Rude JP...

The guy didn't need to be rude. If I was in his shoes, I'd just look for a different party that would give it a try rather than kick me out for not being vanilla. I don't think there's such thing as a perfect subjob. Almost any combination can work if you play it right. Nothing against you Ruffy. I still agree that he shouldn't have been rude about it.
 
i had a rude jp encounter today, i was omw to korroloka tunnel and i checked a jp smn and the whole way down he just kept checkin me, filling my log with "name examines you" it was kinda stupid really, they take that shit too serious

Again as everyone has said in this.... PLD/NIN can tank as successfully as a PLD/WAR in a Merit pt.

Ruffy was looking for someone who was going to hold hate in a exp pt. If this is what he wanted then the Pld/nin is a poor choice. Even if he wanted a DD pld/nin still sucks. Here's my opinion of why.

Pld/war is going to hold hate way better then a pld/nin in a 30-45 sec fight. End of story. A Pld/nin needs TIME to build hate and all you people who think he's going to get hate that fast and hold it are insane. Throwing a bunch of resisted ichi's won't do garbage. Not to mention the time wasted using them when you could be attacking. Even people saying he can use flash and cure 4 to hold hate well, then he doesn't need the /nin for that. In fact the only noticeable difference in hate for a pld/nin would be when he is using utsusemi. But its still a poor substitute for provoke and warcry.

All the lame, well pld/nin will keep hate with DD, excuses is garbage too. Why? Because if a Pld/war with the same DD/Haste setup as a pld/nin used Berserk, Warcry and had Double Attack, he's going to out DD the Pld/nin with lol Dual wield any day of the week. FYI you blu and rdm noobs. SUBBING /NIN DOESN'T ADD DMG, IT ADDS SURVIVABILITY...... If you think you need Utsusemi to fight some VT imps then your one shitty pld.

The only viable reason to use Pld/nin I suppose is if your other 3 melee were War/nins and you didn't give a fuck if the pld/nin had hate or not. Although like I said the pld/war would do more damage anyway. Ya maybe a pld/nin could do it but a pld/war would do it better. Pld/nin is simply a damage mitigation tool for VERY hard hitting mobs like wyrms or gods. Moral of the story Pld/nin in exp is trash.

So you booted him before he said if he would change or not then got mad at his reaction... you both acted rude. You should have waited for him to say if he would change (seems he would have). He should have ignored the boot and moved on.

Subbing NIN does add damage, just not directly, it allows the PLD to wear full on DD gear and still mitigate damage via Utsusemi, whereas as /war he has to wear gear that helps reduce damage taken but does very little for damage dealt. Basically it does the same thing it does for other jobs, lets you go full out on attack mode and not die. /war could do the same damage or more, but would slow down the xp by taking alot more damage and using up mp.

And as far as PLD/NIN being trash in xp, speak for yourself, I've gotten very nice xp as it in the past. Damage is about the same as a NQ war if you have good gear, and you get the added mp for those Oh shit moments that helps eliminate downtime from someone dying.

First off ice, did you read the SS? lol... Ruffy asked him one time... all the JPN did was say "Well i was seeking pld/nin." He Never once said "I dO NOT WANT /war AT ALL" Ruffy instead acted like a dickhead and booted him without giving him an option one way or the other... FYI PLD/NIN can hold hate almost as well as a PLD/WAR... Especially lol taru PLD/NIN XD.

Ice you cant say what ruffy did was right... He flamed a person that did almost nothing wrong save saying "fuck you" after ruffy did him wrong in the first place

Well, he mentioned he wanted him to switch twice. If I invited a pld, i'd assume he could go /war if needed (which is almost always). I have never started building a pt and looked for a pld to DD tank, it doesn't work. Any well geared DD will pull way to much hate off him, and there is nothin he can do. Its a waste of a pt slot.

I could understand if the pld's seacom mentioned not wanting /war, but who knows what his seacom said.

The pld can wear the same DD gear on his /war and do far more dmg then the /nin and as for mitigating dmg. Lol good luck trying to keep the hate after the first weaponskill goes off. All those shisei's are just going to collect dust. Its a poor choice for hate control in exp and an even worse choice for damage dealing.
