oh shit man epic flu pademic is back.. AND ITS PISSSEEDDD
 
This ladies and gentlemen is mother earth fighting back yet again. It'll continue to happen and just grow stronger and more lethal. The more vaccines and antibiotics we produce the worse this will get.

I'm not spiritual, nor am I religious.. but I am superstitious and I do believe in karma. This earth is a living being and she's trying to get rid of her plague.. us.

Although reading up on super-strains is a bit unnerving.. I won't concern myself with it. Live life.

Well, guess I'll be eating ramen and pasta for a week or so until they get this taken care of.

Edit: This remind anyone else of that old cartoon that ran like 2 or 3 episodes in the late 90s-2000 or something? I think it was this kid that got into a lab and got all kinds of freaky diseases.

I have always thought this way. Humans to the earth are exactly like the flu to a human.

Tymon I'm not sure if you underestimate outbreaks like these or overestimate humans. Or I should have read that with a smart ass under tone.

I'm not all that worried yet. I've read that its mainly in Mexico and has only infected 8 Americans in California and Texas. When it spreads more around my area, then I'll be more careful.

I think people have seen "The Happening" a few too many times in this thread. I'd prefer to go out like in "The Thing".
 
I'm not worried, because well... America seems to like to 'freak out' with things like killer bees, mad cow, bird flu, now what? A fucking pig flu?

I do agree, with every disease that comes forward that we get rid of, another more powerful one comes forward. But seriously... the propaganda of fear tactics is getting old. Next thing you know they will be telling us that there really is a Boogyman in your closet!!!!
 
I think it's more of a mistranslation on the peoples parts than anything. From what I gather, the news reported it as an epidemic, yes, but there are two subjects in the topic. The epidemic wasn't referrin' to the humans, but the pigs (they didn't bother to make that clear though, themselves). It hasn't reached epidemic status for humans yet. One -new- topic per day in the last few days isn't anything over analytical, imo.

Like I said earlier, nothin' to see here for the moment.

I wouldn't be worried either if I had a whole country in the way of the disease and where I live. Frickin' Canadains.
 
Good thing I don't eat red meat much. Now I'll just cut it down completely for a while.

That's not so much the issue, though it is one. Apparently this is a virus that can be obtained through more means than just eating their meat. It's a virus we can obtain from them just the same as we can get the flu from people around us. However, peoples main concerns should be focused more on your outlook unless of course they live in an area with a lot of swine farms or wild hogs. Their takes should be obvious.
 
Whats even funnier is that a bout a week or two ago in a lab in i believe it was Conn., some virus vials went missing and what were they containing? HMMMMM different Flu Strains..... some has been busy and naughty ohhh its now in new zealand

I was just saying to myself I want to cut out pork. I haven't heard about this flu.
 
It's at a status 3, which iirc I read it would be bumped to a status 4 once the results come back on the severity of human to human transfer. It's already been stated it can be passed from human to human, just hasn't been confirmed the percentage of successful human to human spread.

BTW Mire, there's a case in BC and a couple already in N.S.

I do agree though that the media is constantly trying to strike fear in the hearts of it's viewers and readers. Scare tactics are a disgusting avenue our society continues to use for what I believe it some sort of control or monopoly attempts. However, we would be stupid to not at least practice caution.
