So what are your biggest pet peeves?

I am sitting in the airport now and this is bugging the shit out of me. People who use headphones, but play the music so fucking loud i can hear is word for word. If i wanted to listen to your piece of shity hiphop top 40 track playlist i would turn the radio on...

Another one of mine is when people mispronounce my name by skipping one of the vowels in it. It sounds slurred and uneducated when they say it, or like they're 3 and still have trouble saying certain words.

It's a very popular name and its not hard to say, Arrg.

Derail: WHAT is your name? Not like im being creepy or anything, but i dont wanna be one of those to mispronounce it. ^^;

Another pet-peeve: I love my friends and all, but I just hate it when friends think they know better than you when it comes to helping you fix problems in your marriage. Lately, its been happening a lot >_>

There's almost no bigger marriage-killer than a "friend" telling you how to make your marriage work. Good luck.

Yeah, my "friends" are telling me to quit FFXI or my wife will leave me, when in fact, she plays too >_>

-People who use acronyms without understanding what they mean. If you ever in your life have said any of the following, be glad it wasn't around me because my pimp hand would've struck true...: "ATM machine", "PIN number", or "RPG game". Ugh, I want to slap myself for even typing them out now.

Automated Teller Machine, Person Identification Numer, and Role Playing Game.

I understand that the last letter matches the word following to the "t", but just about everyone I know at my job (Compass Bank) says the first 2 just as listed.

My pet peeve would be leaving 1 second left on the microwave clock so I have to clear it out.

Or people who throw their trash in my car. Just because I do it doesnt mean you can!

Or Asshats

Or fucking customers who come in with an overdraft problem that was CLEARLY their fault. If you DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT, DO NOT USE YOUR DEBIT CARD OR WRITE A CHECK! People come in because they float a check and it went in the day of their deposit, and at the end of the day they're like; "But I made a deposit at 2 and the check cleared at 4."... WELL FUCKHEAD YOU WROTE THE CHECK 4 DAYS AGO ITS CONSIDERED AN OLD ITEM AND WILL GO IN BEFORE YOUR DEPOSIT YOU MADE TODAY! 4 Days ago is BEFORE today.

ARGGHAGRH Thanks for gettin my blood goin Rappa.

Peeve #9078656

When people are having a bad day or fuck up something going on for them, and completely take it out on you. They freak out at the smallest thing and blame you for absolutely everything and then are all shocked when you're mad at them. Also, when they've realized they've fucked up and speak all sweetly and kindly to you afterwards almost like that 'I wish you didn't make me so angry' kind of way and expect everything to be peaches afterwards. Typically at this point, I no longer want to be associated with you in any way, shape or form. If it sounds, after you've displayed your inability to be human, that it sounds like I dont care? Guess what, I dont. If you continue to bother me, you will truely understand what 'lashing out' means and how creative I can be with curse words. The only remedy for this is a sincere, heart felt apology and steps towards making sure future incidents of this ilk never happen again. If they do, may what ever god you pray to help you.

You kind of led on to another pet peeve of mine, and this is in no way shape or form directed at you :).

It really grinds my gears (Thats also a pet peeve, why do people say that? That quote from Family Guy is so last year), when people, more often than not, women, mention how well they can argue and curse someone out. Ive heard it so many time, its almost embarrasing to hear them mention their talent, because in reality, its nothing to be prowd of. And you sound stupid when you say out loud how well you can argue.

Totally kidding Morwen (maybe). The disclaimer is what made me laugh the most lol.

When you argue and cuss as much as we do in my family, its imperetive to your survival that you learn.

Women? You think thats about women? Actually no, its written by a woman, about her father. There, I said it.

Another peeve (not directed at you, this is something I generally get annoyed with, you just reminded me):

Men thinking that its funny/ok to constantly bash on women. Just because your guy friends laugh, just because I laugh and sometimes agree (yeah, I know, we're crazy) doesn't mean that all your 'Get back in the kitchen' and 'dumb/crazy bitch' jokes are funny or appreciated. Once in a while, maybe some men (and even women) should take a good look at their past girlfriends and instead of blaming the horrible relationship on her, take a look at yourself to maybe see if you were the asshole that made them act that way. If you didn't, bitch is crazy.

Oh I agree, all jokes (redundant as some may be) should be used in good measure otherwise it's just another "Your mom" snap that is really just pathetic. Although your pet peeve reminded me of a particular person that did that kind of crap, and yeah, my mom and my ex did that shit all the time. Without going into much depth about that particular relationship, yeah the bitch is crazy.

People who insist on insulting themselves. ("I'm stupid." "I suck." "I fail.")

People who think that pretty = incompetent.

Redundant jokes have recently become a pet peeve of mine as well. One of my lovely jobs assigned to me because I am an intern is scrubbing down and washing the funeral coach and lead car. Whenever I'm in the wash bay, someone comes in and says "Hey wanna do mine next {laugh}?"

It wasn't funny the first week, but I smiled anyways. Now that its been over 3 months, it can stop now =|

/Insert Myrrh "Bitch get back in the kitchen" comment.

I thought it was gettin heated here for a moment, but were a good group.

Another pet peeve of mine is when Someone asks to borrow a pen of mine and keeps it.

Myrrh /facepalm.

Oh another thing that grinds my gears is a person that talks just to hear themselves talk, not only that, they talk at light speed too that it just comes out like gibberish and they occasionally ask, "You know what I'm saying?"

On the topic of conversational pet peeves, another thing would have to be people just coming out and telling me like really really personal things. For example, awhile back a co-worker of mine looked like she had been bawling her eyes out and I just asked if she was alright. She busts out and lays out everything wrong with her life and why her trauma of her dad molesting her is screwing her up. I was a deer in headlights at that moment that just wanted to finish my coffee and bear claw, since then I have stayed away from bear claws...

If you stay in customer service Morwen it's never going to stop ;_;

*jumps on Zepharay's band wagon* Yea.... I understand that one more than a lot of people... thanks to joining the army and having my first name associated with a 'catchy' line from a movie "Run --------, run!" yea... I got that every day in gym class after the movie was released, then every morning when we went running, when ever I introduce myself to some on they think they are "clever" and start calling me Gump. Insant response? Deadpan face and a loud "Oh my god that's funny!!!" That movie came out in 1994, they arent the first one to use the line. How can people fathom that I find the Gump crap remotely funny?

Personal biggest pet peeve? Anyone that thinks they are dominating the conversation by "one-upping" what some one just said. The most recent example of this is my friends girl friend that opened her mouth every time I got done talking to come up with some great story about "She's so much better" don't get my wrong, I enjoy a healthy competition but don't lie and think I'll be impressed. My room mate was asking me about my time in Korea and what demolitions we got to play with (we were both demo experts but different units)
and I mentioned that my favorite part was exploding a truck. His girlfriend (23 years old and has never paid for a thing) piped in with "I've gotten to blow up 3 cars that were on top of one another," so I asked her what she used to deonate them with and her worldly answer was "Um...huh?" Every time I shared a part of my past near her the story that came flying out of her mouth was always bigger and better. Another gem? A jack rabbit in England that was the size of a VW Bug.

Don't lie to make friends :(

Speaking of people telling you their life stories, try working at a bank. Everyone tells you how their day is, their sons day, their spouses day, and their most recent failure or accomplishment. Its obsurd how handeling their money makes you seem like their friend.

What do you say to someone when they mention their kid got killed in a car accident and thats why they need all their money for the funeral???? /fume

You probably say "I'm sorry to hear that" and go on with your day. Nope, it's not your job to listen, and you may not even care. But grief does weird things to people... they don't always know what to do with it.

Which leads me to another pet peeve (and please don't think I am attacking you personally, Ex): Why is there so little common courtesy left in the world? Things like basic human acknowledgement that something bad has happened to someone - have we become so desensitized as a culture that we see another human being upset and we just click off because it's "not our problem?" I don't know, I'm not suggesting make the world's problems your problems or lets all hold hands and cumbaya, but it seems there's a basic human compassion that is lost on a lot of people these days. For all two seconds of kindness it takes, is it that much of a burden?
