Star Ocean 4....

Just got the game awhile ago, it's been fun, but storyline has been fairly predictable.

Just got Bacchus on my team, dumped Lyml in a heartbeat, I hate her voice, and her dead soul less eyes don't help. Should have left her on her homeplanet, never gonna use her.

Grinding for 100% monster complete is too long, but atleast you get overleveled for boss fights, haven't had a problem yet. Welch is another annoying voice, dunno if it's the VA or just the generic script that gets to me.

Depending on the extent you want to finish this game to, I could easily see someone putting well over a hundred hours into this game.

Completing all the monster data, and acquiring all the battle trophies would take I don't know how much time, and I don't even know how you would get all these, some are just ridiculous. Getting the the materials and crafting all the items, doing all the quests, and all the shop orders.

I haven't even tried coliseum and the Bunny racing past just seeing what they were.

But I've just hit 70 hours on this game, and I haven't even entered the last bonus dungeon yet, and the bonus dungeon I just finished the final boss has multiple forms that get increasingly more difficult each time you go back and fight him until he reaches his ultimate form, and I've only fought the first one.

Honestly I think you could put a couple hundred hours on this game on one play through, and I think the 2nd play through is different.

But the funniest thing hands down in the game as a FF XI player just happened in the first bonus dungeon, you get a skill that lets you duplicate items LOL. OH Square Enix, the irony lol.

Enhanced Port of SO4 coming to PS3.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope is officially heading to the Playstation 3. The latest Famitsu issue reveals that the previously Xbox 360 exclusive game will be ported to the Playstation 3 as Star Ocean: The Last Hope International.

The upcoming title is more than a straight port as it will contain new characters, better menus, improved targeting during battles, and dual-language support for English and Japanese in addition to subtitles for multiple languages. Star Ocean: The Last Hope International will be released in Japan on February 4, 2010.

Although Square Enix hasn’t confirmed a North American release yet, a recent GameFly listing might have leaked their plans. Here is the scan of ad from the upcoming game:

I'm very sure that this will come to North America and Europe.

Edit: This is the import-ant part hehe ;P

Edit 2: Found more specific features for this version:

Updates includes:

I may pick that up...I couldn't finish 4 coz of the horrid English voice acting to be honest...It pissed me off so much.

Maybe i'll be able to tolerate this version of the game. I'd like to be able to say i've at least beaten every SO.

I couldn't finish this game...sold within two weeks of trying to give it a shot lol.

Wonder if the menus will support English, most other "International" games have Japanese text menus, item list, skills, etc.

If they have English menus I'll be gettin' this. I, like some of you, couldn't bare another "Kay?"...

English and Japanese Audio for PS3 version. Glad I waited to buy it :D

I'm fairly sure the menus will be translated too, but I'm not 100% sure. I will be importing this so I can give you my impressions when I get it.

I was never able to beat SO2, I accidentally removed the final bosses limiter so he became a lot harder >.<

The key word here is "International". I'm usually wary of a release outside of Japan when SE decides to add that subtitle to any of their games.
I won't even be optimistic about this coming here, because every other time there has been "some mutterings" of releasing an international version outside of Japan, nothing ever comes of them. It would be neat if I was proven wrong, though.

Considering the walls between nations and language barriers between the East and West have been breaking down recently, I'd think the possibility of a western release is there, especially with that GameFly listing sometime back.

I don't doubt that a PS3 version is coming here(not that I felt compelled to buy the 360 version), but please stop taking so much stock in random retail listings. It doesn't mean shit. Once the knowledge of a release gets to the point that the retailers know, we know. Gamefly, or gamestop or walmart or anyone don't have inside knowledge as to the going-ons of any publishing companies(especially not Japanese ones).

They list these things because the idea of it gets into their heads that it'll exist. Maybe it's speculation. Maybe it's just one employee submitting it into their computer system because they misunderstand or thought it was implied. There's no way they get inside knowledge because there's no way they could keep it a secret. These retail companies can't even stick to a release schedule- there's always one of them that sells the games like 3 weeks early.

Honestly. Stop caring about rumors and speculation. If it isn't wrong, then it's information that was just guessed and we could have guessed too. A broken clock is right twice a day afterall. Stop paying attention to the blogs and "insiders" and random websites desperately trying to find something to say to justify their own pointless existance. You are wasting precious time that you could be spending living your life.

Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix was not released outside of Japan. Final Fantasy XII IZJS wasn't released outside of Japan. Square-Enix is the only company that seems to be really bad at this (which is why I didn't post this same thing concerning Tales of Vesperia), and even if it's being developed by Tri-Ace, it's still SE publishing it.
Again, I'm not keeping my hopes up.

Considerin' the PS3 isn't region locked it wont make much a matter. You can just import the game from PlayAsia or someplace. I, like yourself, do not think the game will get an official western release, which is why I'm concerned with the text in the menus.

Looks like the PlayStation 3 version of Star Ocean: The Last Hope International got its expanded name for a reason, shipping simultaneously across the globe in February.

We knew it was coming to Japan, and now we know it's coming everywhere else, as Square Enix announces a February 9th North American ship date for Star Ocean: The Last Hope International, the PS3 version of the former Xbox 360 exclusive RPG. Along with both English and Japanese, the game will also feature German, French, and Spanish, making it even more international than we first suspected.

Along with the previously discussed battle system tweaks and menu changes, the official announcement says the game now features "amazing graphics through Blu-ray Disc," whatever that means.

My Xbox 360 died halfway through Star Ocean: The Last Hope, and I never had the heart to go back through it. Perhaps in February I can finally make up for that oversight.

IT'S REAL FOLKS! FIVE DAYS AFTER JAPAN!!!

Oh my god please announced for Europe next!!!

In fact...

*pops an e-mail to Square Enix Europe!*

Edit: Couldn't send an e-mail but HOLY SHIT IT'S COMING OUT IN EUROPE TOO OH MY GOD!!!!

You have NO idea how happy and stunned I am O_o

Edit 2:

Don’t worry about importing Star Ocean: The Last Hope International. Square Enix plans to release the PlayStation 3 version domestically.

Look for it in stores for $59.99 on February 9, 2010, five days after the game debuts in Japan. Just like the Japanese release, Star Ocean: The Last Hope International lets users pick Japanese or English voice acting and select their choice of text from: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Japanese.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope International is also the first international release of Square Enix’s international re-releases. Perhaps, this will be a precedent and the inevitable Final Fantasy XIII International will make its way over here too.

MUST... PRE-ORDER... NOW!!!

Great news, never picked up the 360 version so will definitely be picking this up in February.
Then I'll have SO1-4 on Sony systems.

And to further confirm the NA PS3 release

Though I'd rather Namco give us ToV PS3, make it happen!

Well then, guess I'll have to decide whether I'll have time to play and finish this before Monster Hunter 3 comes out.
