I constantly agree, the mods have the power, its their site to run as they see fit, even when I disagree with their actions, who the fuck am I to call them out on it or bitch and moan?!

There are some things that need cleansing that's for sure. Including RL attacks, or perhaps my understanding is lacking.

Full frontal attacks are nothing to shy away from, best to stand your ground whether south paw or orthodox and punch the bitch in the chops I say.

I'm glad this was posted, outside of the personal issues I'm sure a lot of the older members think the same, at least, I know most of the ones I know (I keep up with nearly all of the original members, or at least I like to think that I do) do.

This is I think the first post I've made in a few weeks to a month that isn't my weekly chapter update for my Naruto thread in Everything Anime. That's really, the only reason I come here. Every once in a while I'll get linked a thread where someone gets shit on, or some shitstorm locked thread that everyone gets a good laugh out of, that kind of stuff.

The only stuff that gets posted right now anymore could probably be numbered off my fingers.

Dynamis Scheduling. Genuinely informative and helpful stuff here.

News stories. Same shit every time, degrades into political or religious debate every single time

Idiotic job/quest/mission/update discussion - Flamewars 99% of the time, baiting the other 1%. Trolls trolling trolls trolling..etc

Conspiracy theories - These are my personal favorite (to rage at)

Token "fuck the mod squad" rant post that gets locked and results in infractions - Fun to read.

Flameboard posts - Been shit for years. Maybe one or two good threads a year since 2006. I think the last genuinely good one was the Urat thread. I'm not including this one, it's not really game related.

And I'm not going off saying that there are better forums, BlueGartr is even worse. There's a few more decent areas to hang out on there but overall the shitposting is ten times worse than here.

I'm not going to complain though. People grow up, games come, and games go. With the game goes the site, and that's what's happening.

It's sad, to the old schoolers that have seen everything come and go, but it's not going out in style, I'll tell you that.
 
I'll say this about Bored at Work, and only once. It was shoved at me after its originator, Pur, decided to piss off of QCDN for whatever reason she came up with. The original group wanted to keep it going, and nobody stepped up to "mod" the place, so I talked it over with Miros and it was passed to me.

I was proud of the place for a long time as a place to go and shoot the breeze with friends without (perceived) persecution elsewhere on the boards. It was even better when posts there no longer counted toward total post count (thanx for that too Miros!).

It became a disappointment when, after a long time, we descended into a tit-for-tat kind of pissing contest with the folks of ArcaneGarden - I say we, when it was really just a few people here and there, including myself.

After about...I'll say the entire "2nd biggest clique" funtimes came about and passed, which coincidentally came about the time we moved to a social group, I had had many lengthy discussions with Miros about the future of B@W (yes, it looks like BAW for a reason), and he and I figured that the SG would be a great way to mend the fences and kinda start over, without all the smack-talking and so forth, especially since staff had since mandated (or reaffirmed) that private forums and social groups were also subject to the rules of QCDN at large.

So I made the decision to do just that, and asked nicely that people keep the trash-talk about other members out of Bored at work. Some people got it right away, while others decided it wasn't in their best interests. I then made an assertive stance that we needed to get beyond the bullshit, and alluded to opening the new Bored at Work SG to the public viewing. Again, some got their mess straight, while others continued to be a pain. I removed people only on consensus, and I rarely did so. But finally, it got to be too much, so I opened the group.

In the end, some people stayed along, people I consider friends (I still consider some who left to be friends as well), but activity slowed to a crawl, and only recently has it picked up a little again.

I can't speak for everyone but it's my belief that it has merely slowed because it's getting old, no offense, mine has always been slow! I do not believe that people have trickled away because it is no longer 'safe' to shit talk about people outside the group. I never thought it WAS.

B@W is a good little space for friends, like Cheers for crying out loud, I think most heinous shit happened before I became a member. I got pretty confused at times when shit would explode because it often pertained to past issues which I was unaware of. It was only a couple of you that thought to mention that to me >.>

Even apologized to me for the shit I was witness to being somewhat 'new' to the group.

BTW.. who is ArcaneGarden? Is that some epic LS? I don't really care, but I don't remember seeing that name ONCE in B@W all the time I was there. That or I just didn't give 2 shits, which could also be it. Just thought I should mention that.
 
Just to add, that was around the time I started becoming friends with Tristam. For all the people that think I'm a stubborn asshole, lol. Cheeba, AG was my old social LS.
 
I do recall quite a few of the bickering that made me feel ashamed to be associated with the group at the time, but it was always a few individuals who repeatedly did it.
I don't remember the Arcane Garden bit, but I figure it was during the time I "left".

No, it wasn't anything like LS vs. LS having a knife fight like in the Beat It video or anything. It was more like just certain people going back and forth with other certain people. It's focal points were rep system, conspiracy, shit talking, etc.

There was some shit storms, the biggest was the 2nd Biggest Clique, again that was from past issues that I was not made aware of but the general feel for it pointing to members of B@W which included me, so yeah.

Anyway, I'm not going to deny there was some trash talk in B@W, but I KNOW Trist as well as others did well to extinguish it quickly.

I think I've had it out or at least got into it with quite a few people, but over specific actions.

As I mentioned earlier, what pisses me off about QCDN is how none of you fucks can let the past go. Always bringing it up as if the guidelines to live your mofo on-line life by. Christ almighty.

It's not about forgetting but the past is the MAIN reason shit got messy over and over in B@W, and why things have become so dead on QCDN.

If it were allowable that you could all just fucking insult each other all day with bs RL attacks and such, well hell, there would be all kinds to read and lulz over.

I would consider myself to still be 'new' on the so-called block. But not too new to take notice of the immaturity that is in abundance.

I'm all for fun, I just wish for a fucking second most of the other (and here it comes) "GAMERS" on this god site site were too!

Now, I've had about enough potty mouth outbreaks for the evening.

Where are the mods when there is some post filtering to do??

RL attacks are NOT welcome iirc.
