really matters to them =P) and may also be able to be used as a kindof "bookmark"...so if they wanna look up a useful reference they could just look back on posts they've thanked, point out the one they were thinking of, and go from there.

But the downside is that people may not take it seriously (or on the contrary, immaturely) and people may thank eachother for getting thanked and crap (which was a previously existing issue); and people may rate-down people just for disliking them, or, if names are displayed may just get into a war with the person and swap rate-downs back and fourth.
 
I agree, but why not just totally take the system off the boards as someone previously stated? It seems like a better solution to remove it then implenting/changing the reate system again, as there will probably be problems with it again. That's all I got to say. 8)
 
ok, there is an announcement that says you can see who gives you reputation now...

How? Someone decided "(I) was a stupid twat and noone likes (me)" in my only reputation post, but I can't figure out who said it.
 
The name should show up next to the comment - at least thats how its set up. I'll double check later ...
 
Who cares about Rep here? I will give you one thing though Trip, getting a comment like that on my UserCP would of made me laugh for 10 mins. Actually, I'm laughing at now, even though I didn't get it. Props and a rate up for it.

I now know that the rep here is fucked. I was at -1 points and now I am at +9. How that works I have no idea but whatever, and whoever just gave me a negetive fails because they didn't even leave a comment for me to laugh at.
 
how many Reps is needed before repping the same person? :s

How do you know if you got a reputation is there a place to look up reputations people have given you?
