Swine flu

The CDC says that there is no evidence of getting the swine flu from eating pork. But of course you should still practice good cooking habits, and make sure the food is thouroghly (sp?) cooked to kill bacteria etc.

Spoiler:
Workers cleaned St. Francis Preparatory School in New York on April 26, 2009 after the swine flu was confirmed in eight students, prompting the federal government to declare a public health emergency across the United States.

Lets hope it's not easily transfered from human to human. Schools are a pretty large target.

Man my wife is flying here in two weeks i haven't seen her in 3 months :| im hoping this doesnt lead to them closing down public transportation :\ ill be pisssseeeeeeddddd

to some earlier replies:

eh, sarcasm doesn't travel so well over text. I wasn't entirely serious in my reply.

I don't think it's going to be a horrible catastrophe over here, though. I was serious about not going out to eat for a little while, as well.

Edit: This remind anyone else of that old cartoon that ran like 2 or 3 episodes in the late 90s-2000 or something? I think it was this kid that got into a lab and got all kinds of freaky diseases.

That's actually the first thing I thought of when I saw the title of this thread lol.

This my friends... is the only cure..

I started cravin' BBQ on Friday, which kind of sucks.

Spoiler:

I disagree. There is an abundant supply of weapons to battle this deadly porcine virus, many provided to us by the very incubators of this terrible disease...

For example...

The BA-K-47.

On a more serious note, realistically, this is a fairly minimal threat.

Just a thought me and Chinis were having.
This reminds of of the bird flu back on 2006 iirc, the only people that were really alarmed because of many deaths were the Chinese. Now it's the Mexicans, no1 else has died apart from Mexico and in the US already many cases have been back on health.
We thought that (and seems kinda obvious) their horrible ways of eating and their sucky nutrition has their immune system really weak and cannot fight this off.

Also, this is not transferred from Swine to human, it's transfuses from human to human, in a really easy way, it has the moving form of a A/H1N1 virus. Which makes it really sucky because it's really easily transferred, but this right now isn't much of a threat.

I'd be interested in knowin' how that's a possible case. Technically, if that is actually the case, it's as simple as the peanut butter incident we recently had, in which case you shy away from PB for a bit and was handled as so. This though, has taken a different route. Factor that in with the obvious concern of knowin' humans can get a virus from anything be it horse, dog, cat, fly, etc. and it seems really unlikely you could be shut up with a pig with the virus and come out of the bin in the same health you went in.

MY bad, Strid, I wanted to mean that you won't get virus through pork ingestion, but you can through physical contact.

Madagascar will be the last one standing.

You all know it to be true.

I feel horrible for playing fucking Pandemic II, I still cannot infect Madagascar.

Exactly.

So the Flu has reached closer to me now. However, I'm still not worried because of the so little effect its having on the U.S. 20 people infected, all recovered, all but 1 did not need to be hospitalized. Out of those 20 people, 19 of them came from Mexico previously. One caught it from their husband who just came from Mexico.

Then again, I'm not feeling all that great today so who knows?

I wouldn't be worried either if I had a whole country in the way of the disease and where I live. Frickin' Canadains.

Pssh, up your Southern border control and stop concentrating on your "Northern Threat".

;)
