It has for me! :)

I love the way my miqo'te looks. I think she is very unique and I may carry her over to live. However, she will not be the archer I so thought I wanted to be.

Right now, I feel as if my change of heart is causing me to lead more to a THR/CNJ/ACH with maybe a little tree cuttin' on the side. I loved playing healing/support in FFXI. I was thinking that since FFXI, I have yet to play a mage type of job in any other MMO since then. WAR I played a WL and Aion I played a templar. Even in beta, logging on to play my DoW was meh. Now that I have cures and macros, I am having a blast getting back to my roots.

I will 100% go DoM at launch. Now the question is race... I am torn between my miqo'te and my elezen. I like the look of my miqo'te, however, my female elezen as rare as they are, makes a pretty nice looking magic user. The more I play my elezen, the more I am beginning to like their design a little better >_>

Ahhh confliction!!

Anyone else having a change of heart now that open beta is out?

It definitely has. I originally was going to play a "hume" because I disliked the way the "tarus" were. But after playing one they are so adorable. Plus I'm really looking forward to being a crafter in the game! I think it'll be fun to just relax and craft instead of fight things. I mean...I'm a lover not a fighter. =)

was originally going to be a gladiator.... now i'm torn between conjurer, gladiator and pugilist T_T at least the latter two share stats, I hate that i can't just switch to conjurer whenever i want to if i go glad, by far my biggest disappointment w/ this game.
ugh don't know though T_T

Not especially. I've never really enjoyed mage jobs in any game, and while I was leaning towards Gladiator or Marauder, pretty much any of the War jobs appealed to me on at least some level.

Pugilist has been growing on me somewhat, though that might be influenced by my long, largely unrequited love affair with MNK in XI.

Still kinda stuck on what to do... Will do Con just because you get a few good spells for soloing (cure, stoneskin, shock spikes etc) but I don't want it to be my 'main' job. I like Lancer which is what I'm maining so far, but I may for MRD.

I originally was gonna roll CNJ, but started with THR instead. I must say I rather like it. The only thought that has changed for me is my starting city. As much as I like the look of Gridania, I think I'm gonna have to go with Ul'dah because of the story line, and the fact that the THR guild is located there XD. I have yet to try crafting, since it was taking so much for me to get used to the battle system and using the ps3 controller lol... But I will definitely look into crafting more when the game launches.

Was going to be CNJ but decided against it and will now be a Marauder. Trunk Splitter ftw.

better throw weaver up there so I can fix my own stuff v_v

Not really, Still want to try everything but still going to be concentrating on the jobs I originally wanted to play.

So what you're saying is that if you're say a Marauder you should stick to armorsmith so you can repair it? Any idea what grade of armor Lancer wears? If it's mostly leather stuff rather than chain or plate this may mean I go Lancer with a side of Puglist as it seems like Puglist is leather exclusive.

from what I have gathered you need to have the crafting job to repair the gear it goes with :(

guess I'll be a weaver then lol

Supports my idea of having 2 characters then. lol

I want to try a lot of the jobs haha

So far the only thing the beta has made me change was my mind about playing in the first place. They really gotta clean their shit up if they want me to play.

I was going Roegadyn 100% but they just look like taller, hairier, bigger, but puffier humans, not feral or even very animal like. So I am really liking my Highlander Hyur. I also like Lalafelle males with goatees. :)

I like fishing, i am ok with mining, but I hate logging for some reason. I am a big fan of Pugilist and Lancer. If Gladiator turns out to be a true tank I may go that route too. I pretty much plan on eventually doing all classes short of mages and Archers.

From playing the open beta at a friends house, the only change I noticed was god I want to play this more!!!

I'm sticking with an Elezen Gladiator as a start, though learning that there is so much customization to character creation (Seriously, I was impressed with the character creation screens, four different beard styles!!!), makes me want to try out many different character styles when the full game is out. I'm very glad that I can re-create my XI counterpart and add stuff to him.

I was not planning on playing Miqo'te this time around due to me being a dude and all the other dudes hitting on me when I first started but.... Man those cats are hot lol :)

One other thing I noticed, I saw a bit of D&D inspiration from what I have played, that made me smile alot.

Edit: Another thing, there seems to be a perfect balance of serious and charm in Eorzea. There is an actual soul in the world's setting. The way I see it, FFXIV is a work of love to all old school Final Fantasy fans.

I'll let you know once I finally get it download -_- my ISP is shitty so twice a day my internet tends to die and for some reason the download doesn't start where it left off sooo.. bah.. and my internet is usually faster than this 46-56k download rate so maybe their servers are being pushed hard and I can't get a good rate going, I dunno. But they need to seriously implement something where it picks up where it left off. This install process has been more of a pain in the ass than it really should be. SE really doesn't do "online" well.
