yah >.< i was bound couldnt move from AoE range w/ no stoneskin and 14mp when it did it>.< it got me to like 10 hp and i died from poison effect

Sethala you know I like you and have no problem with you but there is one tiny flaw here.

Gil sellers break rules that me and you and everyone else has to follow thats reason enough for them not to be allowed any claims.

i.e. if my HNMLS used a claim bot would you not think I used it everytime we camped a HNM?

My point is if they cheat or break the rules once, why wouldnt they do it any chance they got?

also if they got it legitimately and could kill it why did they need a 59 blm to help?

I think you're slightly misunderstanding my point. I wasn't saying that I approve of cheating. I was simply saying that being a gilseller doesn't necesarially mean you cheat, and cheating doesn't mean you're a gilseller. The two are very different things that wind up overlapping in most cases. If I meet a gilseller that doesn't use bots, that doesn't MPK, etc then I have no reason to hate them.

The only rule that all gilsellers break is the RMT rule, and from what I've seen it's one of the least-enforced rules in FFXI. If a gilseller is "legit" aside from that one thing, why should we hate them so much?

Ok I'll agree thats a very good point, however, with all of the bad stuff and horror stories that happen to HNM LS and NM campers all the time from these very same gil sellers makes me a little apprehensive to trusting them. And just cause its the least enforced rule doesnt make it ok.

Alright, I concede this point to you. But, I'm just more of a pacifist nature myself, when talking about other players - if you and I are playing by the same set of rules, I don't care if you beat me, and I don't care what your motives or reasons for being there are. If you are simply better than me, then I will have no problems with losing to you. I don't care if you need the drops from the NM/HNM yourself, if you sell them for gil for other things, or if you sell them to other players for real money. As long as you play by the rules that everyone else agrees on, I have no problems with you.

On a side note, I would be acting pretty differently if Edsion and co. were known MPKers/stealers/etc... but I haven't seen any threads about them anywhere, and I've never seen them do anything seriously dishonest.

You know, I honestly admire people and players like you. I know a few right off the top of my head, but I find it amazing you guys can see the bright side of things even when things dont look so good. Its a different perspective and sometimes a needed one. Its refreshing for people to be different and for people to think the way you do, and I mean that.
 
hmmm people think gil selling is cheating and stupid, sure, its stupid, buts what wrong with them? they lower prices to sell faster... and people think they "cheat" to get their HNMs/NMs... nah, theyr just better at voking... or paying more notice.. or it pops near them.. not like i care about gil sellers, i culd care less about them... they dont harm me, i leave them alone... and some of them are actully really nice o.o;

now heres an idea all of you anti-gil sellers can have... leave them the fuck alone... unless they MPK you... then go right ahead and MPK the fuck out of them ^^.. but dont flame them becuase theyr making a living out of playing a game and you arnt... they are people too >.< theyr harmless ppl, even tho they "try" to do gods now... and do HNMs and such.. wont be soon till they team up and do dynamis lol... after all its a game.. dont get involved... Gil Sellers wouldnt be here if ppl didnt buy gil... so instead of hating gil sellers, hate the gil buyers :P

As far as I'm concerned, this is why I despise gil-sellers. Keep in mind, this is comin from a guy who's not even leveled enough to take part in any of the really juicy NM camps.

Their profession makes a mockery of every legitimate player of this wonderful game. They supply the funds for gil-buyers.

Just imagine - all your hard work; all your blood, sweat, and tears; all your endless hours of farming, camping and crafting for the kitty to buy (if not the absolute best, then at least passable) gear can be rendered pointless within minutes by any punkass with a fatter bankroll than yours and the ethics of a glob of pond slime. In my humble opinion? That's just not right.

Now, you might ask, "How does that hurt me or anyone else?"

Simple! The folks that buy gil, buy practically everything else ingame, too - from insane powerlevels, to quest help, to . . . . well, friends if they can find someone lacking in dignity enough to accept their gil. So where does that lead? You're stuck either competing for party slots with these idiots, or worse, stuck actually partying with them and suffering the consequences of having someone in-party with insane gear who still couldn't find their own butt with both hands and a flashlight.

I say the rich have enough advantages over us poor working stiffs already. Why should they have one here too?
 
well, you can always just /blist the noobs :P... and if u get rid of the gilbuyers the sellers will go.. simple as tat..
 
I think some of you should get of OP's back. I don't think Char knew they were gil sellers. Not everyone here knows who gil seller is. So instead of being

"omg dont friggin play this game..you helped a gil seller!!!" why don't you try saying "you didn't know, thats ok"
 
I have managed to get MPKed by every last gilseller I know over the Lv of 70 just camping Serket alone not counting skilling up in the Amemet room. I've grabbed him and soloed him to the end MANY times in my days and also see that end with weapons and doom toads on me...and gilsellers for the win. So with that...Anyone who assist them in any way you suck, you deserve to get banned when they do, and you are a cheater for helping with RMT..you are a progression stone for the gilsellers. Anyone who says they are legit and it's ok..we all know customers don't like to see their used companies get bashed.

You've been MPK'd by gilsellers, yes. But have you been MPK'd by all gilsellers? I doubt it.

I don't recall ever seeing a flame against Edsion and co. Now, maybe I just haven't been looking in the right places, or just don't remember seeing it. It's possible. And if you can point me to someone saying that they were MPK'd by this particular group of gilsellers, I'll probably rethink my opinion of them. But until then, I will treat them no differently than I treat any other random player. Because as far as I know (and I'm very open to the possibility that I'm wrong, if someone would like to prove it), Edsion and co. aren't as bad as most of the other gilsellers.
 
well, i dont know the story or if they did this before, but when i was watching serket, some people decided to mpk the gil sellers cuz they got serket legitly (becuase there is no way u can prove they bot ect.. without SE saying that or a program that detects it) so im guessing theyr just sick of you being rude? and gunna mpk back? but then agian i really dont give a fuck becuase i have no trouble with gil sellers, theyv nvr tried to mpk so im fine ^^
 
Ive personally had gilsellers help my party When we had aggro in kuftal Tunnel While they were waiting for Amemit to pop. But, You claim All gilsellers are bad? BS! I completely agree w/ Sethala in many ways. Gilsellers aren't bad some yes some no just like normal players
 
maybe not ALL gil sellers MPK.. but they are still a gil seller.
its their choice to be a gil seller, its their choice to be affiliated with the rest of the gil sellers.
its one thing to just ignore them the best you can and go on with your own business... its another thing to help them. by helping them you choose to be affiliated with them :/
this dosent mean that you sell gil, it just means that you went out of your way to help gil sellers.
in my eyes NO gil seller has any hornor. affiliating your self with them is throwing your dignity out the window in hopes to earn some cash.
