You are being pessimist, and with that, ruining yourself the chances of a better LS, since you consider BoL as your last option. Honestly, I do not know how you plan to change the image of a LS with the same rep it had since it's beginning, around 4-5 years ago?

Your skill, attitude and reputatoin as a player, is what gets you into other LS, or better LS, not the LS you come from.

I started in BoL, then went to Rise (one of the BoL player created endgame LS) and now I'm in Perseverance. My past LS had nothing to do with my application, and Rise-Perseverance had issues back then.

Either I overestimated how much people around here hate BoL or you seriously underestimated. While I agree your skill, attitude, and reputation are all factors, they are all pulled down in this case by the fact I am from BoL.

All it would take is a few select people on these boards saying "Ya know what those BoL guys aren't the fucktards they used to be. Maybe we should give them another chance." and I'm sure most of QCDN would slowly fall in line with that train of thought.

Azafaraht, maybe the reason I want to change BoL is because instead of moving on to the next LS I would just like to make BoL into that next LS, maybe I have friends there I like to play with that I don't wanna leave to go join and integral or kaizen.

Yeah, BoL doesnt suck, we just have a horrible reputation and people wont ever get over that. And then you got our leaders which some act like asses and think they're the biggest thing in this game and they basicaly suck. That LS is ran with the mentality of what we were on 2003.

He mentioned more than one reason why he's trying to change BoL's image rather than quitting though. I sympathize with his reason of not leaving cause he has friends in the shell. I've been there trying to do "damage control" when bad news broke coming from my shells plenty of times (*sigh* @ Prophecy+Peregrine lol, still <3 for the two though), sure I could've quit and joined plenty of good shells, even have had friends offer to help me get into good shells on this and other servers. Telling him he's dumb for staying in BoL trying to reform it rather than jumping ship is shortsighted, he doesn't want to leave BoL, and he wants to be in a good shell, two contradictory goals, unless he tries to change BoL.

I'd admire him more for sticking with his friends than personal gain. I personally made that mistake once, ditching friends for gear isn't good.

P.S. I still don't like BoL =P My last encounter with them involved them getting themselves killed trying to mpk us at fafnir.

I totally disagree with the above statement. You might not be able to aquire certain pieces of gear without being in certain shells, but even then its only a chance at the item. I will say that having friends helps out a lot, but just because you have a pearl.... eh..

In flag's defense, just cus he's looking for a shell doesn't mean he couldn't possibly have experience. I've been looking, but that doesn't mean I don't have a few titles under my belt and a few pieces of gear that I might not have had otherwise.

To further argue that statement, majority of the gear aquired in end-game functions is only nessessary in game functions, as you can play without a lot of the stuff. By the time your 'turn' comes up for a certain item you have to question was it worth it.

If you don't enjoy the people in your shell, you might as well not be in it cus if you're in it soley for gear you're going to get your hopes up unless you're lucky enough to be first on the list for everything and it's doubtful you're going to get that in a new shell.

I was in BoL for like a week a few years back, and I left because one of the leaders was a b---- and even despite there being nice people there it wasn't worth being treated poorly.

I don't know anything about BoL's reputation now. Reputation is generally opinions with partial truths, so you can only take it with a grain of salt. Most, if not all, 'known' shells will come under the 'dark lime light' at some point in their duration. This thread is definately not -helping- to change a bad reputation, and dare I say if you are happy in your shell than you really shouldn't care what others think.

I've seen nothing but the reverse of that, as soon as I made my first post in here I was stereotyped just for being in BoL. BoL has made me exactly who I am, they gave me the gear, taught me the skills. While your ego seems to be to big for you to see past, if you looked at yourself I bet you would see the same.

Endgame isn't for everyone, there are people who are more than content to never touch endgame. After reading your post, If I was going to give you my opinion, I would stay away from endgame. I don't think you would be happy there. At least not in a larger endgame shell.

I wasn't trying to say flag couldn't have any valid points just because he lacked endgame experience, I just thought it would help me understand where he was coming from if I knew more about his background.


Finally I think this will be my last post in this thread. Its derailed nicely, I got to argue about the two things I hate most about QCDN. The stupid, short, pointless, meaningless posts and the undeserved poor reputation of BoL.

But anyway, if a player makes a player, then can I assume that the collection of players makes a linkshell? And if that is the case, should not a linkshell be judged based on its current collection of players and not on players who are not in the shell anymore? It seems to me BoL is trying to weed out the negative players but some people are dead set on seeing BoL as it was under the crap(pier) leadership of yesteryear that they can't see that maybe...just maybe they actually care about how others view them now.
