Well after all the previews i waited for this game for awhile.
its quite a bit different than i expect.

its more like a fight club sorta thing with guns and an arcade score mode.
Think house of the dead with being able to control where your character runs and being able to look around like an FPS, this is third person shooter though.

Your in a club that requires you to perform deadly tasks in a little game conducted by the secretary.

you run through different areas with different goals in mind playing as one of many characters.
Such goals as running through an area capping guys and collecting enough points to meet the goal score and surviving till you reach the exit.
each k ill takes your multiplier up but if you wait too long in between kills your multiplier will begin to bleed out.
Multipliers are also based on your type of kill, headshots, distance, wall penetration, crackshot distance. there are also skull shots, little caution signs you can shoot to boost your multiplier.
you get points for stylish kills as well.

there is a race mode too where you must run a certain amount of laps around an area while taking guys out and surviving, this is called the Gauntlet run.

Theres a mode where you are injected with explosives and you must survive the onslaught until time runs out, if you cross over a white line you have 5 seconds to get back out or youll blow up.

Its quite a different game, it takes some getting used to because its unlike anything ive ever played.
The shooting is a bit confusing at first because of weapon switches and stuff but youll start to pick up on it, you can customize your crosshair color and filter between several types of weapons, you get a sprint to run between your kills.

i have not played too much as it gets pretty damn hard as time goes on, ive completed the first tournament area of the factory and it was fun, but in small bursts.
its cool to hear the unreal tournament voice yell HEADSHOT! CRACKSHOT! GOOD SHOT! they treat it like a shooter fighting game.

I would say its a rent first, but i like it enough to buy it. Im sure the online is alot of fun too but i have not tried it yet.

i just played through two more sections and i like it alot more as i go on, its fun running through in a panic kickin up different stylish moves to cap every guy you see. Its still not a game for everyone but i like it!

The Club : Third Person Shooters :: Blue Dragon : RPGs

are you saying its bad? because im having a blast, i got my friend and my brother in on it tonight on some system link and we love it!
im sure playing solo can get stale after some time, but its mindless arcade fun and i cant stop playing it!

Dear lord yes. This game is for TPSs that Blue Dragon was for RPGs. I don't like to base games off of demos since project slypheed was a great game, but this demo was a complete pile of trash.

i never got to play the demo so i went into it fresh, at first i was iffy but about two stages in when i got the hang of it it became a blast

After playing the demo I have no interest at all in this game. Chasym, man, I dunno what excites you more, making "official threads" or recommending mediocre games. lol

It's a little fun with a friend to play split screen with, but there are better games out there for that now. Being mediocre or worse as a shooter is unforgivable right now. It's the one genre we really don't need any more games of and unless it's something potentially great why bother? At least when Blue Dragon sucked, you could rationalize that there isn't much else out there for jRPGs.

i didnt actually reccomend it...i said it was a rent but I like it enough to buy it, i also said its not for everyone. I said it was mindless arcade play, which i actually do enjoy. i dont think the game is crap at all, but i certainly didnt say rush out and buy it, there are many other great games out there yeah, i could play through DMC4 several more times and not get bored, but i play just about every NON sports game that comes out, and i like to give a heads up on the game to my fellow gamers on these boards who have yet to play it or wonder about it.
Its just something i like to do, no harm no foul right guys?
Everyone has their own opinion, i can accept that. I personally enjoy the game but 100% agree its not a game for the majority of gamers out there, its the kind of game you play when your bored and just wanna rush around shooting mindlessly.
Sorry if i may have caused any ruckus on the subject :)

Don't bash Chasym! The man can find away to have fun with any title!

i wouldnt say that lol, theres a few i couldnt stand (blacksite area 51, blue dragon after realizing my excitement covered my eyes over what a POS it was) earth Defense force 2037 etc.

Did you beat Blue Dragon? I gave up on the 3rd disc.

I refuse to believe someone made it to the 3rd disc of Blue Dragon. I got sick of it after the first boss, and even that was pushing it pretty bad. At that point you might as well just have fought it through to the end.

So far I've gotten to the very last boss fight, in Blue Dragon. It's hard to want to play it lol

the only bad thing about this game is the live play. it all lags so much you'll be runnin and shooting people in the head and nothing, but when there is nobody around you, you'll die b/c of lag bullets. system link is i think the best way to play so far.
