Being a capture from the animation, the pose from the signature is good on the upper half, but the lower end one foot was suspended off the ground on an angle that wouldn't work. So i used this neutral battle pose for Bluefrost.
Never wanted it to look plastic like the others. Something more of a cloth feel which i think i failed to achieve.
I had one of the lights emit the colour blue.
Even though it may not seem like it. The Bluefrost model has more work put into it than any other single model so far. The body armor texture alone has 3 separate parts, although the mapping does not do the low resolution texture any justice. I also coloured the hair to match Bluefrost's version of the character model.
This is the absolute best looking female model in the game. If i wasn't pressed for time i would have applied new base shaders and attempt to correct the look of the cloth. And improve the over all render. Less would get done though.
Next we have this one. Same case as above, shooting for a cloth feeling and failed. Knowing that my shader failed i resorted to a different lighting set up. As you can see, I added 3 point lights to the scene.
Like all the others, it was rendered using the Mental Ray render engine. Mental Ray doesn't agree with the optical FX, so i rendered out the optical FX using the basic Maya render engine then composited the flairs and halo's over the Mental Ray render in Photoshop. This image unlike the others was done in layers. There are 2 mistakes in the image, i won't bother with it though. I only used 3 lights cause i wanted the light from them to stand out on the model.
Originally i was going to make the models body glow, but that would probably cause the scene to be too blown out. Some of the white is already too bright
Group shot.
At this point it was best to space out the characters some being further back in order to have everyone fit in the field of vision and be seen.
The Wyvern needs a reflection adjustment and a Mohawk fix. I also think it turns out better when it's not so bright. Render time is at 28 minutes with Final Gather and Global illumination activated. Most of the other renders i never used neither FG or GI. Moving onto the next character.
