This is to all you guys who rate down everyone but don't post anything so we can't get you back!

I'm starting to think you don't even read the posts and just instantly rate me down the moment you see my name, cause giving me the rate down with only the word "no" to go on, when I was commenting on the price of a novelty item being possibly sold be SE is kind of...

I think you should first question why you would be getting rated down in the first place.

It has no effect unless said person rating you down has a decent amount of rep themselves, so it's not like random sock-puppets are stalking you.
 
You can search by username in the advanced search at the top, it'll bring up every post they've made. Have fun.
 
Yeah i must agree with you Urat. Perfect example: Garvin. Rated me and Moink down in the absolute virtue thread yet not once did he post on it >_>

Besides, I have a life and am not one of the losers who hunts down people's posts and rates them down 20 times because they rated me down once.

On another note, people who rate me up should post in the same topic so I can give them a rate up back. =D

What, you think I'm going to post in a thread outside the flameboard that I find utterly stupid and idiotic? I had absolutely nothing to contribute to that thread, other than saying how fucking retarded it was, so I didn't post. Simple, isn't it?

I was about to make some comments about it here, but I won't derail this thread either. Carry on.

No, actually, you hide behind your rate downs and pretty much insult those you hate. Be it in a good times thread, general discussion, endgame, or anywhere else.

Not only this, but you abuse and actually step over QCDN authority. Your sig is a prime example, or how you think and feel the staff is "out to get you" when your account was deleted. I don't know if you ate too many paint chips as a child or if your just that spiteful to human society buddy, but noone... especially an internet forum is out to harm you. I know, its ok, take a deep breath and wipe those teary eyes from your face, it's ok... it really is.

To the OP, yeah its tactless and rather dick of players to hide behind a reputation system and feel they can make an impression by doing so. Yeah they succeed in angering you, but to some, its all they have to do. I know this bohered Jamal a bit that people would rather do this and not do anything when they were called out.
 
There were quite a few people who shared Garvin's view. The only difference is they're able to hold a conversation with their disagreements about Moink's thread.

The thread by all means is meant to create an arguement. Of what we know and don't know about AV. Yeah, I was in the wrong place originally, but I have moved my position and the only reason I retain my thoery now is because I want to prove to myself before I prove it to others. You don't have to agree with me on it or others.

What I wanted was a debate and keep PW about PW and AV about AV, and instead of that, I got the "beaten dead horse" line. Cool, fine, you find the topic rather old and drawn out. But the thread did what it was meant to and that was to keep AV out of the PW thread.

If you find it so IDIOTIC and UTTERLY STUPID why do you bother to rate someone down and talk trash to them in the rate down? So why dont you take those bold words as advice and stfu if you have nothing constructive to say? And if the thread was so retarded according to you, why didnt you say so in a post on the thread??? Shows how much of a classy guy you are *insert sarcasm here*. :nono:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that the entire purpose of the rate-up/down system is so you can give your opinion about a post without actually having to post to say "I agree" or "I disagree"? I don't think people need to post a one-liner "I don't agree" when they don't agree with you. Thus, they rate you down and move on.
 
Going out of your way to rate someone down over and over is quite silly...
 
Nothing good comes of the rep system. A row of dots isn't worth all the drama. We should just get rid of the system altogether. I used to like it. It was a fun distraction. It's rapidly losing that quality. Every day there's more and more reputation abuse. QCDN is about holding conversations, and not about increasing your relative popularity amongst other members. If people hate me, they hate me. If they like me, they like me. It should be a decision left to each individual member. There will always be bandwagon haters and sycophants, but the reputation system makes it far to easy to pick sides. Get rid of the rep system and let individuals make up their own minds about a person's value. If a person wants to bash another person's post, let that person grow balls and post it publicly. Anonymity is the biggest curse of the internet, and it needn't be on QCDN. The flameboard is for flames. If there was someone I hated, and at the moment, I don't think there is, you wouldn't see me stalking the rep system. If I agree with a position, I should grow up and state as much. Get rid of the rep system and make people step out of the shadows and state their positions openly.
 
I think the problem, Urat, is clear.

You have a tendency to think "Oh, this post will get me lots rate ups!", post it, and then realise "Oh damn! This post has gotten me lots of rate downs!"

Then you'll just go onto contradict yourself completely, say stuff that goes against all your views just to fit in.

Do yourself a favor, and stop flaming. You completely fail at it (except for the part where you make yourself look like an ass and get rate downs)

If I had a nickel for every time I wanted to rate someone down, I'd be a rich mofo. It's not necessary to rate someone down for no reason especially if you don't even post in the thread. Moink's thread defiantly did what it was suppose to do, and didn't deserve a rate down for it. I've only hit the "I disapprove" choice once, and it was only because they rated me down.

I can't even remember the last time I rated you down. lol. When you post stupid shit over and over you are going to get rated down for it. Go cry some more, cause I'll continue to rate down posts I feel deserve rate downs. I'm honored though, this is the first flame against me. Next time try not to fail so much. Oh snap I used that same old line.. What shall I do.:wink:
