Thanks for staying batshit insane, Nintendo.

Seriously, this thread is just fucking ridiculous and doing no one any good whatsoever. Every plausible idea has been reiterated over and over again, and we're just treading water here.

I'm going to go take a shit and play my GBA SP.

Also, XBox 360 is lame.

Antor, your beliefs don't enter in to the fact that the first off the line PS2s had an inferior disk tray assembly which used a cog instead of what it uses now as more of a piston. Tech TV even cracked one open and showed how to fix the "design flaw" (as sony called it) easily by marking what spots the cog was in when it read each certain type of disk and then finding the avg in the middle of the wheel.

Yes, sony did offer to take the malfunctioning units back and replace them with the properly designed disc reader/tray assembly for free and actually most console and PC manufacturers say to refrain from using compressed air to clean electronic devices.

Our local EB games and Game Haven takes in broken PS2s, XboXs, and gamecubes (along with the older systems) and have prices listed as they didn't even lift an eyebrow when i brought my PS2 in thanks to the malfunctioning assembly. They told me what the problem was, how they were going to fix it, how they're backed up on repairs on this same issue, then took my money and went to work on it. Just because you weren't aware of the issue doesn't mean it's non-existent that'd be like me saying that people in cambodia are the color purple.

Aside from that bang on, whatever works, no reason to belittle the fact that most of the first of the line PS2s WERE screwed up to the point not only did sony redesign they tray assembly two months after release they almost considered a recall. Simply because you weren't aware of it and yours worked just fine.

Aside from that, and i know i've pointed it out before, is anyone aside from me aware of the fact this isn't the flameboard? I see way too many childish remarks and stupid insults for someone's LS and/or FFXI not to be involved

The good people at Penny Arcade linked to this piece about Nintendo's Revolution which may put their corporate strategy into some kind of focus for you. I think it's a pretty good analysis, one of those "OMG it's so simple!" deals when you read it.

Very good read and an excellent explaination of Nintendo's market strategy.

N64 was pretty popular actually, unless there's some other reason why every gaming magazine considers Goldeneye to be one of the best multiplayer 1st person shoots of all time.......Gamecube tanked pretty big tho. 64 controller style was by the far the best one they've come up with.

good, more people that don't think it sucks because they've never seen it before.

I see the "It sucks" statement and think of a cave man with a sharpend bone clenched tight in his hand as he tries to kill the first sunrise.

Nope, never seen it before.

Not the first game console to design a controller like a remote control, however it is the only one alive still.

Philips CDI gaming and movie console. Notice the controller used for gaming.

Also reminds me of one I personally own:
mattel_intellivision.jpg

Good ole' 1980 intellivision. 12 buttons and a D-pad all in a remote control design. :D

O.o Rones you forgot about the Colecovision. ^^ It had a wired "remote control-looking" game pad too. Heh.. good old Colecovision. O.o I was like 7-9 years old when I had that system. It rocked though, well, till the NES came out.

See, this is the problem. Most people (i.e. ignorant jackasses like yourself) don't even stop to think about the difference between invention and innovation. So, instead of being an internet superstar and responding with 'omg lmao' to your weak rebuttal like I had intended, it's time for a condescending lesson:

Invention is, clearly, the materialization or application of a new idea. A utility or implement that no one has ever concieved before. If you've seen Back to the Future, you'll recognize any of Doc Brown's fantastic toys as inventions: A motley assortment of awkward and haphazard gadgets that do wonderful things.

To innovate an invention, something Doc Brown didn't appear to be capable of, considering he's still the only one with a Flux Capacitor in the year 2015, is to find a practical application of that invention that can be widespread throughout the masses.

For example, it's a common error to credit the Irish for inventing that most popular stout, Guinness. It was the Welsh who invented it. (Sorry to all you proud Irish!) The Irish, in a sense, innovated Guinness by, well, drinking it, and brewing/distributing it in mass quantities.

The point is, we Nintendo Fanboys are fully aware that the ideas behind Revolution are not a brand spanking new, choice of a new generation, feelgood sensation of the year. Gyroscopic sensors and all those clicks and whistles have been around for a long time. However, the chances that you have experienced the use of such applications in a positive, practical light is pretty damn slim unless you've played Laser Tag at NASAs training facility.

What we're looking forward to in the Revolution is based on the reputation of Nintendo for making almost anything fun in ways we'd never thought. We're looking forward to an affordable, unique experience that most people would otherwise never have the chance to enjoy.

Nothing you can say is going to change our mind. No matter how many hilarious web comics you direct us to or how many other people's ideas you steal, your opinion isn't that important to us. If it's not what you're looking for, fine. Say so, sit down, and shut the fuck up. Thanks for fucking up another thread, troll.

I didn't really like any of the 3D Zeldas. Zelda 1 and 3 were great, but I really enjoyed Zelda 2, even though many people really dislike part 2. I didn't really enjoy the Gameboy ones, either.

I think some games should stay in 2D -- Zelda, Metroid, Castlevania, Ghosts 'n Goblins/Ghouls 'n Ghosts.

Also, I don't understand why people think Goldeneye was such an amazing game. I guess maybe it would have been an awesome game if the only FPS games a person had ever known were those on consoles.. but next to any PC FPS, even Quake 1, it's pretty stale.

Elemmire I have been one of your biggest supporters for a long time, but you telling someone to leave a thread because they arent contributing is down right hypocritical to the millionth degree.

Thanks,
Falsey

What are you talking about Ele? I was actually making jest of Nintendo's controller I thought. How does anything you quoted relate to being a Nintendo fanboy?
