The third one sucked because of Reimi dieing right at the end and missing the 10k exp.

The first one wasn't so much sucky just it was time consuming even with hitting the weak spot.
 
Bah I'm stuck at the part where Sarah gets kidnapped on Disc 1. I triggered the tent scene now I have no clue what to do. I went explored went to the next town, after swapping discs, do I really go to the purgatorium? That doesn't make sense to me that's a really random spot for a disc change. Also considering that Sarah wanted to go to that town too doesn't make sense. Am I missing a trigger event or something?
 
i went to the purgatorium, but i couldnt get through cause i missed something, had to go back to town, trigger a cutscene, enter Elynna's house, trigger cutscene, then go to the Purgatorium.

Btw, i have found Lymle to be the MOST ANNOYING character i have ever come acrossed in a game ever, I have never cringed so much to hear this lifeless automaton speak as if she were void of emotion and intelligence whilst ending every damn thing with "Kay?"

I could only hope that somewhere, some how, she gets stuck in a house that is on fire and i can hear her say "Help me, Im burning alive kay!"
whomever created her, and voiced her. Please, disappear forever.

totally with you on this one...I'm just at the part where sarah gets kidnapped and the game doesn't really tell you how to progress to be honest...or it does and just in such a shoddy way.

I'm still enjoying the game, just got onto disc two, going a bit slow due to resident evil 5 and stuff ^^;

I didn't think it was confusing, Sarah had been talking about going to the purgatorium, and you finally got the ability to ride the rabbits, which they'd already told you you needed to get to the purgatorium. Then, you can't advance very far into the purgatorium without hitting a cut scene which says you need to go to tropp.

I enjoyed the hell out of this game, finally beat the final boss after about 60 hours, still have a bunch of quests and the secret dungeon to go through though. I'm guessing all the pickpocketing that I did lowered my relationship with all of my party members, because I only got a single ending at the end.
 
im on disc 2, just met up with crowe and got that other guy in my group (tryin to be as spoler free as possible haha), i still really enjoy the game, Lymle is less annoying now since i never use her, but shes still annoying...and sarah is just as annoying, slightly less than lymle. Strange....the most annoying characters ever...and i still love the game. haha!

He's a complete beast, I used him to tear through every boss I came up against since I got him. Even the first "secret boss" after you beat the game died in less than 5 minutes with him.

your not kidding, i just went up against Kokabiel and RAPED with him. It wasnt even a challenge...love that guy!

Edit:

Man you can take major advantage of Synthesis + The Bonus board!

I have now achieved 600% EXP bonus per battle, I hear its possible to get to 800% though i cant see what formula would make that possible, 600 is overkill enough for me already!!!!

I'm 12 hours in...and I'm thinking of quitting. Not having much fun, and the characters to me are pretty annoying lol. Does it get much better story wise, or do all I have to look forward to is combat?

Where are you story-wise? You're probably not up to the main story of the game yet, which does tie things in much better than before that point.

If you're not enjoyin' the combat, grindin' (for levels and material items), and loot huntin' I'd quit. The story is ass, but that's just my opinion.
 
i enjoyed the game entirely except for the annoying characters which i just used as little as possible. I thought the story picked up around the time you get to earth, and the ending kinda threw me a surprise.
 
I am really enjoying the game so far. The story is getting good, and the the more battle skills you get the more fun fighting is, especially when you can start chaining them together.

If the game had a Japanese voice track or just some better American voices it would be perfect. But some of the voices are annoying.

Some of the CS are long, but if you've played Xenosaga, they're nothing lol.
 
Not sure if anyone has asked this question yet, but.. how many hours does this game rack in?

Might just rent it and save me some bucks if its not as good as Star Ocean 1 and 2.
 
I had about 40-50 hours when I finished, and I didn't come close to getting all of the monster data to 100% and there's plenty of quests I didn't finish since you had to go to the secret dungeon first. I think it's worth buying based on how much there is to do in the game, before you even get to the new game plus mode.

If you're not terrible, don't care about grindin' levels/items/etc., and don't care about the achievements, so essentially you only care about the story, you'll probably finish it in 25-30 hours. Don't buy the game before you rent it, I'd strongly suggest against that, it's fuckin' awful after you enjoy the battle system for a few chapters.
 
Seems there are now rumors of SO4 on PS3.

I believe it says that it aims for a Summer 2009 release in japan, which would probably make sense. What do you guys think?
