Scythe choices

I used 68 DEX which I think is what my 75 war has as Galka <_< but you're right drk could be lower, i didn't check

Yeah, that's what it was. I accidentally put down my base Dex in that blank as an Elvaan Drg instead of Drk which is 62 as opposed to 65. Still a 1% difference in accuracy if you're comparing an Elvaan Drk to a Galkan. So I guess race is somewhat negligible unless you're comparing an Elvaan to a Mithra which has a base Dex of 75 which makes me a sad Elvaan. :< My mistake.

What you had down as your Dex for a Galka Drk is correct. As Warrior your Dex would just be one point less.

I have pretty tip top acc on colibri..... BUT.... I dont count colibri as a real merit mob. Now on anything else I will agree with what Icewolf said. Only select situations do I cap acc (ie Limbus etc.). Thats the number 1 reason I use perdu out of the relatively even scythes.

Perdu is purdy :3

People want a single answer, not "shit is situation"; otherwise, they wouldn't bother asking.

Molione's.

Perdu is for people who like to swing for 88 DMG everytime they're forced to sit on TP. And anyone who says they're NEVER forced to sit on TP, even occasionally, are intellectually dishonest.

I came late to the party but it appears you all are ignoring the hidden of tred scythe.

Assuming you all have the gear for a six hit, have good acc, and have sam sub then tred is the sure shot best scythe. Assuming you dont know how to gear yourself and you wear stuff like askar body and then sure, go get a perdu or a moliones.

The str on moliones doesnt improve the damage by enought o beat treds higher base damage and stronger Dot. the set effect isnt going to touch a rajas/7acc ring, so im not sure why you guys are fapping to it like a blind retard to light.

The str on moliones doesn't improve the damage by enough to beat treds higher base damage and stronger Dot.

Molione's and Tred have the same exact base dmg so I don't know what you are talking about. Not to mention Molione's 7 STR makes it more like a 96-97 base dmg weapon and it has a much lower delay. So your statement is basically 100% wrong. Good job.

Short answer is still "Shit is situational", and lol @ Lavi for saying it's not.

Top Scythe choice can still vary based on gear setup and skill combo.

The only time it's not situational is in the case of Apocalypse, but that should be a no-brainer.

why not the vendetta?

So am I the only one that sports Tred or what? I do have a crazy augmented death scythe, but tred walks all over my other ones.

The problem with any 528 scythe imo is that there too slow. A 501 delay scythe like Perdu or Molione's swing 5% faster AND have really good stats on them.

Like I said in the other thread, I parsed myself over 324 merit parties
Greater colibri's only, I came out to 18.72% overall crit rate using tred (in tp gear obviously, above is my ws gear). On upper mamools, (only 42 parties) it was reduced to 15.88%. Still, the crit rate does work out to be quite significant.

Ok... and that would be normal because of tred's hidden effect.

But throwing out the other stats, the 5% weapon delay reduction from those other weapons imo would do more dmg over time than a 3% boost in crits....

Guess we gonna have to agree to disagree then.

Think about it this way:

Since reduced weapon delay or crits have no affect on guillotine we can disregard ws damage completely. Now we're just talking about melee dmg.

In a set time frame, all things being equal, we each take 100 swings and miraculously do 150 dmg each so that's 15,000 damage.

Now I reduce my delay 5% and you increase your crits 3%.

In the same time frame I'll end up taking 105 swings in the time it take you to take 100 so now my damage output is 15,750.

In the same time frame you'll still swing 100 times but 3 of your swings will crit (and to be very liberal lets say your crits do double dmg) so now your output is 15,450.

So as you can see my weapon delay will yield more dmg over time than your crits.

Where are you getting 3% increase in crits?

I'll use a diagram with every 13th hit. 100/13 = 7.6912~ which will round down to 7 crits.

Let's also factor in sword strap and pole grip. 103 vs 107.

107 x 150 = 16,050

96 x 150 = 14,400 and 7 x 250 = 1,750 which is 16,150.

Even being incredibly lax with (250 dmg) lulz worthy shitty crits, Tred comes up on top.

EDIT: To be fair I'll add a pole grip and raise critical damage from 200 to 250.

I have tried all the scythes, parsed all the scythes and I still prefer Perdu for 90% of situations. I never parsed on birds because if I am meriting on colibri, im not bringing DRK thats for sure. On Mamool, Tred/Perdu/Moliones were all roughly the same. Perdu, in my parses were slightly above, but it was so small it could have been outside variables. I like Perdu because it is 501 delay, and it gets me the most acc I can. I like Moliones when I get to actually spam souleater, which is hardly ever. Hopefully this debate will be null and void for me here within the year when i hope to have bec.

I'm using her data where she indicated she parsed 324 merit parties and computed an average increase from 15.88% to 18.72% in overall crit rate using tred

You know is not even close to 7% when Guillotine eats up 3 to 4 swings and missing counts against you too. It's less than 5% and that's if your lucky.

I'm sorry I'm sure its me I'm kind of tired but I have no idea what this numbers are are supposed to represent.

Sword Strap and Perdu is 108. Again 7% crit is not possible with Tred and why is it 103? Plus using Sword Strap would break your 6 hit which is just retard to do anyway.

The simple truth is Tred loses before you even consider the 5 acc and 14 att over 2 Base Dmg.

No, it was 18 on birds and 15 on mamool. No difference in weapons, only the mob's AGI which affects crit rate. The crit rates she had indicate mamool have higher agility, which is true.

That'd be totally true if WS hits counted towards the 13th hit's crit. That's wrong, I'm sorry but you're misinformed. Missed swings still count but WS swings are ignored.

Your right on both points. I told you I was tired lol. I only slept 3 hours yesterday...

Doesn't really change the fact that Perdu still is better even if you want to call it 7% crit/2 Base dmg versus 5% weapon delay 5 acc 14 att.
