3rd place my ass, they may be 3rd place in the console market in NA but worldwide they still hold 2nd and that's without bringing up sales on the GBA and DS. They're still the only company that has never lost money on a system, are stitting on billions of dollars, have the #1 selling system under their belt (GBA), please clarify for me how this is a failure? I'm just not seeing it. Think outside the box a little, the world doesn't end at the United States Border.

Everyone argues about Nintendo and their consoles not being good enough. You know I appreciate that Nintendo is doing something original and that is another thing that shows with the design of the controller. Look at the DS? I play it more than anything else because it's fun. (And I can't wait for the rest of the games as well.) Nintendo may not have the backing, that say, Sony does. It may not have Halo like Microsoft does. (Though a DS version of Halo would rock my socks. XD) But Nintendo has innovation, fresh new ideas that will make gaming fun again. Personally I'm sick of playing games like Jak and Rachet & Clank, which only offer general updates for their sequals. I'm looking forward to the new Legend of Zelda, the new Animal Crossing, and the Revolution in general. And I'm not willing to throw away $350+ on a machine for a graphics upgrade.

Those are NA numbers, not worldwide. I wouldn't be too excited about the DS having a ~1.5 million worldwide sales lead over the PSP considering it's had a 4 month lead time on the PSP in the US and six months in Europe.

By the way.. I believe the only reason they changed the PS3's controller from the PS2 was because of some lawsuit someone had claiming that sony stole their controller design (this is something I heard.. not sure if it's fact).

All these Nintendo fanboys/girls are sure set on thinking Nintendo is god despite the lack of good games it has to back it up (Note: the fact I say it lacks good games is my own opinion about the games it has. Anyways, how could it possibly have any good games since so many are just spin offs, repeats of the same character, music, world, and virtually the same story.)

Seriously. The gaming industry is getting stale. It's been the same thing pretty much since the Saturn as far as 3D gaming goes. And then Nintendo does what they always do, and try something new. While Sony and Microsoft are going "ZOMGWTF $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$", Nintendo is working on new and innovative ways to play games. And this is the main reason I like Nintendo over Sony and M$. Nintendo is in it for the games, Sony and MS are in it just so they can make more money.

1) The DS came out during holiday 2004
2) It had 4 months to build sales before the PSP
3) The DS is less than half the price of the PSP

It doesn't matter when they came out, the DS is still overselling the PSP. If you can find it, look at the comparison of sales by month, not since it came out.

Oh, yeah, that's why the PSP is outselling the DS on a month to month basis outside of Japan?

EDIT: And I'm not sure if you realise this or not, but developers actually have asked Sony to use similar programming for the PS3 because it is fairly easy to use.
